Hello all! Excellent day today. Bunny Bun had a really great scan this morning and it's official- Bunny is a Girl! We're so happy. Honestly it didn't matter what we were having, only that the baby is healthy. Now it's time to start up the shopping and decorating the nursery. Love and hugs to all and I hope that you're having a good day today. We are!

xoxo

3/6/08

Hello all. Had a bit of a scare on Tuesday. Headaches, saw those little silvery stars and was light headed all day. I thought I may have been coming down with this flu that's been sweeping the lands-After work I came home to try and lay down, to only become restless and worrisome. I went to triage and found out that I was dehydrated and my blood pressure was up. I felt bad because all day long, I tried to wait it out thinking that my "off" feeling would pass. Eventually it did, however there could have been something more serious happening to us and I didn't heed the warnings. I'm grateful that this was a minor issue and can be avoided in the future by monitoring my salt intake...no protein in the urine and I'm not pre-eclamptic as of this point.

On a more pleasant note, we find out what we are having this Tuesday- can't wait. I think we are having a boy- Daddy wants another little girl. I'm happy either way. We have a couple names picked out. Dante Lee and Nya Belle... I'll post again soon! thanks for taking the time to read my blog!

NT Scan went well today...Bunny Bun is doing well. Wasn't as active as we would have liked to see and that's ok. Melted my heart today, that's for sure.

Will post again later. Take care all.

3/7- WHAT on earth is it with me and mustard? I want it on everything. I `ve never really been a fan, but that `s changed...oh well-I `m sure I `ll get over it.

Wednesday, 12 Mar
I `m still smiling from ear to ear...

Friday, 28 Mar
ahhhh deep breath here. Tuesday during a cervical length measurement ultrasound it was discovered that my cervix was starting to funnel from the inside out. I was consulted on getting a cerclage- which this exact happening was what we were hoping to catch with the biweekly scans- and I elected to have one. We did the works- spinal block-cut away and pushed up part of my bladder to get the stitch up higher and we made it out ok with minimal discomfort. I will tell you this, I knew for a long time that my cervix wasn `t `normal ` and that I was going to have issues with this pregnancy- however my dr `s really didn `t seem to understand what I was trying to tell them. An incompetent cervix/soft mushy cervix like mine doesn `t `look ` incompetent on an ultra sound. It wasn `t until I was on the operating table and they manually examined my cervix were they able to determine that the fibers of my cervix were to flexible they could have put a finger through it right to the baby. This catch in the changes of my body were meant to happen. I believe that angels were watching over us on Tuesday. I pray daily and thank God that this opportunity was given and allowed to be taken. We `re on modified bedrest and will find out this afternoon after my follow up scan if I can return to work on Monday. I `m hoping that I am able to go back. At the very least this baby needs to stay in for 7 more weeks according to the surgeon. I `m not so good at the layng around thing. I will update later on this afternoon.

Friday, 28 Mar
follow up scan went well. We are able to return to work Monday with very limited activity. The cerclage is in a good position and Bunny Bun is doing well too. Her h/r was 166 this afternoon. To all of those that have shared their cerclage stories and experiences, thank you so much for your input. It helped me become a better health advocate for myself and I appreciate it- we appreciate it so much. Thank you for being around for us. xoxo

babytauri - Thursday, 12 June
Hey thanks for checking on me! I'm doing good! I'm glad to finally be getting closer to my 2nd trimester! I broke down and bought one of those baby heart dopplers and I LOVE it! I listen to the heartbeat everyday! People get them from other sources and are having problems, but I got mine from babybeat.com and after a little hunting the first time around, I found the heartbeat! Is it true what they say- the higher the heartbeat, the more likely it's a girl? Do you remember what the heartrate range was for your baby in the first trimester? Mine has been 186, 174 and 167, and even when it's fluctuating on the doppler, it never dipped under 164! If it's a girl, I have NO CLUE what we're gonna name her! LOL!

AChance2Dream - Thursday, 12 June
Thanks so much Ill let you know what happens on friday!

AChance2Dream - Wednesday, 11 June
Yeah they just told me it can happen but that was the only reason they gave me. Even when I went to my doctors the next week she didn't have an answer for me just said she would add they they needed to look at my placenta when I went in for my U/S so that is what I am waiting to hear about. I don't even remember her looking at my placenta during the u/s though when I thought about it later. I just wonder where all that blood would have came from even if it can just happen? The only thing I can think of is from the plecenta or from what you suggested. I really need make sure I ask questions when I go in Friday because I always tend to forget because I get all caught up just being at the doctors. What did you experience when it happened to you?

