Hello Ladies! My husband and I are expecting our first child in July!! We got married on Sept. 29, 2007 and have always known that we wanted children. We feel so blessed that we got pregnant right away (about one week after our honeymoon)! We just can't wait for our little bundle to arrive and we couldn't be happier!!

I will be 17wks tomorrow and am so excited!!!! Have been feeling the baby move for about a week and a half now! It is the best feeling! I have my next appt w/OB on feb 5 and will schedule u/s to find out sex of baby!!! My husband and I can `t wait!!!!

Whoo-hoo!! Here we are at 17 weeks! I `m so happy!! I `m feeling pretty good but have been getting terrible headaches at night...think all of the fluid runs to my head. Anyway...I can deal with it. Can `t wait for my OB appt. on feb. 5th...we get to schedule of u/s to see if its a boy or a girl!!! Yeah!!

Feeling pretty good today. I had a weird pain in my lower abdomen today...like I pulled a muscle. I think I got up too quickly and pulled a ligament or something! Ouch! I took a tylenol and I feel just fine now. Guess I bettter slow down from now on...I can `t move as quickly as I used to! :) Hope everyone is feeling good and things are going well. I `ll check in tomorrow to update how my doctor `s appt. goes! Sleep well ladies and sweet dreams about little bundles!

So I had my checkup today and everything went great!! My blood pressure was good and I gained 2 1/2 pounds this month for a total of 4 1/2 pounds so far during the pregnancy (which my doctor said was great). The doctor asked me if I have felt the baby move yet, and I told her yes and that the baby was really moving around as we were speaking. She hurried and got the doppler out so we could listen to the heart beat and maybe hear some kicks too. Well, the heart rate was a strong, loud 140 and we did get to hear kicks...several!!! It was so cool!! The doctor was happy too and said that an active little baby is a good thing!! We also got our lab sheet so that we could schedule our u/s to find out the sex. We scheduled the u/s for next tuesday, Feb. 12th!!! I can `t wait!!!! This next week can `t go fast enough!!! I am just dying to see what our little pumpkin is!! Well, that `s all for now. Today has been a good day. I have felt great all day! I `m a little tired because I didn `t sleep well at all last night (just tossed and turned...couldn `t get comfortable). The baby has been VERY active today. It felt like my little one was doing summersults all day long! I love that feeling! This whole not being sick thing is great. I `m so glad that `s over! I have enjoyed being pregnant from day 1 (even the bad times because I know how worth it this all will be) but I am loving how being pregnant feels now! I just can `t wait to get through the rest of this week and onto next so we can find out the sex of our baby!! Here `s hoping the week flies by!!!!

Today has been another really good day. I slept so great last night...thank goodness!! I think I can officially say that my morning sickness (or all day sickness) has subsided! Yay! I am looking forward to tomorrow since I have a short day at work and then the weekend `s here!! My husband and I are going home to see our families (about a 4 hour trip) and I `m excited about that. We haven `t been home since Christmas and I can `t wait for them to see how much I `m showing now. I `m not really looking forward to the car ride with the two dogs (Buster and Louie...father and son boxers). Louie gets car sick and we have to give him Benadryl...poor thing. It `s hard when they `ve been cooped up in the house all day and then have to ride in the car for 4 hours. Oh well...what can we do?! They are like our babies! Anyway...it will be nice to be home and see our families. It should also make the weekend fly by and Tuesday will be here before we know it!!! Yay...then it `s u/s time and we can hopefully find out if it `s a boy or a girl! I `ll check in on Monday! Have a great weekend ladies!

