I AM SO SO SO SO EXCITED TO BECOME A MOMMY, THOUGH MY MOODS ARE UP AND DOWN ALL OF THE TIME, I AM EXCITED, SCARED, NERVOUSE, ALL AT THE SAME TIME, I AM IN A VERY COMMITTED AND STABLE RELATIONSHIP WICH IS WONDERFUL, BUT I AM ON THE VERGE OF GRADUATING COLLEGE THEREFORE I AM A LITTLE NERVOUSE ABOUT THAT. I HAVE HAD MANY MEDICAL PROBLEMS IN THE PAST AND AM HOPING THAT THIS TURNS OUT GOOD AND I CAN WELCOME MY BABY BOY OR GIRL INTO THIS WORLD IN JULY!!!!!!!!
JAN 2-- HAD MY FIRST DOCTOR APPT TODAY...WAS FUN THE USUAL EXAM...QUESTIONS, ANSWERS, PRENATAL CARE, AND WE TRIED TO HEAR THE HEART BEAT WHICH WE COULD NOT :(
JAN 3 -- HAD A SCHEDULED ULTRA SOUND THIS MORNING AT 8:00 A.M. WAS AMAZING...I GOT TO SEE MY LITTLE ONE ROLLING ALL OVER THE PLACE,,,ALMOST LOOKED LIKE THE BABY WAS DANCING AND WAVING AT ME. THE HEART BEAT WAS 171 HOW EXCITING.
FEB 7 -- HAD A DOCTORS APPOINTMENT TODAY, IT WAS AMAZING, I GOT TO MEET MY DOCTOR WHOM I AM VERY VERY PLEASED WITH. HE MADE ME FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE AND EXCITED FOR WHATS ABOUT TO COME. WE ALSO DID AN INTERNAL ULTRA SOUND AND I GOT TO SEE MY LITTLE ONE UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL. THE BABY WAS MOVING AROUND LIKE CRAZY...IT WAS SO WEIRD THAT I COULDN'T FEEL IT. THE BABY WAS ALSO SUCKING HIS/HER THUMB AND WE GOT A REALLY CUTE PICTURE. CANT WAIT TO FIND OUT WHAT IT IS.
MARCH 13 -- HAD A APPOINTMENT WITH A NURSE TODAY WE GOT TO HEAR THE HEART BEAT ON THE DOPPELAR FOR THE FIRST TIME...IT WAS 144 AND I HAVE A SCHEDULED ULTRASOUND ON TUESDAY THE 18TH AT 8:00AM I AM SO EXCITED TO FIND OUT WHAT WE ARE HAVING.
MARCH 18 -- HAD AN ULTRASOUND THIS MORNING THE BABY WAS AWESOME, EVERYTHING LOOK JUST LIKE IT SHOULD, THE HEART BEAT WAS 140 AND WE FOUND OUT WE ARE HAVEING A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MAY 13 -- WENT TO THE DOCTOR TODAY FOR THE DIABIETIES TEST...HAD TO DRINK THAT ICKY ORANGE STUFF...GOT A CALL BACK THAT MY BLOOD CAME BACK WITH A REALLY HIGH AMOUNT OF SURGAR. THEREFOR I HAVE TO GO BACK IN NEXT WEEK FOR FURTHER TESTING. I AM A LITTLE NERVOUSE I MUST SAY!!! I ALSO HAVE ANTOHER ULTRA SOUND TOMORROW TO GET MORE READINGS ON MY LITTLE BOY SINCE HE WAS SITTING FUNNY THEY DID NOT GET A GOOD PICTURE OF HIS WHOLE SPINE. HIS HEART BEAT WAS 140 AGAIN AS USUAL :)

I feel pretty normal now too. I haven't felt my baby move either. I think by 18 weeks we'll be feeling something. Enjoy it while it lasts!

That is the bliss that the 2nd trimester brings!! Enjoy it cuz you'll be uncomfortable again towards the end ;o) I have felt a little movement, nothing consistent but this is #3 for me and they say you feel them sooner w/ each one. GL to you!

It is completely normal to feel 'normal' again. It should last most of the second trimester. I think I have felt the baby move 1 time. Everyone is different but it is not the norm to feel it this early...give it 3 or 4 more weeks. Enjoy feeling normal for the time being, when you start getting bigger all the aches and pains set in...lol!

That's a cool idea! I was also thinking of giving my report as usual and then mention in it that 'I blocked out on my calendar the end of July and all of August for my 6 weeks of maternity leave'. I always wonder how much people pay attention and that would certainly be one way!

Hello! Just saw your post about the fetal monitor. I live in Canada and rented one from a website called bellybeats.com, they are out of California. It arrived in less than 5 days and is awesome. When my bladder is not full it can take some time to find the heartbeat, but first thing in the morning it is loud and clear. It is $25 per month (they have a digital one for $45 per month but all it does is tell you your beats per minute). On the $25 one, you can time the number of beats in 10 seconds and multiply it by 6. Really easy. Beware though...you may detect your heart beat of about 90 beats per minute and panic. The babies will be much faster, at least over 150 per minute. The reason you can hear your heartbeat is because of the placenta. Good luck - it is so worth it to hear our baby every day!

Thanks for your message, I rented the fetal doppler from www.tummytickles.com. They are based out of Abbotsford, BC, but I think they would have delivery to anywhere in N.America. My husband and I bought a monitor at Babies R us, but it only works when you are 21 weeks or more, so this 'official' one we rented will put my crazy mind at ease until then. Tummy Tickles was an awesome company to work with and once we're done with the rental we simply put the unit back in the box and they even pay to have it returned, so go for it and have fun!!!

Congrats on your lil one. I remember my first child I was in cloud 9 though out the whole pregnancy. Im excited for you sometimes it will be hard but, enjoy it because believe me once you have the baby you will miss the lil one being in your belly.:)

Thanks for the message...the titled uterus thing has not given me any 'issues' at all. Not with my first son, nor with any of my cycles, so not being able to find the heartbeat was kind of scary. The Dr. said everything was fine and we too saw the baby a few weeks ago on an u/s and all was good. Dr. will have me back next week to check again, but I'm such a crazy worrier that I rented a doppler to try and find the h/r at home...I know I will spend hours trying to locate it later today when the unit is delivered, but puttting my mind at ease is a good thing...I'm blaming all the crazy behaviours on the hormones. Otherwise, all is good...showing a little and otherwise feeling pretty good. Glad to be in the 2nd trimester. Hope all is well with you!

That is so neat-o that we are due almost the same day!! we'll have to keep in touch :) Ya, I know ya get very anxious and excited... then towards the end you just want it to all be over hehe.
