3/13/08 Been married to my wonderful husband for 3 1/2 years, but we've been living together for 10 years. We were putting off kids until careers were established and we owned a home. Finally accomplished all of that May '07, so I ditched the pill June 1st. We did get pregnant right away in July but miscarried during the 6th week. That made us REALLY want a baby then. It finally happened again in January. I have know since 4 weeks from HPT, but have been to afraid to truly believe it! Today is 9 weeks exactly and I had my first doctor's visit, so it is starting to feel real. Doc was able to find a heart beat, but only for a second, and I MISSED IT! lol. The doctor and my husband heard it, so that's good enough for me for now! I go back in a week to try to hear it myself. r

3/25/08 Heard the heartbeat yesterday!! I didn't cry because I was so amazed and concentrating so hard on listening! My hubby is sweet and gets choked up!

4/14/08 Doctor's appointment today...got to hear the heartbeat again!!! The rate was 161. And the baby seems to have moved up. 3 weeks ago, doc found the heartbeat down low, pelvic region, but today she found it right away in my lower abdomen.rap hics.com

4/23/08 Starting getting bad vaginal pressure on 4/21. And felt as if something was falling out. It was almost the exact same feeling I had two days before my miscarriage, so I started to get paranoid and called the doctor's this morning. My doc was out of the office, only on call. The MA's there were worried about my symptoms so they had me go to maternity at the hospital. Got a pelvic, some labs, and heard the heartbeat again (mid 150s). Everything looked fine, and now it's not bothering me as much. PHEW!! The staff's attitude wasn't the greatest (2 out of the 4 I was in contact with were nice, the other two were pretty snotty), but the maternity ward was gorgeous; I'd never been there before. It didn't look like part of a hospital. Looked like I was entering a fancy hotel!

5/12/08 Doctors appointment was today. Not much happened again. Got to hear baby's heartbeat again! And I was getting paranoid from reading pregnancy books because the books said my digestive problems could cause preterm labor. But doc said I should be fine and told me what to look out for. I've gained 6 lbs; which I find hard to believe cause I look like I've gained 30 lbs!! And she used the word 'perfect' a few times! :) I finally get an u/s May 16TH!! We can't wait to find out what we're having!!

5/16/08 The big ultrasound was today...my one and only ultrasound. IT'S A BOY!! That means my intuition, intelligender and mysticmoonqueen were all right, but most of the old wives tales were wrong.....like the heart rate was 150-161 and I have lots of acne. Baby boy has his legs closed at first, but u/s tech pushed down on my belly and wiggled a bit and he went crazy...swimming all over and opened his legs wide. :) He seems to be big. Measured 9 oz and at 19 W 1 D, but I have my LMP and ovulation days all written down so I shouldn't be more than 18 weeks. I can't believe I can't feel all that swimming around and kicking. So amazing! Cutest thing I ever saw!!!! :

5/29/08 Well, since we've been calling our baby boy Logan for days now, I guess we are settled on a name........LOGAN MICHAEL. Can't believe I'm at the half way mark! I really hope the 2nd half goes as fast as the 1st half! Last night, my 9 month old puppy dropped his very first toy (a little squeaky soccer ball) down a sewer drain. I cried like a baby thinking my 'babies' very first toy was long gone! Hope this is not a sign of how sentimental of a mother I"m going to be! lol. At least I wasn't alone in being overly sentimental, my husband was apparently so upset by it too that he found a way to fish that ball out of there! What mushy parents we'll be! lol

6/9/08 Doctors appointment today......first time I've seen the doctor since my u/s. She said everything from the u/s was perfect. Got to hear the heartbeat again, and Logan made a good kick/punch while we were listening...pretty funny. Uterus is measuring right where it should be. And I've gained 10 lbs. Been feeling pretty sick the past 4-5 days though. Think its from the heat; been 90 degrees all week. But doc wants to see me in a week to make sure everything is alright.

I did finally start to feel Logan the past 4 days. He's been all over too. Most of the time real low, but now a couple times I've felt it right above my belly button. Feels so funny! It usually makes me giggle. lol. And I got all the nursery bedding/decor I ordered today!! Can't wait to get to work on the nursery!!

6/16/08 Another doctors appointment....everything is going good except that I gained 4 lbs just this past week! Doc said I'm only allowed 2 lbs a week. Guess I need to cut back on the Coke and ice cream sandwiches :(

6/24/08 Had to go to the doc's AGAIN...had a lump 'down there', but turns out its just a sebaceous cyst. phew. Funny how the littlest things freak me out now! Logan's heartbeat is still in the upper 150s. Doc is still making me go back in on the 30th. Don't know why she couldn't just weigh me and stuff at this appointment. Oh, well, guess it'll be another chance to hear the heartbeat since I don't have a doppler at home.

6/29/08 Finished registering for my baby shower. Well, at least I think I'm finished! That was hard to do! Even though sooo many people have given me advice on what to get, I still felt soo lost and overwelmed, like I had no idea what I needed. Hope I covered everything! My shower is August 3rd....not too far away! My sisters wanted me to have the month of August to be able to shop for things I didn't get at the shower....assuming I wont' want to do that 9 months pregnant in Sept! :)

My husband felt Logan kick 5 days ago. Kind of funny because he had his hand on my belly and Logan kicked right underneath Mike's hand, but Mike didn't react at all. I said 'didn't you feel that?" . He did feel it, but had thought it was my digestive tract and not Logan. hehe.

6/30/08 Doctors appointment today....actually lost 2 lbs! So I've gained 13 lbs total. Nothing new at the doc's today. Not supposed to go back for another month, and then I'll do that sugar test.

7/28/08 Doctors appointment today....Gained 18 lbs total and belly is measuring right on track. Supposed to get my glucose test done this week; got the lab order for it to go to the hospital. Think I'll go Wednesday (30th). Still want to do the hospital tour (not doing childbirth classes) and need to do the pediatrician interview. Always seems like so much to do! Made some progress on the nursery. Its all painted, most of the border is up, and the crib, dresser and rocker are in there.

8/1/08 Went for my GD test. My drink tasted like flat sprite; not bad at all. The sitting there for an hour sucked. I read a book, but they make the seats so uncomfortable! Hope I passed!!

8/5/08 I was very very stressed out by my family, and this caused my usual quiet Logan to go nuts all day. He was kicking so much and so hard that it hurt at times. I usually don't feel him very much at all. But it was kind of nice because Mike got to feel him kicking for quite a long time....he'd only felt him once before!!

8/12/08 Found out I failed my glucose test. Kind of angry it took my doc so long to tell me about this! I'm going on the 16th for the 3 hour test.

8/14/08 Doctor's appointment. I'm measuring right on target. Logan is head down. And only gained 1 lb since last appointment, so up a total of 19 lbs now.

9/5/08 Doctors appointment was another short one. My belly measures perfectly at 34 weeks and my blood pressure was perfect. Gained 6 lbs the past 3 weeks...so up 25 lbs total...that shocks me! Go back the 15th for the strep B test...so not excited about that! lol. Logan has been squirming around alot these days; kind of hurts sometimes. I dropped about a week ago, so getting quite a bit of pressure down there and my poor bladder is not doing so good!