So as of yesterday, I was officially 18 weeks!! Yay!!!! We went home to PA for the weekend and had a nice visit, but the weather was terrible! Yesterday, on our way home, our normal 3 1/2-4 hour trip turned into over 6 hours!! It was horrible. There were whiteout conditions, snow, ice, and near accidents all throughout the trip. Thank God we made it home safely! I know God was watching over us and I was so relieved to make it home. Tomorrow is the BIG day! We have our 18 week u/s and hopefully will find out if we `re having a boy or a girl!! I can `t wait!! This morning the coolest thing happened also. I was laying in bed on my back and I could feel the baby moving. I have felt movement for a while now, but this time when I placed my hand over my belly, I could feel the kicks from the outside!!! I wish my husband had been there, but he had already left for work. Usually the baby is VERY active shortly after I eat, so after dinner, I `m going to lay still and let my husband see if he can feel a kick!! I hope the baby puts on a show for my husband!! Well...I `ll be sure and check in tomorrow and hopefully I `ll be able to tell everyone if it `s a boy or a girl!! Wish me luck that our little bundle cooperates!!!

Well we had our big u/s yesterday and IT `S A GIRL!!!!!!!! Well, at least we think it is! They couldn `t get an angle that was 100% conclusive, but they said they were almost positive. Everything went great, but our little angel was sleeping and VERY comfortable and didn `t move around a whole lot (except for her arms and legs). She pretty much kept her body and head in the same spot. Her little face was pressed up against the placenta, so they couldn `t get a clear shot of the nose and mouth area (basically her profile), so we have to go back for another u/s in a week or two!!! Yay!!!!! We get to see our little princess again!!!! I can `t wait!!! Hopefully, she `ll be a little less camera-shy and we can see all of her!!!! It was great though...they said everything looked really good! Now I `m so excited to start buying stuff for the nursery!! My husband and I picked out a girl name long ago. Her name will be Emma Grace. I feel great and I can `t wait to see little Emma in a week or two!!!! Babydust to all!!!!!

Today has been a good day. I `m just a little tired since I didn `t sleep very well last night. Hopefully, tonight will be better. Our little princess has been a very active girl today!! She has just been moving and kicking CONSTANTLY!!! I just can `t say how much I love the feeling. I have definitely been showing for a while now, but today when I looked in the mirror, I feel like I REALLY look pregnant. I mean, that `s to be expected seeing how I am almost halfway thru this pregnancy, right?!!! My husband and I are going to Lowes this weekend to start picking out colors for the baby `s room! I can `t wait! We are also going to try to maybe go look at some furniture for the nursery as well if there `s time. I just can `t wait to start on the nursery...it will seem so real and I can `t wait to have it done!!!! Well I think that `s all the updates I have for now. I hope all of you mommies are feeling well and I `ll check in again soon! Happy Valentine's Day to all!!!

Today has been another really good day! Little Emma Grace has been extremely active again today. We went to Home Depot to look at paint for the baby `s room and to get paint for the dining room. We didn `t buy any yet for the nursery, but we did find what we needed for the dining room. When the man at the counter was pounding the lid to the paint can on, I think it startled the baby! The doctor said that she can hear now and I believe it. When she heard that big noise, she kicked very hard two or three times quickly!! Poor thing...I think it scared her!! Now that we `re sure she can hear, I know I will soon be singing to her and playing lullabies for her. My husband has already started putting his head by my tummy and telling her how much we love her and can `t wait to meet her!! We also got some exciting news today. My doctor called and confirmed that everything looked great on the u/s, but that the tech didn `t get one angle they need, so we have to go back for another u/s on Feb. 21st!!!! Yay!!!! We can `t wait to see our princess again!!! So this has been a great week overall and I just can `t believe that on Sunday I `ll be 19 weeks! Oh how the time flies!!!

I can `t believe that I am 19 1/2 weeks already! On Sunday I will be halfway thru this pregnancy!! This past week has been great. I have much more energy and feeling the baby move constantly! Sleeping is getting more difficult, but I `ve been managing. My husband and I went to Babies R Us this week and checked out some nursery furniture. We found EXACTLY what we want. We also found the bedding we wanted!! I love that place!! Anyway...tomorrow is our follow up u/s so that the dr. can get one final angle that they couldn `t get last time. Yay...I can `t wait to see our little Emma Grace again!! Hopefully she `ll be in a good position and let the u/s tech get some nice pictures of her. What can I say...she `s camera shy like her mother! I hope all is well with everyone and I `ll update again after the u/s!!

