My baby is due March 17, 2008. My husband and I have 7 children. 4 boys and 3 girls. A daughter-17, a son-15, a daughter-11, a son-9, a son-4, a daughter-2 and a son-16months. I have been induced with pitocin with all 7 children. I had an epidural with all 7 also. I plan on an epidural with this baby too! We are pretty sure "we're done". We joke because every time we say that we end up pregnant again. My body is tired so "Eight is Enough". We haven't thought of a name for him yet but then again we never do until the day I'm leaving the hospital and we've had enough time to try the names on the baby. My pregnancy so far has been pretty uneventful. Just feeling my age. Aches and pains a little more pronounced with each one I suppose. I hope he (the baby) is ready for the household he's being brought in to. It can be quite overwhelming sometimes.

December 10th, 2007

It sounds like I'm going to be induced the first week of March. My last baby was 9lbs6oz and their concerned about the size of this one. Not sure whether to be relieved or nervous. I guess we'll just wait and see what happens.

January 2nd, 2008

Saw my doctor today. She has given me the option of March 4th or 5th to be induced. It's two different hospitals so I have to decide which one I want to go to. Looks like my glucose test was good. Won't know for sure for a little bit. As always, a little too much protein in the p**. :) Blood pressure is great, nice and low. I've gained 22 pounds so far.

Hi Everyone!! It's really late and I just finished this whole music thing. Whew! I hope everyone likes the changes I made to my page. It's easier to read now I think. Anyway, most of my music is just stuff that I like but some has some meaning. Little Wonders is simply my favorite singer doing what he does best but first and foremost it's my song to my Nathan. You'll Be In My Heart is my song to my 15 year old. My Heart Will Go On is from my current favorite movie Titanic and my song to my lost angel, Shannon. Sept of 2002. I Hope You Dance is my song to my 11 year old. You've Got A Friend In Me is my song to my 9 year old. Godspeed is my song to my 4 year old. In My Daughters' Eyes is my song to my 3 year old. Forever Young is my song to my very first baby. My 18 year old. Where Are You Going is "our song". We went through a rough time in our relationship and spent the night downtown, alone one night and saw Mr. Deeds, the songs from the movie. It was just an awesome night and really gave us good memories. I haven't found a song for my 20 month old yet, but I will:) I put the Wiggles in there because he likes them!!

I had an ultrasound yesterday afternoon. My little guy is measuring at 33 and a half weeks!! Another big one. I'm actually 32 weeks and 2 days (yesterday, anyway). His head is measuring 34 weeks! His daddy says extra brain for a really smart guy. :) Their guessing him at 4 pounds, 12 ounces. I saw the doctor right after and she said we're still going to look at the 4th or 5th for induction. My legs are hurting something awful. Really achey (sp?), getting harder to walk too much. My doctor said he's pretty low. Gravity stinks!! They should just float, dontcha think???

February 20th, 2008

Had my 36 week check up today. My doctor was checking my cervix for dilation and discovered a foot there instead of a head. A week and a half ago it was a head!! So, now, we have a Footling Breech baby. We will be going back in next Wednesday to see if he's flipped. If not they will try to turn him if we want them to. If it works they'll induce me right away. If not we will be scheduling a c-section. I've never had a breech baby or a c-section, I'm terrified!! All of these babies and on the eighth we're going to have issues. She told me not to go in to labor!! That it could compromise the baby, with the cord and all. Now, how am I supposed to not go in to labor? Not that I ever have before 40 weeks before but now you never know. So, there's another reason for me to panic. If everyone could say a little prayer for us, that would be great.

February 27th, 2008

Good News Everyone!! Baby has turned !! Thanks so much for all of the prayers, thoughts, responses, crossed fingers, advice and wishes!! Now, we just hold our breath and hope he doesn't flip back around. As of today, I'm 1cm dilated and my cervix is soft, which has never happened in the past until at least 40 weeks. So, my doctor has scheduled my induction for next Wednesday the 5th at 7am. Yay, one more week and my little stinker will be here. Then I can have a little talk with him about how he scared his mommy.

Nathan turned 2 months old yesterday!! (May 5th) He had his two month check up. It was soooo sad. He had 3 shots in his little legs and one oral vaccine. He was pretty cranky today and didn't have much of an appetite. He's doing better this evening, though. He got his first buzz cut tonight too. Now he's like Daddy and two of his big brothers!!

