The picture was taken when I was 5 months and it looks a little funny here! It's stretched a bit and I'm not actually that big yet!

Let's see...I work full-time at a Realty Company, but Saturday will be my last day. I'm finally going to be able to get things done around the house and rest. I have a BA in Biology and right before the baby is due I'm going to start submitting my resume to different places. I would love to be a Field Research Biologist but at this point I'll take a job that pays good and just keep looking for my dream job on the side.

TJ and I have been together, off and on, for over a year and we just moved into a very nice townhouse on Oct 1. We're really excited about the baby coming and I can't wait to start decorating the room, luckily the people before us painted the room the exact color I wanted....pale green. TJ on the other hand is not looking forward to dragging everything upstairs...haha...pregnancy does work to your benefit when moving furniture. *To update, the nursery has been completed, except for hanging a few pictures*

Here's a picture of TJ and I at our baby shower, November 13.

I thought I would share a picture of our 9 month old four-legged baby, Dakota. We are really concerned about how she is going to react when the baby is born. She's extremely active, jumps alot, and will nip at your face...all of the things that a baby doesn't need. We put her in obedience training but it was during my first trimester and honestly I was too tired to be bothered with it. I guess we will see what happens when the baby comes.

Went to this website... http://www.justmommies.com/quizzes/labor_prediction_quiz.php and this is the prediction of my labor...

I know you were hoping we weren't going to say this, but don't expect this baby to come early. Your baby is nice and comfy tucked away in your womb and has no interest in joining the rest of the world. We predict your baby will be born after its due date. Your baby will most likely be born in the morning. Justmommies predicts that your baby will weigh approximately 7.3 pounds and that your labor will be about 12 hours long.

....I guess we'll see how this prediction holds up in a couple of months....lol

Update 12/20

I went to the doctor today. Everything looks great! She weighs right around 5lbs and is head down but not facing the right direction. I'm just glad she finally made it to the head down position! We still didn't get any good US pictures but we were told she was doing GREAT!!!

Also we finally got all the furniture moved upstairs...and when I say we, I mean TJ and his friends...I sat on the couch! This weekend we should have the car ready to go with the car seat, the hospital bag ready to go, and the nursery ready to go. I was nervous I wouldn't get everything done but it looks like I will and that makes me happy!

Update 12/29

Well, I couldn't sleep again! My hip is starting to hurt really bad so now I'm forced to lay on one side throughout the night, which I can't do so I end up staying awake part of the night. Not too much longer though! I go for my first pelvic exam on Jan. 3. Nervous about it but I can't wait to see wait they say.

Here's the great news....on Christmas Eve my sister announced she is pregnant again, 2 months. She already has a little boy Dylan, who will be 1 yrs old in a month. With her being pregnant, that makes 4 children being born into our family this year. 2 of TJ's brothers are expecting too....Mark and Theresa, plus Charley and Paige. I'm so happy we are all going through this together!

Update 1/2

Last Friday I fell down the stairs, right on my hip. I feel so much better now and I only have a small bruise. TJ kept saying over and over again....you can't be doing that...I just kept responding, LIKE I MEANT TO FALL...IT'S NOT LIKE I WANTED TO HURL MYSELF DOWN THE STAIRS...LOL! Men...

Tomorrow I go for my first pelvic exam...can't wait to see if anything is happening! If it is though, I sure don't feel anything, except for a little discomfort down there and twice had menstrual like cramps.

Update 1/3

Went to the doctor today and I'm not dilated at all. My doctor talked with me about the possibility of going over my due date...NOOOOO....I'm ready to get it over with...LOL! They'll know more in a few weeks if they'll have to set up a day after my due date to induce me. At least they'll only let me go over my due date by a week. My bday is Feb 4...maybe she'll be my bday present!

Update 1/10

Had another exam today...no dilation and effaced 50%. I'm just excited something has happened since my last visit. My doctor also told me that some women don't dilate at all before they go into labor and maybe I'm going to be one of those women. Well, we see if I progress any in the next week! And I almost finished the nursery. I have to hang 2 pictures and the letters of her name....Yay!!!

Update 1/18

Went to the doctor yesterday...1cm dilated and still 50% effaced...a little progress but not much. If I don't go naturally then I'll be induced on Feb. 1, which gives me a little bit of comfort because at least I know I only have 2 weeks at the most. I decided not to work next week and I'm going to try walking quite a bit to see if it pushes me into labor. I hope so cause I really, really want a Jan. baby...there are 5 feb. bdays in my family just within the first 2 weeks!

Update 2/7

I had Kiera on Jan. 22. She was 5 days early, which was fine by me cause I didn't want to be induced. My water broke at 1pm on the 21st but I didn't realize it because it wasn't a gush of fluid. Then at 11pm that night I woke up and was having contractions. I paced around my house for about an hour and a half before waking TJ up. Called the hospital and told them that there was blood when I wiped and I was having contractions. Got to the hospital about 1am and was 3cm and 100% effaced. About an hour later I was checked and was 6cm. By 3:30 I was ready for the epidural but almost missed my chance of getting it. If the doctor would have taken any longer they were not going to let me get it. Started pushing at 4:45 and by 5:14 Kiera was here! It went alot faster than I thought it would...thank goodness! She was 7lbs 1oz, 19 in. The first day she was here was a horrible day...she threw up everything and was taken to NICU. She stayed in there for 4 days. They were afraid she was going to get dehydrated. Kiera has to have SOY formula and still throws up but not like she did in the beginning.