I stayed home from work today because the weather is really bad here. It `s nice to have a day off! I `ve spent most of the day looking at baby stuff online. It `s so exciting! We had our follow up u/s yesterday and it went great. They got the rest of the angles they needed and everything looked good! She was just adorable! My husband always sleeps with his fist propped up under his chin and she was in the EXACT same position!!! It was so cute...Daddy `s little girl already! She was moving around alot too and kept yawning and then putting her hands in her mouth. I just can `t wait to meet her!! I have been looking into 3D/4D ultrasounds and we `re going to schedule one for around 30 weeks. That way in 10 short weeks, we should be able to see exactly what our precious little Emma looks like! Our next dr `s appointment is our regular monthy checkup. That is scheduled for March 5th. Wow...the time just keeps flying by!!

YAY....20 weeks at last!!! I can`t believe I`m half way through this pregnancy!!! I have been feeling really good lately (much more energy than I`ve had in a while). I feel like everyday I`m getting more and more excited (as if that`s possible)!! My husband and I have found the nursery furniture we are getting at Babies R Us and we`ll be ordering that in the next couple of weeks. We ordered Emma`s bedding today too...I can`t wait until it comes in! I`ll post pictures of the nursery when we get it all done (probably in the next couple of months). We also went to interview a childcare provider today. She was great! I feel like things are moving right along and that`s good because Emma will be here before we know it!! We just can `t wait!!!!

So we accomplished 3 really exciting things this week! We bought Emma `s bedding and all of the furniture for her nursery! The furniture is the Pinehurst Espresso Collection (with the Lifestyle Crib) by Babi Italia and we got it from Babies R Us. I love the rich, dark wood! It should be in within two weeks! The bedding we got from Bed Bath and Beyond. It `s by Lambs and Ivy and is called Baby Rose. That should be here within the next 5 days! I can `t wait until its in so we can make a final decision on the paint color (I must have like 500 sample cards...LOL). The other exciting thing we did this week was book our 3D/4D ultrasound!!! I can `t wait for that to see our first glimpse of what our little Emma Grace really looks like!! We scheduled it for Mother `s Day...I will be 31 weeks then. I can `t think of a better Mother `s Day gift than to see my daughter `s face for the first time!! Anyway, I think that `s all for now. Our next doctor `s appointment is on March 5th, so I `m sure I `ll have more then!

Wednesday, 5 Mar

We had our regular checkup today and everything went well. I was very anxious to have the doctor confirm that the ultrasound was good and everything was normal (a tech does ours and we have to wait to hear the final say from the doctor at our appointments). Anyway...she said everything with Emma looked perfect!!! Yay!!!! She said Emma is a very active baby and that `s a great sign!! As for me, she told me that I have a bladder infection! I couldn `t believe it. I have no symptoms, but I guess I have one. She gave me an antibiotic and said it should be cleared up in a couple of days. Everything else with me was good. My blood pressure was 120/78 and I have gained 11 pounds to date. The doctor was happy with all of my numbers, which made me feel good. I am scheduled for my next regular checkup on April 2nd. Time is just flying by!! Well I better go run to the store and pick up these antibiotics. I `ll update again soon!

Everything has been really great lately!! We have been doing some home improvement and the house looks beautiful. I am so pleased. The last two things we have to do, besides Emma`s room, are replace our Central Air Conditioning and re-do our kitchen (yay...can `t wait for that). We are thinking of having a deck built in the backyard as well...kind of extending our existing patio. Our goal is to have all of this complete before Emma arrives. I`m sure we can do it because we have already scheduled the contractors. I`m really excited to get some upgrades to the house!!! I`m also super excited to pick up Emma`s nursery furniture this weekend and get started on her room. Painting will be the first step. Once the room is painted, we can set up the rest of the nursery! Yay!! As far as how I`ve been feeling...WONDERFUL!!! I feel great! And Emma is SO active all the time. That makes me feel good. She is getting very strong and I love watching my belly pop here and there as she gives me some good kicks! Well, I think that`s all of the updates I have for now. Everyday is one day closer!!

