Due Date: March 1st - Today. Ask me if I've had my baby...go ahead, just ask....

Well I guess I should `update ` my page...although I must say, this would be the first time! Good to document these things right ie get out your frustrations! Well, I have been having `issues ` for past two months. Which, in the big scheme of things is better than issues for 9 months! Working full time in a male dominated work environment, becoming pregnant and having things keep me away from doing 100% is quite frustrating. Our CEO (who is also a woman) is expecting her third child. Her husband stays at home. S he basically works right up until labour, pops the kid out and is back at work one week later. I should have asked her if the week she is taking off is in actuality 5 business days or 7, LOL! In any event. I had planned on working until my final day, however my body rebelled and for the past 8 weeks has only allowed me to sleep for upto 4 hours at a stretch.

Whether bedtime is 8 p.m., I wake at 12.

Try at 10 p.m. I wake at 2.

Good practice for when baby is here...not so good for when I go to bed at 9, awake at 1 and stay awake as I am in at work by 6. So, via doctors orders, I finished work 4 days early. I must say it is quite the relief. But of course, the `baby deadline ` being March 1st and producing no such baby is really bringing me down!

Coincidence, perhaps, but for the last 5 days, I have been having MASSIVE back pains and contractions but the good news is now I can nap throughout the day :)

No `bloody show `,

No additional vaginal discharge,

Nothing that would indicate that my status is progressing.

What I HAVE been going through is major mood swings, limiting communication with the outside world, heartburn back with a vengance, nausea, crazy shooting pains up my left butt cheek (WHAT is THAT from???), vaginal distress (crazy pains shooting up there too), lack of sexual contact, the infuriating inability to sppon behind Jeff and cleaning house...organizing.

Our cleaner showed up yesterday and basically asked WHAT she could clean, as I had had a go at the house for the past 48 hours. Jeff has been prone to mood swings as well lately...we `ve had a few `talks ` but since leaving work, I have relaxed therefore he has relaxed. My doctors are quite pleased with how everything is progressing, (at least they are happy) however having had no internals done, no doctor scheduled U/S since 23 weeks, and being very particular (and yes, some would call me type A and say I am overly competitive), I am going CRAZY!!!!

I actually faked a reason to go to L&D yesterday. I was hoping beyond hope they would take pity on me, and do something to induce labour. The thought was also in my mind that I might be like Sirat and show up with back pains and find out I was 4 cm dilated. No such luck. The doctors are again `pleased ` with how everything is going.

I am slightly effaced, and not even the tiniest bit dilated.

WHAT is the deal with all these back pains and contractions then? It is actually quite heartbreaking...ok see, there I go, melodramatic and irrational. But dammit...enough is enough! Baby, you're in big trouble buster!!!

Another day, another sleepless night. My life seems to be revolving around not being in labour, and not having work to distract me is causing me to be a wee bit more obsessive than typical.

The thing I hate is that I have no idea what labour feels like, although I have been told by many mothers that when it happens, there is no mistaking it. I wish it was like a switch either on or off, or like a thermometer, when you hit this temp you are done. The anxiety of waiting, wanting, wishing seems unbearable.

Always heving been a `list ` person, my latest list looks something like this (keeping in mind alot of these things I have completed at 3 a.m.):

Things to Do: March 2, 2008

Finish Income Taxes - check.

Research on DayCare/Homes - check.

Stock up freezer - check.

Pick up mail at Condo - check.

Buy DayTimer - check.

Take SUV in for service...

Have baby.....

I HATE not being able to check things off my list!!!

So I see my Doc today...have written down what I have been feeling, and what I want to know. For some bizarre reason, everytime I go there, I forget something! It's like taking an exam, and afterwards you slap the forehead with a "Oh yeah...."

Hope to get `the sweep ` done today. Have an acupuncture appointment as well. It `s funny, poking got me in this state in the first place, and now poking seems to be the only thing moving things forward again!

Today I'm actually feeling alright.... today! LOL
When I was reading your comment I was scoffing down BBQ Crisps, so the words 'poor nutrition' I tried to block out hahaha!!! After having two overdue babies I really thought this one would be early.... or at least on time. I've had shows....plug....intense contractions....nesting, oh well, she will arrive... possibly walking and talking but arrive lol
I'm up till 'bout 1am every night then up at 5am, with toilet trips in between, so I can relate with you :D
As your due date is, sorry was :( ,3 ays before mine I hope your little man makes an appearance real soon!!!!!
How long will 'they' hehe let you go overdue in Canada?

Hi lady ^^ I was induced on Thursday night. They had me go up at 7pm but didn't even put the Cervidil in until 9:30ish. It didn't do much but give me some moderate, irregular contractions..made NO changes in my cervix at all. At around 5:45am, my water broke on it's own but STILL nothing happened lol my contractions got a bit more intense but nothing that I couldn't handle at all. They put an epidural in saying that if i relaxed and slept, that it would help me.

