Well, Ladies....I am back after my yearlong hiatus!!!

Kender is doing well. He is eight months old today and into EVERYTHING. He just started cruising along furniture and opens every cabinet and drawer he can find. He has said "Mama", "hi", and "hey" and just learned to wave bye-bye. He keeps me VERY BUSY because he rarely sits still. We are recovering from the fire that sent me off of i-am-pregnant last year and have recently started renovating an older house on Lake Murray. On the whole life is starting to get back on track and I can't wait to find out what all of my old buddies are up to!!!

Oh... I had the orange flavor. Yucky! I wish I could have had jelly beans. Damn, I think you just gave me a craving. I am starting to get scared. Since I went into the hospital I have lost 5 pounds. I was only on the IV for a day. I have been eating all the time and just sitting here. I figured that would be putting on the pounds. Do you think it is bcuz I am losing muscle and gaining fat? I hope not. I can see it now... One morining I am going to get up and my body will look like a woman's who's had gastric bypass and she loses the weight but all her skin hangs off. Ewww... Think happy thoughts Lisa! I am sorry that you didn't enjoy Chicago. I know exactly what you are talking about though. When I go somewhere new I want to eat at hole in the wall or unique restaurants. Well, have a safe drive... which it should be now that I know Kent is driving...j/k!

lisatek82 - Wednesday, 7 Mar
Yeah, that would suck... So, how was Chicago? I would love to go there sometime. I have never been. Good luck on the drive home. PLease don't run into anything or anyone for that matter:)

lisatek82 - Wednesday, 7 Mar
I had the 1 hour... I wish I would have known that. I broke out in a hot sweat afterward because it made my stomach so upset. Have fun in Chicago. I am jealous.... Here I am on bedrest and you're out having fun. Not Fair!!!

Hey there... Have you guys made it back yet? I went to the Dr. today and my cervix is still closed... YEAH! I was in the waiting room and I started having bad contractions. I sent Chris up to the receptionist to tell her I needed to lay down ASAP. I had my glucose test done too. Have you had yours yet? Yuck! The stuff that they make you drink tastes like a melted candy. I almost threw up. The Dr said that I am doing a lot better... Thank God. Looks like little Parker is going to enjoy the ride just a little longer. Talk to you soon. Lisa

luckymommy - Wednesday, 7 Mar
oh goodness you let him eat white castle and then you had to ride in the car with him!!! lol

luckymommy - Wednesday, 7 Mar
i had 2 last night it was so good! daniel said that he wanted me to make them again to night :)

lisatek82 - Tuesday, 6 Mar
I asked Chris and he said that weekend would be fine... Did you make it to Chicago or are you guys taking a few days and enjoying the drive??? How far away is it anyways?

lisatek82 - Tuesday, 6 Mar
Parker is fine...I haven't had any contractions today. Not so far at least. I had some bad ones yesterday and had to take the meds 3 times. How is your trip so far? Make sure to move around a lot so you don't get kankles:) My mom is coming this Sunday, but if it is good with you do ya'll want to come out next Sunday? The guys can grill something for dinner and go out on the boat for a little while if the weather is nice while we chat. Let me know!

Shirley and Maya - Tuesday, 6 Mar
no problem and let me know if you have any questions. I saw and wrote down so many things that weekend (when she gave birth). I kept insisting that my husband write it all down so I wouldnt forget.

jill - Tuesday, 6 Mar
I would love to see more of the country too. We knew when getting pregnant that it would probably be put on hold for a while. It's worth it. Your husband sounds like me. I always see people I know when I go out. Which I guess can be a bad or good thing :)

luckymommy - Tuesday, 6 Mar
Thats what im making for dinner cheese coneys!! lol but a 3-way sure does sound good right about now :)