I am bored at work and thought I would update. Everything has been going great here. Not really any major changes at this point. Still feeling good and Emma is still very active. I have noticed that my belly is getting bigger and rounder. We haven `t taken any new belly pics since just over 20 weeks, but we probably will take some this weekend (I `ll be 24 weeks on Sunday)! Yay!! I am anxious to see the difference in the pics because I feel much bigger. Its harder to bend over, to roll over in bed, to tie my shoes, etc. My belly is just starting to get in the way of all of that...haahahaha! I have been getting excited thinking that in just 1 month and 3 weeks we have our 3D/4D ultrasound and we `ll get to see our little Emma `s face for the first time...I can `t wait!! Well, we have our next checkup on April 2nd so I `ll update again then!

Thursday, 3 April

I had my regular check up at the doctor today and everything looked great! My UTI from last check up was completely cleared up...thank goodness. Everything else looked good as well...blood pressure, Emma's heartrate (140 bpm), and my weight. I have gained 16.5 pounds to date which my doctor says is very good. I got my lab sheet and need to schedule my 28 week bloodwork for the week of April 14th. That's when I'll have my glucose test (looking forward to getting that over with)!!! LOL!!! Emma is just as active as ever and I can tell she's getting bigger by the day (I know I feel like I am too...hahaha). My husband and I have started reading to our little princess at night and she seems to really like it...she kicks like crazy when she hears our voices. Well that's all I have for now. I'll update again after my tests in a couple of weeks!

Well I had the dreaded glucose test on wednesday. Call me crazy, but I actually kinda liked the orange drink!! It tasted like orange Fanta...yum! Anyway, the test wasn't bad at all...having blood drawn has never bothered me and the worst part of all was sitting in the waiting area for an hour. Regardless, I'm glad its over. I called my dr. the following day to get the results and the receptionist said all she could tell me was that no news is good news. My dr. will only call me if I failed. Well, it's friday now and I haven't heard anything. I'm really hoping I passed!! I have no idea how long it takes to get those kind of results back, but I'm hoping they're back and they looked good. Only time will tell I guess. I have my next check-up on May 1st, so I'll confirm the results then for sure.

Things have been going well and I feel great. I've had some mild swelling in my ankles, but nothing too bad. They usually only swell if I've been on my feet alot or put in a really long day at the office. The only other symptom I've had lately has been heartburn...and it's bad. EVERYTHING gives me heartburn...even water. I pretty much live on Tums. I have bottles of Tums everywhere...in my purse, in the car, beside my bed...everywhere!! I can handle it though. I just keep telling myself, "it's all worth it!!"

I feel like I am getting huge, but I haven't gained any more weight at this point (not since the last time I was at the doctor anyway). I'm holding steady at 16.5 pounds gained to date. I guess I can't complain since I'll be 28 weeks on sunday! That is well within average weight gain. Emma is getting so big...I can tell. When I go from sitting to standing, I feel the pressure drop. It's like dropping a watermelon on my bladder...LOL!!! It's so intense. I always have to stand up and let things settle before taking a step!

I just can't believe how time is flying. We are going to have this beautiful baby in less than 3 months!! I'm so ready to be a mom and I know my husband is counting down the days until he can hold his little girl!! We just feel so blessed!! That's all the updates I have for now. I'll check in again after my next doctor's appointment on May 1st!!