Kiera 10 days old!

Here's a pic of her daddy holding her in the hospital...don't they look so much alike!

Kiera almost 2 weeks old. She sure spits up ALOT! But at least she's a happy baby.

TOUCHDOWN! She's a month old here.

I love these next two pictures.

Happy and then very pissed off, all within seconds of each other...

UPDATE: When Kiera was 6weeks old she had to go the hospital and have a sonogram. The doctors thought she might have a blockage and that was the reason she couldn't hold much food down. There was no blockage and she was put on rice & formula. She now holds her food down and has the normal spit up. Plus she finally started to gain weight!

TJ and I at my granny's 75th birthday party...

and here's Kiera in her party dress! (2 month's old)

IT hurt but a different way. I was trying to explain it to my husband, the hurting was more from his hand being so far up-not the scraping. The scraping was the dr. taking his two fingers and making a circle around the rim of my cervix. He could feel madyson's head so it's basically like drawing a circle there. They say that you can bleed after, but I didn't. I did lose my mucus plug on Sunday after my walk though. So I think the scraping and walking could be ways to get things moving. I stopped walking because I don't want to go into labor knowing that she isn't going to fit.

Good Luck with your Wed. dr.'s appt. I had my dr. scrape my membranes at my last appt. in hopes that it would get things going. That is when he noticed my narrow pelvis. Of course I had to ask him to check me, etc. I am excited to meet my daughter but scared about the fact that my life is going to change FOREVER! I am a big control freak and the fact that I can't control this is very hard. I too have expanded in the last several weeks-I wish we could stay pregnant just in our bellies, not everywhere. Does your dr. normally check you?

Carrie you're so small! I love your dog, we have a viszla who is presently our baby. I too am feeling tired and achy. I left a message on the week 38 board, I went to the dr today and he is scheduling me for a c-section next Friday! It's fine with me, I don't want to go through hours of labor only to then have a c-section because my pelvis is narrow. What is that you do for a living if you don't mind me asking?

TJ - Friday, 12 Jan
hey girl!!! well friday night my husband came home and after i got done cooking dinner and only took a couple of bites, my water broke at around 10:00 pm, i was running around the house like a chicken with its head cut off lol trying to get a hold of the doctor and family, carlos drove me up to the hospital and after 11 1/2 hours of back labor i gave birth to my BEAUTIFUL baby BOY saturday 1-6-07 at 9:37 am he was 9 lbs and was 21 1/4 inches long!!! it was a very painful labor, they said i was going through back labor and on top of that they had to give me something in my IV to get me to dilate faster and that made the contractions even worse, but i made it through with no epidural, pushing him out wasn't so bad but those contractions were some killers lol... but he was totally worth it! i will post some pics up later if i can figure out how to do it lol! how are things going for you? i hope you make some more progress next week, but babies come when you least expect it lol! i almost thought she was going to have to induce but thank goodness she didn't have too!

christina - Thursday, 11 Jan
How are things with your pregnancy lately? I went to my checkup today and they said I am dialated a fingertip! So exciting!

christina - Tuesday, 9 Jan
I just finished moving as well and my fiance Chris did all the heavy work as well. Now I have to put the benches back into my van and setup the carseat so I will be set.

christina - Tuesday, 9 Jan
How are you feeling lately? I don't nkow about you, but I am feeling lots of pains in my pelvic and crotch area as well as my lower abdomen. I am pretty sure I have dropped also. Hopefully your labor goes well and is short as well!

Erica B - Monday, 8 Jan
I know how you feel regarding having so much to do, with such little time.. It can be quite stressful, but it all works out the way it should in the end. Don't worry about the whole, your not dialating thing and baby being overdue.. I did not dialate at all at 35 weeks and my son came at 37 weeks.. When they are ready to come they are ready..

baby girl galvan - Thursday, 4 Jan
Hey girl how are you!?! :) Looks like your baby predictor just MIGHT be right! lol YOUR BABY IS COMFY AND TUCKED AWAY if you havent dilated yet! hehe...KM probably don't want to come out yet cause she is TOO cozy! :) I went to the Dr today he said Em' is 4 1/2 lbs! And like KM she would NOT be still for a GOOD PIC...she was ALL OVER the place!! The Dr measured her head, belly and heart, and we saw as her belly went up and down as she breathed, it was cute!! :O) Anyhow, how are YOU!? Ok you have GOT to post UP some new pic's of NOW!! I want to see! I haven't posted any cause I think I am still the same my belly has not really gotten bigger..you know?? Oh well, you take care!