AChance2Dream - Wednesday, 11 June
I actually go to see my doctor on friday and that is when I get all my test results and the results of my u/s back. It is just strange to me because I am in my second trimester and never had any bleeding before...It was just that one time but everyone acted like it was no big deal but it was a lot of blood (at least to me it was a lot of blood). I guess I will just have to wait until friday to see what the doctor says.

phillygirl2 - Wednesday, 11 June
Oh.....Just remember to stay calm and things will work out. Like you said at least your in that safe zone

phillygirl2 - Wednesday, 11 June
OMG - that just made me so excited i think. I am sure you have called the dr and everything already. What do the contractions feel like? he best thing to do is to stay calm, it may possibly be early labor but just know that everything will be okay. Let me know

phillygirl2 - Wednesday, 11 June
I feel you on not knowing what you want. Food has not been kind to me because when i finally decide what i want either they don't have it or it's not really good at all. if you take a nap please enjoy it, sleep an extra 30 minutes for me too

phillygirl2 - Wednesday, 11 June
thanks. I am having a way better day than yesterday. How are you today?

fabforty - Wednesday, 11 June
You too. Have a good time tonight!

grumpyrunner - Wednesday, 11 June
Hi! I'm doing good, a few contractions. Just waiting for labor to begin, they said it could be anytime or they will induce me on the 20th if I don't go before then. When they took it out, it wasn't too bad, quick at least. I think the exam after was more painful. I am 2 centimeters so far. I hope all is going well for you. Good luck, keep me updated.

fabforty - Wednesday, 11 June
Sorry Natalie, it's Lisa. I guess I assumed that the name thing had come up before now, you know the pregnancy brain! LOL. I feel like I know you and you are now officially my friend, LOL ;)))

fabforty - Wednesday, 11 June
That's a good idea. He will love being at work with Mom! Mini golfing, huh? That sounds like fun. I used to love doing that, not sure if I can keep up now though, LOL.

fabforty - Tuesday, 10 June
When does your leave begin? I'm trying to work until the last day but people are on my nerves and I'm in HR! I literally am having a hard time working from home these days...I know I should'nt complain since i don't have to leave the house, but I'm on the phone and email from 7 AM until 8 PM somedays...ughhhhh!

fabforty - Tuesday, 10 June
Don't even mention it...Work is driving me nuts, I can't wait for my LOA! I'm sure you read my blog on hubby last week, LOL. He has since apologized for being a real pain in the a**. I am trying to be patient with both he and the teenager in the house, but it is a real task. Don't feel guilty about your time without your son, we deserve a break! My hubby is taking John camping and fishing for Father's Day, Sunday at Lacrosse(somewhere past Wisconsin Dells) and will be back Monday. I'm thinking that will be my vacation:)

phillygirl2 - Tuesday, 10 June
Thank you so much. I knew pregnancy was hard work but i didn't expect the depression part.

You have such a handsome little man

fabforty - Tuesday, 10 June
Yeah, I've been craving Margaritas for the last few months...who am I kidding, for the last 8 months! My hubby jokes that margaritas helped with the conception process!

fabforty - Tuesday, 10 June
Can't you just see me in the hospital after I deliver with Jordan in one hand and a margarita in the other?, LOL!!!! I'll try to at least hold out until Iv'e back home for a few weeks!

fabforty - Tuesday, 10 June
Thanks Sweetie! Let's hope Jordan isn't the one that finally ages me, LOL!

fabforty - Tuesday, 10 June
That storm was the worse I have been in. My son and I went to a graduation in downtown Milwaukee and by the time we drove home, (my 17 year old was driving) I was a basket case! He did a great job and all in the horrible down pour, flooded streets, highways and the wind, but it is really a life changing event when your teenage son is driving you and refused to let me drive in the storm since I'm pregnant (he is like a dad!) Very funny :)

Sorry about the hearburn I live with Tum on the nightstand now as I wake with it everynight. Wow- stitches come out in 4 weeks, huh? That is truly amazing, time is flying by! Do you really feel ready? i just did a once over of Jordans room and I think I need alot of stuff. I promised not to shop until after my shower this weekend, but then it is on!!!

By the way I finally posted preggers pics, I feel huge but it is so worth it...check them out.

fabforty - Tuesday, 10 June
Hey! Just thought I'd check on you with all of the horrible rain storms we had in Wsconsin this weekend...Our home was not effected, thank God! How'are you and Miss Nya doing?

