HELLO EVERYONE

I am a brand new mommy to my beautiful mixed son named Christian. I gave birth to him after 17 and a half hours on June 27....I was due June 25!

My hubby and I are both military and after 6 weeks I have to return to work.

I am breastfeeding but unfortunately will need to give him formula the hours I am at work because although my milk supply is great, pumping just isnt working out so great.

I would love to be a stay-at-home mommy but the timing isn't right...

I would love to make new friends here so feel free to ask anything!

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

Same thing happened to my daughter. I called the pediatrician and they said to give her 1 tsp of Karo syrup two times a day. I only have to give it to her once though because it makes her poop a few hours later. Her gassiness is almost all gone now and this is the third day on it and she loves the taste mixed with her formula because it is sweet and babies love sweet tasting stuff.

I'm looking forward to being a mom for sure. It will be so weird, but like you said, I think well worth it. I'll let you know how the teething gel thing goes if I need to try it out anytime soon! ;)

I was having problems with my milk supply a couple of weeks after I had my baby, I hemmoraged and the blood loss caused my milk to dramatically decrease. I did some research and talked to my lactation nurse and decided to start talking fenugreek capsules. It can be found at most health food/vitamin stores. It has little to no side effects and really helped with my milk supply, so much so that my pediatrian told me to stop taking it after a couple of weeks because my baby was gaining so much weight. So if I were you I would continue to pump and feed often and if need be look into the fenugreek. Hope this helps.

I actually bought the Avent Isis hand pump and it works great. I also have a Medela electric and I must say that I actually get more milk with the hand pump. It is a little bit of work, but I can get about 4-5oz in 15 minutes.

hi and congrats!! I am still breastfeeding but what i do is i breastfeed before i go to work and as soon as i get home and at night so he can still get the good stuff.. Then he gets formula while I am working so he gets a lil bit of both worlds.. I am the same as u my milk supply is great but pumping is just too frustrating for me so i don't pump.. well good luck!

Hi there! Sounds like your little one is going through a growth spurt! It will calm down again soon. The extra nursing and fussing usually happens during growth spurts, another thing is maybe he is teething. Not sure, but could be any of those, I hope it calms down soon. I know how trying times like that can be. Hang in there, and congrats on your little man. He is adorable. Erin

hey i saw your post about supplementing with formula. my baby is breastfed but she gets about 1 bottle of formula per day because i'm at the gym or something and her dad is watching her. I chose to use Enfamil Lipil because it's fortified with Iron which I lack in my diet, as well as the DHA and ARA which comes from fish and eggs, also things I don't eat. She hasn't spit up a single time on that formula, so maybe that would work for you as well.

he's a cutie. Returning to work sucks doesn't it. I had to go back to work last wednesday. I am fortunate enough to get to pump at work though which is good cuz my baby hates formula so only breast milk for her... how are you feeling? Babies sure do grow fast huh.

h brandie.......how r u doing? hows christian.?actually i was having some preterm contractions and lots of lower pelvic pressure which makes me scared ...i have checked with doctors and mifwife they simply says to take rest...because my placenta is low lying ...so i am trying my best to make it to as long as i can.....no dear i didnt picked any names yet because since i dont know the gender of mmy baby and thought will decide it at the moment when baby is born.....christian name is quite cute .....take care and keep smiling :))

yeah brandie 12 weeks to go but seems like long long way.....waiting to hold my little angel ....but also having some complaints of preterms ....so really scared........wanna make it atleast to 37 weeks.....hope it does happen....hows little boy doing........might be getting strong and active day by day....take care.......:))