Laurielynn - Thursday, 4 Jan
went to the dr today got the group b strep swab...and my first end of pregnancy pelvic exam along with my non stress test....dialated 2cm but they arent inducing me til jan 21 now.....to deliver on the 22nd...lol that was my premanition (sp?) of my due date when theres was orig jan 31....lol and it is my bf birthday he is ecstatic......your puppy is adorable......

TJ - Thursday, 4 Jan
she stripped my membranes yesterday, and i think she might end up doing it again tomarrow.... this really bites lol. she said that tomarrow she will set up a date to induce me next week, i'm praying it'll be monday. i'm the same way, i'm very uncomfortable when it comes to having a doctor down there lol. do you have another appointment next week? maybe you'll be dilated by then... some women are lucky and dilate over night, i'm not one of them though lol. i keep feeling a lot of pressure and pains down there but i'm still only 1cm dilated, she told me 2 weeks ago that i was 25% effaced but she didn't say how far effaced i was this time. i guess i can be happy because i know for sure i'll be holding my little bundle next week!!! i hope you make some progress by next appointment, and that you'll not have to wait too much longer lol, because i think i'm about to lose my mind lol. good luck girl!

Laurielynn - Tuesday, 2 Jan
tracic had her son so who's next?

TJ - Tuesday, 2 Jan
my new year was alright, I didn't get out to do anything though. I had my doctor's appointment today, and I'm still only dilated to 1 cm it's been like that for 3 weeks now :( she stripped my membranes again, and she had me do a non stress test to check how the baby was doing, and she is having me come back in on thursday to do it all again, and if that doesn't work she said she'll induce me early next week, I hope monday because she says that it feels like a good size baby....yikes!!! Atleast I know this is my final week... I better learn how to catch up on some sleep so I'll be ready. I'm glad you arn't hurt from falling, I fell yesterday down a couple of steps, I didn't tell my husband about it because he always gives me hell when I do that...lol but he doesn't know what it is like to not be able to see your feet! Good luck tomarrow, let me know what the doctor says.

Theresa - Tuesday, 2 Jan
You freakin klutz..lol...I was there-you looked like superman...but without the cape..lol..jk....at least you didnt hurt yourself....you did scare us.....-----dumb dog always gettin under your feet.

TJ - Monday, 1 Jan
Happy new year! Hope everything is going great for you!

ErinW - Friday, 29 Dec
I had a dco appointment on Wednesday and my BP was 120/68 which is great. The doctor thinks it is caused from water retention from all the weight I have gained lately. I have gained 15 pounds in 6 weeks.

ErinW - Friday, 29 Dec
The swelling is ok in the mornings and after I get home from work at night. But, while I'm at work it gets bad. I try to put my feet up periodically and walk around. It helps some, but I have resorted to wearing ballet style house shoes to work. All of my shoes are too tight.

ErinW - Friday, 29 Dec
Hey. How have you been feeling lately? I hope you had a good Christmas. Just think we don't have that much longer to go.

Laurielynn - Thursday, 28 Dec
YES ITS NORMAL TO NOT TRUST THEM AT FIRST....I KNEW CHASE WAS A BOY FROM THE VERY START OF THE 1ST UTLRASOUND BUT BOUGHT EVERYTHING IN GREEN AND YELLOW ....WAS A LITTLE MORE SURE WITH CHELSEA THAT IT WAS A GIRL...WAITED TO BUY PINK TIL I HEARD SEVERAL TIMES MICHAELA IS A GIRL.....LOL

TJ - Thursday, 28 Dec
my doctor said she'll be back on monday so i think i'll make it, i heard of the other doctor and people said that she is really good but i seen this doctor through out my entire pregnancy and i would rather be familar with the person that will deliver, but i guess as long as everything goes smooth and i have a healthy baby that should be all that matters. it sounds like your nursey is really cute, now all it needs is a baby!!! are you getting nervous about having an exam done this time. my doctor didn't check me yesterday, oh well it might of gave false hope if i would of progressed any, but now i'm sitting here any wondering if i did or not lol.

Tj - Thursday, 28 Dec
well i guess the castor oil trick didn't work... it just left me with a bad tummy ache all last night :( i guess my baby will be ready when it's ready, but i hope it is before the doctor decides to induce.

Laurielynn - Thursday, 28 Dec
I think next weds or fri I have ob gyn appt weds and maternal fetal specialist fri.....just because your baby is small doesnt mean you will go past your due date...it will more so happen just because its your first...my son was born the day after his due date and my daughter i swear was a month late......

TJ - Wednesday, 27 Dec
i finally broke down and bought a bottle of castor oil, i'm gonna take it tonight....yuck! but i'm hoping that it will get me my baby tomarrow because my doctor is out of town for the weekend and i don't know the other doctor so i want my regular doctor to deliver my baby, so i'm hoping this will work, wish me luck lol. i bet the nursey looks real cute, mine is just winnie the pooh but i do have a couple of clown paintings hanging above the crib that my aunt painted, they are cute! well i'm gonna see if this nasty stuff really works and i'll let you know if it does :)