eastern-Canadian-Lady - Saturday, 7 June
Well, it's good to know that the cerclage didn't hurt, bc if I need one it will be an option that won't frighten me too much. I thought you said you were leaking fluid (oops!) which made me think that your water had broken but only a little bit. Maybe I am confusing you with somebody else that wrote to me. I have the worst memory, LOL. Sorry about that.
Preterm labour last time must have made you worry more about what would happen this time around. Your pregnancy wasn't easy this time either, but at least the doctor is monitoring and able to do things to help this time around for a better result.
My friend was trying to tell me last summer that she had had a procedure done which she explained as sewing her cervix shut so that she wouldn't get pregnant. I wonder if cerclage is what she was talking about. It's weird though bc she wasn't pregnant when she had it done, and now she is and due in a few weeks, so obviously the procedure didn't work. I am confused about it now, maybe I will ask her.
It's amazing to me that a woman's can go through everything it does during pregnancy and then go back to how it was before! I have pretty much the same list as you, except the clottting and shots: spotting, cramping, nausea, weight loss.
Instead of high blood pressure, I have low blood pressure (which I have all the time anyway) so the doc said it's a good thing bc it likely will help me to carry the baby closer to my due date. (and not to have gestational diabetes either. Boy, I really want to know if I failed the second test!)
My hubby is my strength too!! I don't know how I could have made it without him. He is so calm and rational. On Thursday, I was having a really hard time in the morning. I was a complete mess. I was really ill, crying, emotional, we had discussion about his daughter (from a previous marriage). I left the house to take our daughter to school. I couldn't look at him or talk to him without crying, so I just left without saying a word. I got her to school, but I felt so awful that I drove to his work and parked.
His car wasn't there yet. When he pulled in, he got in the van with me. After talking for a few minutes, he decided that I needed him more than work did. I had to pee and was having contractions, so I went to use the washroom in his work. The people there were concerned and asked if I was ok. He told them I was having contractions, so they let him go with me. We left and I started to feel a bit better. We got to talking, then I was so hungry that I was getting sicker again. So he took me out to brekafast then we hung out for a bit. I felt so much better afterwards then he went to work for the afternoon. That was the only time I ever let him take time off from work for me. I really needed it. I feel lucky to have him!
It's good that you have a name already. I don't for a boy. I ask everyone I see what their boy's name is. I never had a name if the baby had been a boy last time either. h and I reflected on it for a long long time, even right up IN the delivery room! It's a good thing it was a girl. We are no better off this time for a boy, but we have a good idea about a girl's name. We had Allyson Rebecca last time. nto telling this time until we make up our minds for sure bc last time everybody gave their opinions and it was annoying. I want it to have some French in it. This time I asked one of my friends what name she had, and it's good thing that I did, bc it was a name we were thinking of using.
Do you know what the reading is supposed to be BEFORE the glucose test? Mine was 4.2 after 8 hrs of fasting. I don't know what it was after the first or second hour. Last time, the ob/gyn said it was 8.8 after the test. I am just curious. I don't know if the reading before will have any effect on what the reading will be after the dextrose is given.
How was your baby shower? Did you get a lot of things that you needed? I think I will wait until after the baby is here before I have mine. I'm thinking maybe around Thanksgiving (early to mid October here) so about a month and a half after baby arrives. If I have it after the baby is born then I can get things that are gender specific. I wonder how emotional I will be then. I hope baby sleeps a lot!
I must run. ttyl

eastern-Canadian-Lady - Friday, 6 June

WOW, it's sounds like you have it much worse than I do! i wasn't given anything when I went to the hospital with contractions and spotting. They said it was too early, and that if the baby came that soon, that they wouldn't be able to do anything to save the baby.

My doc isn't doing weekly scans either. Everytime I go, they do the doppler test to hear the heart beat. Was the cerclage painful? My doc basically told me that I wouldn't make it to my due date, so I wonder if I will need one. Once your waters break, I thought that you had to have the baby in 24 hrs bc of the risk of infection. If it's just a slow leak maybe the risk is much smaller. I would have been so scared to be in your shoes!! What week were you in?
They basically told me the same thing about filling up on liquids, but not the bathroom part, LOL, that just came naturally.

We did the sneaking love stuff too. we waited for over a month, and before I had the complications it was already a month, so we had nothing for two months. I kind of thought the same thing as your h about the trans-vag wand. If the tech can probe, so can h. we were gentle too. I didn't tell the doc, we are not very active anyway in that department bc of the contractions that I get constantly. I didn't think it was worth mentioning, except once when I was in the E.R. I spoke with the E.R. doc about it. He said it was fine as long as I was comfortable. that was all of the convincing that I needed, LOL.

I am fluffy. I was 240 when I started out this time. My ideal weight I think is 135, or 140, but I am not sure. i am getting closer to the goal all the time, though not on purpose. The toilet was my best friend for months, and still is. My bowels worked over time, and made me RUN to the bathroom within ten minutes of finishing (or starting) to eat. When it wasn't one end, it was the other.

What is the belt supposed to do? Last week during my ultrasound, I was told that my baby is head down.I don't think it is anymore bc where the baby used to kick there is no movement ever, but the baby kicks at my cervix just like on apr 3rd. I actually saw the baby kicking my cervix during the ultrasound that night. It was strange to see that!
I don't have an excuse as to why I am long winded. I just am, LOL. I think maybe it's bc I don't feel like anybody else understands like another expectant mother would.
I have to eat right now, bc I am notallowed to eat until tomorrow at noon, bc of the glucose test. anyway, hope you ahve a good day tomorrow. ttyl

I don't get short-term disability :'( They said I found out I was pregnant before I became eligible.. sucks.. so I don't get any type of pay for being on maternity leave.. we are just trying to save as much money as possible. I've been soo very tired the past couple of days.. I dunno what it is. I'm really considering asking my DR to decrease my hours at work.. but I dunno.. we could really use the money. Well, keep in touch!! xoxo