Thursday, 1 May

So today was my doctor's appointment and it went really well. My blood pressure was really good (118/74) and I gained 4 more pounds for a total of 20.5 pounds to date. My doctor was really happy with that. She also said that I am measuring 29.5cm, so Emma is growing perfectly!! Her heartrate was 130 BPM. Another piece of wonderful news was that I passed my glucose test!! My doctor actually said that I passed with flying colors and the rest of my labs were perfect as well. Well, all of my labs except my blood count. It was low and she said that I am anemic and need to start iron therapy. I will now be taking iron supplements in addition to my prenatal vitamins for a total of 872% of the daily allowance. Wow...that's alot of iron!!!! I hope that I don't get too constipated from so much iron. I'll just keep eating tons of fruits and veggies like I've been and hope that fends off the constipation. So now my appointments are going to be every two weeks!! Yay!!!!!! That means I'm getting close! I just can't wait!!!

Well our big 3D/4D ultrasound is coming up on May 11th (Mother's Day) and we are SO EXCITED!!! I just can't wait to see Emma again and hopefully get a glance at what she looks like. Oh, another big thing coming up is that we are getting our kitchen remodeled this coming week and while they are working on it, my husband took off work and is going to paint Emma's room and set her furniture up! I'm so excited to finally get her nursery done...especially since we've had her furniture for so long! Well I'll probably update again after we have our 3D/4D ultrasound. I'll make sure I post pictures of Emma and her nursery!!

Monday, 19 May

Well we had our 3D/4D ultrasound on Mother's Day and it was absolutely amazing!! We got some great pictures of Emma and were able to see that she looks like Mommy!! She definitely seems to have my nose, cheeks, and mouth. She does without a doubt have Daddy's feet though. Her little toes look just like Daddy's!! So cute!! I couldn't be more pleased with how the pictures turned out...money well spent!

I had my regular doctor's checkup on Friday. Everything went really well. My blood pressure was 120/70 and I have gained a total of 27.5 pounds to date. The doctor said that's right on target for just about 32 weeks. Emma's heart rate was good as well (130 bpm) and she is head down!! Yay!!! I'm so glad...we are really getting close now. I have two more appointments that will be two weeks apart and then I start going once a week until I have Emma.

We have started our childbirth classes now as well. They are very interesting but they are in the evening (6:30pm-9:00pm). That makes for a really long day after both of us have worked all day! Oh well...we'll get through it and hopefully feel a little more prepared for the birthing process.

Emma's nursery is really coming along. All of her furniture is put together and her bedding is on. It looks so cute!! We still have to put up the wall art and decorations we bought, but all of the big stuff is finished. That feels good!

My next doctors appointment is on May 29th so I'll update again then!! I'll also post pictures of the nursery when we have it all complete. Wow...only 8 short weeks to make all the final preparations! I hope it goes fast!!

Wednesday, 18 June

I haven't updated in a while so I thought I'd better check in. I had a dr's appointment yesterday and had my group B strep test done. Guess we'll get those results next week. Also, my blood pressure was up a little and there was a little protein in my urine so they sent me to labor and delivery to be monitored for about an hour. Everything was fine there. Baby's heartrate was great, she was moving around like crazy, and by the time I left, my bloodpressure was 112/55. They still told me not to go to work today and to rest. I also have to do a 24 hour urine sample today and take it back to them tomorrow. Wow is that a pain!!!

Now for the good news...the dr checked my cervix and I am dialated 1 1/2-2 cm and 50% effaced!!!!! I am so excited!! On top of that, I lost some of my mucus plug yesterday after the exam, and I lost more of it today!! I'm so happy to be making progress!!!!!! On Sunday I'll be 37 weeks. With this progress, I sure hope Emma decides to arrive a couple weeks early. That would be great!!

So we had our baby shower for friends and family back home last weekend. It was great and we got tons of stuff. Not alot off of our registry though. We did get tons of clothes (which we don't need at all since we got stuff from my sister-in-law who has two little girls under the age of 2 and my cousin who had a baby girl last summer). Some people did include gift receipts though, so we'll be able to take some of it back for stuff we actually need. My co-workers also had a surprise shower for me yesterday. Nearly everyone there got something off of our registry which was great. We are going to go this weekend and get the carseat and finish packing our bags for the hospital. Everything else is pretty much ready to go. I just can't wait!!!!!! Feels like we are finally getting close to meeting our precious little Emma!!!!!!
