Hi~my name's Elizabeth Emma. I'm 23 years old. My fiance, Sean, and I had our BEAUTIFUL BABY BOY Carson Patrick on Monday, April 7th 2008 @ 2:01pm. He was 7 days early (due date was April 14, 2008).

I really want to wish all of you ladies good luck, ESPECIALLY the "first-timers". My labor experience was PRETTY bad...no REALLY REALLY REALLY BAD...please READ MY BIRTH STORY trust me!...but it really is all worth it in the end, just remember that. No matter what, you will not regret it.

If anyone has any questions/comments, feel free, I'd love to talk...but I guess it's time to move on to the i-am-pregnant site.

As you can see, I'm a big Nicole Richie fan. Despite all the talk about her, I really admire the woman she has become after going through so many downfalls in her life. We all make mistakes, no one is perfect.

oh and I just read your birthstory. I swear they pick the most ignorant ppl to work in the hospital. As many nice and competant nurses I had during my stay, I had teh equivalent in ignorant ones. And I noticed your son shares my eldest daughter's birthday!!!

Wow! i just want to say thank you for sharing your birth story. It scared me and made me laugh at the same time. Finally - a true birth story - your experience wasnt that terrible, but perfectly normal - its just no one wants to talk about it cuz everyone will say how dramatic you're being. Good Job and dont worry, you forget all about it and before you know it your on baby #3 like my dumb a$$ is..... lol!! I promised that my birth story wouldnt be mushy gushy either cuz seriously it sucks! Gotta love the girls from NY!! Tellin it like it is!! Im from Syracuse area...I used to play ball in Hamburg NY, (many years ago) I think thats by you right?? I've heard that going to the bathroom inadvertantly while you're in labor is really common. A nurse that spoke at my childbirth class said that if this freaks you out too much, you can give yourself an enema at home, before going to the hospital. She said that in the very early stages of labor, you're still not -that- uncomfortable, but as you realize that the contractions are becoming more regular, you'll know that you can start the enema. I am still not sure if I'll do that or not. I've read about them, and it sounds disgusting and uncomfortable. But is it better than doing it at the hospital? Who knows.

Nope, not really dilated yet ("a fingertip," according to my doctor. I think that means "not"). I also don't know the difference between BH, cramps and contractions--I THINK I'm having lots of cramps, especially when I drive, which is weird. But only 2 more days of work and then I can take it easy til the baby comes!

Yes I am 2cm .. that was last week and the baby dropped like 2 weeks ago. My doctor thinks that it will be sometime this next week. I go in on Friday and she will see if I am anymore further along.

I am feeling tired and warn out...I have a 13 month old which keeps me busy and I work full time. At the end of the day I am just so warn out! I am not dilating at all right now and the doctor said that my cervix is soft. He really hasn't given me any other information than that. He is not planning on stripping my membranes or anything either. But I am working hard to get this baby out on my own!

I can't believe they won't break your water or strip your membranes or something. With my first when I was at a 4 I was in so much pain I wanted my epidural. That is just crazy! Is this your first? Good luck to you...hope the baby comes soon!

A lot of ppl don't think that the IV hurts. I'm just the biggest baby ever. haha I have tattoos. but then I'll cringe the whole time they are prepping me to get blood work. hahaha. DO NOT know what's wrong w/ me. I just feel that the skin on the back of your hand is so much thicker then on your arm! And when they put the needle in your skin kinda "pops"! I'm sorry. I don't mean to scare u . It just scares the hell out of me!!

So any day now huh?! OHMYGOD!!! GOOD LUCK!! I have 9 days to go.

Soooo I had my dr. appt. this morning. I am now 4cm dilated, 80% effaced, she could feel his head dropped really low. Dr. thinks baby is coming out in the next day or two, maybe sooner! She said if by week 39 (5 more days) he hasn't arrived, she is inducing me. AHHH!!! :) So, she took me off of work...she said if I have another scare like yesterday, go to the hospital...haven't loss my mucus plug yet (I don't think)...but we'll see!!!

I don't know what they're doing with this site that's making it act all goofy. It's frustrating though. I am looking forward to my c-section but I'm so scared! Not about the c-section, but more about my IV and spinal! The IV hurts so freaking bad. Next time you have a scare you better go home earlier!! It sucks having to work and be uncomfortable. I've had really strong braxton hicks lately, and it just knocks the air outta me.