It did somewhat but i made sloooooooooow progress. At around 4:30pm, i was 3-4cm and they decided to finally give me a boost with pitocin. That did the trick and at 4:50pm Evan was born! He was 8lbs 3oz and 18 inches long. I'm so happy to have him here^^

Hey...we got home from the hospital on the 18th...4 weeks but glad we're home.
Phoenix is growing so fast but still looks like a newborn. I have to keep in mind he is 7 weeks behind..so the way I look at it...is that I had him as a baby 7 weeks longer ;)
He is such a good baby and doesn't cry very much. I'll add more pics.
SO your little boy isn't anxious as much as you are for an appearance I bet!?! Before you know it, it'll be over and then you'll be wondering where the time went. Phoenix is over 7 weeks and he isn't suppose to be here until March 10th. I would have been HUGE!!!

I, too am looking for any little sign that my baby is coming... ANYTHING! Today I think I might be 'nesting'. Had an irresistable urge to SCRUB my fridge top to bottom. I'm up every 4 hours... or less, sleep deprivation is a killer, it totally affects our well being and emotions.
When I had my 8 yr old a friend of mine had twins, she still to this day can not remember the first 18mths-2 yrs of their lives!! Your little man will choose his birthday soon...... the one day dayle(hubby) said he didn't want to have our baby was today, our first anniversay..... it might be insentive enough for her to make an appearance :D

Hello Butterblocksmom!! I read your story! I know how you feel! Just think that the date is so close! No much waiting anymore.
I was so desperate to see Maximo that it is still a dream to see him.
I had a long labor and a very short delivery. I can't believe how fantastic it is. Even with the pain and all I can say I would do it again! (But I have 3 kids already)...
Enjoy your delivery the best you can!! And take a very good look into your baby's eyes when they place him on your belly right after delivery... Its just amazing how fascinated they are about their new world!!! I made the staff clean him and check him on my belly to be able to hold him!!! I couldn't let go!! Then I had to give him to get his weight and I don't know what else they do to them...

I can't believe you faked a reason to go to the hospital!! What did you say to them? I hope you have your little one really soon (:

I couldnt even imagine going up until the due date..I feel sooo bad for you! Didi you try scrubbing walls and walking and climbing stairs? Sometimes that helps..it worked for me last time..lol
I bet he will come this week..they always decide to come when they are ready..not u..them..lol
I am feeling like almost 9 weeks is an eternity to wait for this guy of mine! But we are moving in 3 weeks..so it will make the time pass for me! I cant wait to decorate the nursery..I told my husband it is the first thing we are doing!!!
Other than that, I am ok I guess..looking forward to getting a sono March 10th to see his lil face..we havent had a sono since 18 weeks..so I cant wait to see him.
Will your dr induce you at 41 weeks? Thats what my doctor told me they would do if I ever went over..why go an extra week though, the baby should be all baked by 40 weeks geez! Anyway, hang in there..cant wait to hear the news when you have your lil one...SOOON!!!

Hi Karyn! You sound like you've had enough! The best thing to do is forget that you're 'due date' is today! It's better to think that you're due AROUND the beginning of March. I know that sounds hard, but it really helped me with my first one who was 8 days late. They didn't induce me until I was 7 days over. My doctor this time said he won't induce me until 10 days later. I know it's frustrating, but it's actually better if you let little butterblock come out when he wants to. You'll have a more relaxed, content baby.
Does the pain in your bum feel like sciatica? That's very common and so ANNOYING!!!!

I was talking to a maternity nurse at a wedding recently and she said the common factor with all the women she saw who had an easy delivery was that they were relaxed. Try and do some fun/relaxing things and enjoy the last few days of your pregnancy. Believe it or not, you'll actually miss being pregnant! I just went for a lovely pedicure/leg massage at a fancy spa and it was SO what I needed.

Oh, one other thing. When my son was overdue, the most annoying/stressful thing to me was that friends and relatives kept phoning me, 'Did you have the baby yet? You're STILL pregnant? Hurry up and have the baby', etc. So, this time I'm leaving a message on our answering machine saying, 'We're out and we're not at the hospital. Don't worry, we'll phone you as soon as we have any news.'

We went out for an early dinner... and actually got a table right away, which helped me not fall asleep.
Today I'm distracting myself by going to movies with girlfriends and doing a bit of shopping. My fiance is taking me out to our favourite sushi restaurant tonight for spicy tofu...
(meanwhile I am still engaging in natural labour induction techniques... have even resorted to using the breast pump to stimulate the nips ;) )

Maximo is at home but with a lighted blanket. The jaundice didn't go down so tomorrow we have to go back to the pediatrician to check his blood again. Not good since they get it from his lil heel.
Hopefully tomorrow he will be better.

HII... So how are you doing?! I'm 40 and a day today...went to the doctor's office and they finally checked to see if I was dilated (thank God they don't do it before 40 because it hurt so much!!) Well to my surprise... my cervix is closed and have not dilated one bit :( but they did an ultrasound and the baby looks great and happy! So how are you doing?! Any pains yet?

i sure do feel as if I am ready to pop! I sleep on the couch now because it'seasier to get in and out of then my bed!!! how are you feeling? my dr decided to induce me sunday night, but said it might take a couple of days because my cervix isn't dialated at all. I am ready! I can't wait!

BTW, talking of fingers resembling sausages the cockney slang for feet it 'plates of meat' now I kid you not my dear and funny friend, I am walking around with a butcher's shop worth of mutton and offal at the end of my legs. We are talking the most swollen lower legs, ankles, feet with these ugly little pigs trotters hanging off the end. This would be cannibals delight I tell thee?????? Bit sick that actually!?!?!?!?!