Things to bring that aren’t written in any book: - Change! Bring 10$ worth of change with you, even more if you want. If your baby is born later in the day when the hospital cafeteria or stores are closed then all you’re felt with are vending machines. And when you’re in the hospital for hours and hours, chips, pretzels and coke become your dinner. Oh, and if your partner is a coffee drinker, he will probably spend 5$ alone at those coffee machines! (In my family, they must have spent about 20$ in coffee!) - Fruits and light foods! As the mother-to-be, if you are a fussy eater and don’t like airplane food then you probably wont like hospital food either. Right after birth, they will probably give you something to eat so if you aren’t going to eat their food, you should at least have something ready to eat. - Baby onsies! Now listen to me on this. Don’t even bother spending your money on those onsies that you have to put over the baby’s head and then button at the bottom (you know, the ones that usually come in a pack of 3 or 5). Don’t buy those at all! Not now and not for later! Buy the ones that button up from the top to the bottom OR the ones that button on the side. Defintely NOT the ones that you put on over the head like a t-shirt! My sister-in-law had only packed those ones because that’s what she bought and that’s what people gave her but first of all, they are SOOO hard to put on a newborn. Newborn arms are all bent and don’t really straighten out so easily so its almost impossibly to squeesh their little arms into the sleeve. Just buy the other ones, trust me on this one! (p.s make sure everything is washed before putting it on the baby). In my sister-oin-laws case, I went out running to buy clothing yesterday and washed them quickly to bring them back to the hospital. - Make sure you cut any tags off your baby clothes before getting to the hospital. There’s the tags at the tops like on a t-shirt but some baby clothing have tags on the side which are clearly marked with scissors to cut off. We didn’t know that and I was running to the nurse’s station for scissors to cut them all off! - Have a case of 24 bottles of water in your car. I am not KIDDING. Hospital air is so dry, especially when you’re in there for hours and hours! Its either you spend 3$ on a case of water or spend 1$ on each bottle of water at the hospital. Between our family, we probably already finished 2 cases. (also bring juices for the next morning). - PADS. Find the biggest, thickest, longest pads you can find. The ones you would NEVER normally wear. The ones your grandmother would wear! You will need them (and p..s its normal to have extremely large blood cloths come out after birth. My sister-in-law had one that she said was the size of a grapefruit!) - Dark clothing. Because of all the bleeding, bring your darkest jogging suit or sweat pants and bring a few of them. Its normal to bleed through them, especially because you’re sitting or lying down on the bed for 2 days. - Burp cloths for baby. Ok I never read this in any book and I want to share it with you. After birth, a baby still has amniotic fluid inside its body, even hours and days afterwards and because of that, the baby barfs……..alot…..and often….and when you least expect it. The barf is yellowish and sometimes even has stuff in it (not food). We changed the babies clothing about 4 times before catching on that we needed burp cloths. - Girl babies can have a period! Oh yes, you read that right and I first read it at the hospital in a book they gave her and then I saw it for myself at the next diaper change. Because of our hormones that we pass on to the baby, its not only normal for a baby to have a small menstruation but also to have milk come out of her nipples! I haven’t seen the milk thing first hand but the period is about 2 drops of blood inside the diaper mixed with urine. The blood is orangish kind of but not bright red like you would think. - Nipple Ointment: By morning, my sister-in-laws nipples were so sore, sensitive and raw that she was in pain. The hospital here only gave her a small sample of the stuff and only AFTER she asked for it but definitely bring cream/ointment with you in your suitcase - And finally…….Vases. All her guests kept coming in with flowers, or sending flowers and no one brought vases with them! We had to call my other brother-in-law to bring some from all of our houses! Now she has about 5 vases at the hospital!

hehe it was me......did you want a copy?

lisatek82 - Monday, 5 Mar
Chris said to tell Kent to forget the car. He said it would be cheaper for him to hire you a personal driver. i put up new belly photos. Check out how stretched out my belly is in the darker one. I don't know how much bigger it can get.

lisatek82 - Monday, 5 Mar
Chris wants to know what happened with the garage. I hit a muffler pipe that was in the middle of the road at nighttime with my brand new Acura over a year ago if it makes you feel better.

lisatek82 - Monday, 5 Mar
Too funny... I don't have to worry about that...Along with bed rest I am also on Pelvic rest. Poor Chris! I really don't want to hear anymore about hoo has. Some things should be kept for private messages.

lisatek82 - Monday, 5 Mar
If it makes you feel any better I have done that at least 5 times. I would leak when I sneezed. It happened at wal-mart, in the car and at work. I feel your pain. Chris read your message when I was in the bathroom and I heard him cracking up. He said that he wouldn't even buy you a Chrysler. You need a bumper car. Well, good luck on your trip and I hope to hear from you when you get back. I hope you aren't driving:)j/k

lisatek82 - Monday, 5 Mar
You always manage to make me laugh. I can just imagine you exiting the offramp saying 'oop-sy'. I can say I haven't hit anything in like 7 yrs. Maybe a hummer would be good for you. Not the H3 though... You need the one's like the military has:)

lisatek82 - Monday, 5 Mar
Yeah those men are so overprotective. I actually bought my SUV 3 days B4 I found out I was pregnant. I had an Acura TSX that was barely a year old, but for some reason I was itching for a new car. I have the middle sized Lexus SUV and I love it. I have never had an SUV b4 nad I can't imagine not having all the room now. When I went to Babies R Us and picked up all the stuff my family bought it fit right in the back. Plus I could still hit up the outlet's. Talk about a miracle:) Well, have a safe trip. Are you guys driving there or flying one way???

luckymommy - Monday, 5 Mar

lisatek82 - Sunday, 4 Mar
Did you forget where you parked it or something???

lisatek82 - Sunday, 4 Mar
I would LOVE the company. I feel like I am going to start meowing and barking soon if I don't get out of this bed. I have gone from a job where I talk all day long to only talking to my animals. Just let me know when a good Sunday is for ya'll. My schedule is pretty open now. Guess what... When U come over you can wear Yoga pants and be comfy. It's not like we can go anywhere:) I will talk to you soon... Hope you had a great weekend!
