My Daughter - who remains nameless (thats why I've not posted anything yet), was born on 22nd @09.47 I'm going to do a birth story, she was born within 75mins, and I had just walked onto the labour ward (my waters went in the corridor!) and she was delivered in 5mins, weighing 8lb7oz (not the 10-11lb they expected). Big Brother & Sister (+ Daddy) are very proud.

Hi, Had the sweep yesterday, had the 'nudge nudge' this morning (kids were at nannys wooohooo) & had a curry tonight - STILL NOTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, Apparently that going into labour within 48hrs of a sweep is misleading, I had a sweep last week and this was my second one today, M/W explained that normally sweeps are done after 40/41 weeks therefore labour is within reach and whether the sweep starts things or just hurries them along is not known.. My one isn't even engaged yet, although I am 2cm dialated with a favourable cervix (that does tickle me, saying that), that just means that I am ready to give birth down below as soon as the baby is ready to make an entrance.. . . . . . . had a scan this morning too, now they think the baby might not be as large as 10-11lb, still big but smaller than first thought.

Hiya,

I'm due to be induced on the 21st, It's my sons 4th birthday on the 20th, I wanted them to be the same date, and my other half thought it was more fair that they had different dates (although doctor choose the date).

Week 38 tomorrow, already! I am going for another sizing scan, and Midwife (for a second sweep) tomorrow, I was going through my notes yesterday and realised the only bloods I've had done was when I had my combined test back in October, with my other two pregnancies I remember being used like a pin cushion..
Have you a birth plan, Mine is do whatever necessary, but NOT to keep telling me 'one last push'! - It frustrates me cause I think it's all over then they say it again, I asked last pregnancy why they say that apparently it's the last push of that contraction,NOT the birth itself (which is what I thought!!!)

Where are you with what you're being told? Are you still up for C/S on the 24th? Are you organised? LOL

Hi Britmom. .........(04-04-2008........

I had my scan at the beginning of last week and the baby was 8lb, so estimation would now be 9lb as the baby gains about half a pound a week at the end of pregnancy. Wednesday I have the hospital antenatal app. to give me an inducing date. my other kids are now on school hols til the 20th (which is my sons 4th birthday), so I'm hoping that baby will be born in holidays! ...

Hi Britmom,
When I was pregnant with my son I didn't realise a broken shoulder was a major issue, I now realise due to a quick read of the midwifes website that it's a lot more serious! I was really lucky with my son as he didn't actually get stuck although his shoulder was only noticed as the pediatrician was going through the discharge test. As I have a history of large babies I am going to be induced early and 'they' say that as my body seems to be able to cope with large births we are going to try for a normal birth, which I'm happy yet nervous about.... I hope everything goes well for the both of us....
