My name is Candice and my husband is Vin (as of 6/20/08). We live just outside of Boston with my/our 8 year-old son, Trevor. We have been ttc now since October of 2007. We got pregnant on our first try back then (I could be so lucky now), resulting in a miscarriage in December. I had a D&C on December 27th. We waited one cycle to start trying again and, so far, it has been a (seemingly) long and anxious road. We hope to get our BFP soon!

I just laughed outloud reading about your friend's antics while out and about in Boston. I am sure it was embarrasing at the time, but it's a funny story now. :)
I meant to ask you how Trevor is responding to your wedding. From what you written so far, it sounds like they are the best of friends already. He has also probably known for a while that you two are planning on getting married. Is he excited? Will he play a role in your wedding?
Eeek, guns. I don't know anything about weapons at all, but Auggie and I sometimes joke about going to the shooting range and trying to hit targets. I have no idea why, but I have always wanted to do that. Looks so empowering. Auggie used to practice Aikido (Japanese martial art) and now he practices Kali (Philipino martial art), so we do have a small collection of wooden swords and rubber knives around the house. LOL

So, not much longer to wait, huh? When is testing day? Are you feeling good about this month with the fertility monitor?
We never had much luck with Pre-Seed or Robitussin. Not sure why. Auggie did not like the Pre-Seed and I never noticed any difference in my CM after using Robitussin (2tsp 3Xday). Some women swear by them, though, and I don't think they can hurt at all, so definitely give them a try.
So far, I have not had any bleeding or anything. I have a doc's appt. scheduled for the 17th. I am hoping and praying I make it that long.

Thank you, Candice. I really hope I will be giving you the same words of encouragement in a week or so. I should be about 4 weeks right now. I will try to remain calm and positive and not worry too much. That certainly won't help any, right? Keep me posted on your end. Maybe using the fertility monitor will be the magic bullet for both of us! Oh, please, oh, please.

I just hope I can keep this one. I am so scared. I did post the BFP picture on my page if you want to see it. I am, of course, so happy, but also very scared. I think I will feel a bit better in a couple of weeks when I can see/hear the heartbeat on the U/S. My doc said that next time I can come in at 6 weeks for an early scan since I had a M/C before.

Thanks for answering my question on the discussion board. I watch those baby and birth shows on the Discovery Health Channel and notice that some of those women have fibroids that grow really big. Usually, they just leave them in there though. Seems like you would want to take them out, but I guess if they don't cause major problems....?

Thanks for the congrats. We had a great time up in Gruene, Texas tasting wine at the winery and having lunch in the historic downtown area. It's an adorable little German town outside of San Antonio with Victorian-style bed and beakfasts and small general stores on the street. Very quaint. We did feel a lot like the characters in Sideways when we were doing the wine tasting! I love that movie. One day we will take a trip to the California wine country and enjoy the real thing (Texas wine kind of sucks). We still had a super time on our anniversary.
So sorry about BFN. Uggghh. Onward! At least your cycles are short and you don't have to wait too long. I have at least another two weeks to wait until I find out if this cycle worked...and we started AF only a week apart.! LOL

Chica, I am working on another long email, so stay tuned for that (it's the adoption story). In the meantime, I just wanted to give you a quick update that I finally got a "high fertility" reading on the monitor this morning. Whew! It's about time. I really think all this time we have been BDing too early and missing my most fertile days. Maybe we'll get it right this month now that we have the help of modern technology! Have a super weekend! We are taking a tour of a winery in a town called Groene, right outside of San Antonio, today for our wedding anniversary. We will take the tour, taste test some wines, and then have a nice lunch afterward. Auggie planned it. He's so awesome. Anyway, just wanted to check in and give you a quick update. Talk soon!