June 24, 2008

I wanted to share my plan with you ladies because you've been my "friends" through all of these months with Nathan. At 19 years old in the best shape of my life I was 130 pounds and a size 7. I was a light weightlifter and miss aerobics. Through my first 4 pregnancies I continued to workout. By the time my fourth baby was a year old I was in great shape still and holding solid at 140 pounds. I quit smoking and in one year gained 25 pounds. I had stopped working out too. At the end of that year my marriage was on its way out the door. I spent a month doing double workouts, downing Metabolife, starving myself and smoking again. I got back down to 147 pounds. The next year I met my new husband and finalized my divorce. I got pregnant with my 5th baby and got married. In the last 5 years I've had 4 babies. When my 7th baby was 6 months old I turned 39 and decided to quit smoking...again. I was finally back at 147 pounds. The weight I was when I met my husband. (the main picture on my page is me at 147) By July, I found out I was pregnant with Nathan. By my first prenatal appointment in August I was already at 172 pounds. (why did I quit smoking again?) The day I delivered Nathan I was 202 pounds. Now, at 16 weeks post partum I am 182 pounds. (weighed myself at GNC in the mall yesterday.) So, I am 52 pounds from the weight I liked the best. But all things considered, my age, the babies, etc..I'll say 40 pounds overweight. I would like to be 140 pounds. If I don't lose this weight I'm afraid the depression I've been feeling is only going to get worse. My plan: I went to GNC and I'm starting with a 7 day detox thing. It's Slimquick Cleanse. During these 7 days I will only eat liquids and a light dinner at night. No bread, potatoes, rice etc.. I will work out 6 days a week. MWF doing light weighlifting. MTWTFS doing some form of cardio; treadmill, video, jumprope for 30-45 minutes. After the 7 day detox, I will start taking Slimquick Extreme and continue with my workouts. There, I'm committed, I've told my friends and now I have to do it. Wish me luck ladies. I don't want to be sad anymore and I want my handsome husband to have the same lady he married.

Thank you to all of you wonderful women who have responded to my husbands job loss. I still am amazed by the love that works it's way around this site. You are beautiful, all of you.

collsbaby - Saturday, 5 July
It seems like I missed a bunch of crap on here today...I'll have to read the boards...

OK, it's almost midnight and Summer FINALLY fell asleep around 10pm! This is a lot later than usual...it's usually about 8pm that she goes down, but the last few days or so she has been a total night owl!

Well, not that you need it, but you totally have my support! I can not imagine going through all the pumping, etc. with your other little ones in the house. I have pumped a few times where I was really stressed out (like getting ready for my solo flight to Ca with just me and the baby...) and NOTHIN! I mean normally I'd get like 4 oz or something out of one and that time I got less than 1 oz from BOTH sides and I was pumping for over 20minutes!!! So, I can't imagine what you were going through, also knowing that your little guy was sick. You shouldn't feel any guilt! I know you will though, cuz that's what we do as Moms...(I'm just figuring this out, haha), but you have noting to feel guilty about. You tried everything. And he has your love and in the long run that is all that matters. One day he'll be sitting there (as a teenager) eating cheetoes, chocolate cake and root beer (for breakfast) and you'll think..."and I was worried about formula?!!!" haha!

Well I have always liked you since the preggo days so I'm on your side sister! You always seem to take everything in stride. I'd love to do a girls night out!! Too bad we all don't live in the same area, that would be too much fun!

Hang in there. And thanks for the info on what the thing was called.

xo

Hi! Thanks for your comment! The pediatrician's office didn't seem too concerned about it, so I thought I'd give it overnight. I put a little breastmilk on it and she was able to open it this afternoon. I have been giving her warm compresses and rubbing the corner of her eye like you said. Thanks again for the advice!

momoffive - Wednesday, 2 July
I breastfed my first two. My first daughter was a really big girl and the dr. made me believe it was because I gave her formula off and on and weaned her at 6 months instead of going the full year. I was determined to not make any so called "mistakes" with my second so she did not have an ounce of formula her entire life, which I thought would make her healthier, that's what the medical world led me to believe. She was sick at 2 weeks old and had continious colds and cronic ear infections untill she was 18 months when I forced the issue of having tubes put in and took her off of all milk products. I had asked if she could have a milk allergy and the dr's told me no, but clearly she had and I had caused her all that misery that first year by nursing. I have breastfed my next two out of mostly convienience. It's easier to just pull up my shirt and throw a blanket over than to go and mix up a bottle. I could not believe my friends mother in law would make such an awful comment. She's already stressed to the max over her poor little boy. He throws up almost everything he eats and is covered in a bright red rash about half the time. He is 9 months old and weighs 15lbs, which could mean he's just small but is starting to show poor muscle tone and you can see his ribs. Ahhh, it just makes me so mad. She loves her boys and is already sick with guilt that her son is so small. She's obsessed with finding a reason for it. Some people can just be sooo mean. I tried to tell her that I breastfed Emma and she still had allergies so it didn't matter but that didn't make her feel any better.

SCREW THE b's WITH itches! There is no shame in feeding your son formula!!! I am pissed off at those that jump down peoples throats over the way they choose or choose not to feed there babies, but are forced to. I am sory I missed this stuff but I will go back and read! Beware I am mean when my friends are put down! lots of love sent your way!

thank you how are you?

Jo-Mama - Monday, 30 June
I totally agree with what you said about formula. I had to switch to formula after two months for medical reasons and I feel so sad about it. I miss breastfeeding so much and it only makes it worse when people say bad things about formula. I know that she would prefer breastmilk, but it's not an option anymore. I don't think people understand this and often I feel like a horrible mom just because of how I have to feed my daughter. I am not a bad mommy!

1blessedmomma - Sunday, 29 June
He is a chunker!! He's bigger than Jonah and Abbie were, but Jake was a big boy too. I was worried that I was over feeding him, but he only eats 2-2.5oz for every lb. He weighs about 16lbs. so he's right on target. Just a shortie that's all!! I love it :

Yeah it does say Tough Guy. And I always get a kick out of him crying while he's wearing it. :

And yes. Some women do seem to take things offensively no matter what. Oh well, must suck thinking everyone's out to get you. :
