Hello all! Excellent day today. Bunny Bun had a really great scan this morning and it's official- Bunny is a Girl! We're so happy. Honestly it didn't matter what we were having, only that the baby is healthy. Now it's time to start up the shopping and decorating the nursery. Love and hugs to all and I hope that you're having a good day today. We are!

Hello all. Had a bit of a scare on Tuesday. Headaches, saw those little silvery stars and was light headed all day. I thought I may have been coming down with this flu that's been sweeping the lands-After work I came home to try and lay down, to only become restless and worrisome. I went to triage and found out that I was dehydrated and my blood pressure was up. I felt bad because all day long, I tried to wait it out thinking that my "off" feeling would pass. Eventually it did, however there could have been something more serious happening to us and I didn't heed the warnings. I'm grateful that this was a minor issue and can be avoided in the future by monitoring my salt intake...no protein in the urine and I'm not pre-eclamptic as of this point.

On a more pleasant note, we find out what we are having this Tuesday- can't wait. I think we are having a boy- Daddy wants another little girl. I'm happy either way. We have a couple names picked out. Dante Lee and Nya Belle... I'll post again soon! thanks for taking the time to read my blog!

NT Scan went well today...Bunny Bun is doing well. Wasn't as active as we would have liked to see and that's ok. Melted my heart today, that's for sure.

ahhhh deep breath here. Tuesday during a cervical length measurement ultrasound it was discovered that my cervix was starting to funnel from the inside out. I was consulted on getting a cerclage- which this exact happening was what we were hoping to catch with the biweekly scans- and I elected to have one. We did the works- spinal block-cut away and pushed up part of my bladder to get the stitch up higher and we made it out ok with minimal discomfort. I will tell you this, I knew for a long time that my cervix wasn `t `normal ` and that I was going to have issues with this pregnancy- however my dr `s really didn `t seem to understand what I was trying to tell them. An incompetent cervix/soft mushy cervix like mine doesn `t `look ` incompetent on an ultra sound. It wasn `t until I was on the operating table and they manually examined my cervix were they able to determine that the fibers of my cervix were to flexible they could have put a finger through it right to the baby. This catch in the changes of my body were meant to happen. I believe that angels were watching over us on Tuesday. I pray daily and thank God that this opportunity was given and allowed to be taken. We `re on modified bedrest and will find out this afternoon after my follow up scan if I can return to work on Monday. I `m hoping that I am able to go back. At the very least this baby needs to stay in for 7 more weeks according to the surgeon. I `m not so good at the layng around thing. I will update later on this afternoon.

follow up scan went well. We are able to return to work Monday with very limited activity. The cerclage is in a good position and Bunny Bun is doing well too. Her h/r was 166 this afternoon. To all of those that have shared their cerclage stories and experiences, thank you so much for your input. It helped me become a better health advocate for myself and I appreciate it- we appreciate it so much. Thank you for being around for us. xoxo

Thanks hun! I'm so sleepy today...I had an early morning hair appt and my stylist was late as usual ( you know the drill) After I have Jordan I have to start going back to Chicago to get my hairdone! I was there for almost 4 hours!!!! You'd be proud of me. I was so calm because I know I will not have to deal with this much longer.

C-Section is scheduled and we are ready to go! How are you feelng?

Hey Girl! Again no dialation and no efacement. I told you little amn is going to have to be evicted!LOL! he ain't even thinking of comin out unless we come in to get him. So next Friday it is...7 day count down!!!!

Glad Miss Nyah's behaving and coming out like a good child should :) Sorry your hubby missed his window of opportunity cause it will be a while (That's what I keep telling Charleston) We better get one more in there before next weekend, lol :) Let me know when labor happens for you guys!!!

Good luck!! I went in this morning b/c I was having contractions every 3 mins.. had a huge ordeal with all of that! I got there and they said I was a loose 1 and 70% effaced.. so I got checked again an hour later.. almost a 2 and 80% effaced. Got checked a 3rd time.. not any more dilated, but 90% effaced. So, they called my DR to come in, but couldn't get ahold of him, so another DR from the practice came in and checked me. She said I was 2-3 and 80% effaced conservatively. Well, about 15 mins later my DR showed up and checked me and said I wasn't yet a 3 and that he was going to break my water to get things going a little quicker. Well, he went back out and talked to the nurse and then came back in and told me that he had the real story. I hadn't dilated any more since I had my cerclage taken out (he told me I wasn't even a cm dilated at my appt) and he was sending me home. I couldn't believe it.. we went from one extreme to the next.. ughhh. I was so frustrated. So, today we've been doing some serious walking and we also tried s-e-x again (did it yesterday too). I haven't had hardly any contractions since I left the hospital. I don't know what is going on with my body.. I wish it would just make its mind up! Anyway.. I hope things go quicker for you, if that's what you want!

My little one is Kayla Grace.
I am just so ready to have her here because of all the bed rest. 22 weeks is a long time to do nothing but think about having her here.
I have always said that patience is a virtue that God forgot to give me, but I guess I was wrong. I have had to muster a lot of it over the last 5 months!!!
I will say that this entire journey has shown me that I am a lot stronger than I thought possible.
I have gone to the doctor every week since 16 weeks and feel like everyone there is part of my family. It is so nice to have so many people praying for you and making this all bearable.
I am glad that the stitch is out, too! Now I just hope Kayla Grace doesn't stay in there for too much longer.
I had to leave my students in February and did not get to finish the school year, so I am hoping that I won't have to miss too much of the first of school. Our school starts August 25th. I am able to take 6 weeks (unpaid - maternity leave) but if she doesn't come soon, I'll miss the first couple of weeks of this year.
Oh well, I guess I need not worry about that now. Kayla is the only thing I want to focus on right now, so I'll let it go. TTYL

Thanks for your comment!!! I much rather them do all testing even if they don't think it is the answer rather than not brushing it off! I go next week Thursday to find out if I do have a blood clotting disorder (I don't I have...) then go from there. If it's IC... then at least they know stitch me up... lay me down and see you later! LOL...

By the way... Congratulations on your bunny on the way

My discharge was just a little tinged with blood.. nothing extreme. Didn't need any pain meds or anything.. as soon as he pulled it out, I had some cramping, but nothing major. I'll be praying for you!! The worst part was just not knowing how it was going to feel.. I know you'll be just fine! xoxo

Hello ! i read your post on Bio Oil not being safe!! Did you find anything about that ? Why would it not be safe to use? I have been using it every day since i got pregnant to keep away stretch marks now i am worried LOL let meknow girl!

OMG is all I can say for your dinner! Girl, make the ice cream last! I had my hubby buy some turtle trail ice cream yesterday which I will eat after my left over tacos in a few :) We have not attempted the car seat thing but i guess we need to get on that as well, good heads up hun.

I think she will come naturally for you as you have been healthy thus far and biggest issue was her coimng too early so you are probably safe there, don't worry.
I hope she shows up tomorrow because we can then officially say one of us made it to the finish line!

i'm sure that everything will work out just fine for you so that you hopefully will not have to have a c-section. I have been good just trying to continue to steer clear of this stomach virus that is going around. My household has had it already (the hubby and my godson), I just don't want to get sick. I am excited about my appt on Tuesday, the 22nd. I know you already know that the pain of contractions are well worth it when you see that beautiful little girl

I had a McDonald's cerclage. I believe it was modified because of my short cervical length. My doctor refers to his handy work as a perfect purse string! LOL!
Today I feel pretty good. Still having regular (not strong) contractions and some cramping. It will all be worth it when my little girl comes. I am soooooooooooo ready!
