Me and my fiance Gary, been together for nearly 5 years and got our first baby on the way! So excited!

We met on 13th June 2002, got engaged in Mexico in 2004, was so romantic, Gary had arranged with the hotel we were staying in to set up the veranda of one of the restaurants, which over looked the ocean, there was champaigne, candles and little flowers on the table, and Mexican men wearing sombreroes waiting on us all night.... There was Mexican music playing, the noise from the ocean and Gary looking nervous as hell throughout the whole meal!! I was hoping he was going to ask me something, and at the end of the night, he did! and I said YES!!!! We havn't set a date to get married just yet,but plan to have our first baby in July 2007! Had several problems throughout pregnancy though, first had a small bleed, scan showed there was an 8mm blood clot, then had another bleed, much heavier, thought i had a miscarriage, turns out that the blood clot had grown and come away, baby still ok (phew) and then last week got my results from the triple test which came back as high risk for downsyndrome, had to have an amniocentesis test, this baby has come through quite alot so far and i have my fingers crossed s/he will be ok after i get my results.

Today is Monday 12th February and at 10am I received a phone call from the hospital, good news!! My results from my amniocentesis test came back and my baby does not have downsyndrome! I can now finally start looking forward to the rest of my pregnancy! I have my 20 week scan booked for Thursday 15th February and I cant wait for that!

Last night I was lay in bed and I swear the baby was trying to kick its way out!! It was the first time my hand had felt it kick, usually i feel little flutters inside, but last night i felt the baby kick out, it was really weird! But was really nice at the same time! My partner was asleep next to me, and he had to get up for work a few hours later so I didnt want to wake him.... I had my other hand over my mouth trying to laugh really quietly, but the more i tried not to laugh, the more I laughed more, I was really tired the next day though because I lay awake all night waiting for the baby to kick again! Haha I think maybe over the next few weeks I will begin to get used to it and get a decent nights sleep-hopefully!!

Today, Tuesday 8th March, I went to speak with my Consultant, just to make sure everything was OK after my amniocentesis test last month, I got my results back that everything was good and healthy with the baby a few weeks ago, the appointment was to see how I was, all was well. I mensioned to the consultant that I hadnt felt the baby move for 3 days, as I had been feeling baby move every few hours every day before hand, so he got me to lay down whilst he got a dopler to listen to the heart beat, heat beat was strong and baby was deffo OK, he said he could hear the baby kicking around and that maybe i wasnt feeling it as the baby was in a weird position, he felt around to make sure my uterus was where it should be too, should be just raising above my belly button, but instead of it being anywhere near my belly button, the top of my uterus was right up near my ribs and im only 22 weeks pregnant!!! He didnt seem too concerned though, but - I am booked in 2 days before my due date to discuss inducement? Also, i thought was strange, as I thought you need to be 2 weeks over ur due date before you get induced, not 2 days early!! He said, "If you are having a big baby, lets just hope you go before your due date eh"????? Blimey!! I was hoping to not have any pain relief, the way things are looking, im gonna need it, especially if my instincts are right, and im gona have a HUGE baby!!!! AAAHHHRRRR, im sooo scared!! haha So long as my baby is healthy I dont care how big it is!! :o) So looking forward to the day i get to hold him/her!

Well, today is Thursday 8th March, and I have been released from hospital this morning, woke up yesterday morning with a terrible head ache, felt really sick so I went asleep for a few hours on the sofa, woke up feeling worse, by then was around 12pm, so I thought I best try eating something, so I had some melon, and felt worse again, so i went to lay down, I woke up about 20 minutes later, having to run to the toilot, which i almost didnt make, and threw up, alot! So I went back to bed, still not drank anything all day, woke up about 7pm still feeling horrible, but by now I had really bad lower back ache and lower abdominal pains, so I called my midwife and she asked me to go to the labour ward so they could assess me to see what the problem was, turns out, I had really high blood pressure and they think an infection was starting in my water, so I was observed over night, was given an anti-sickness needle and some painkillers and was put on a drip to hydrate me again. My midwife has to come out to see me every day though until my blood pressure goes down, so no work for me for a few days! YEY! Still got a slight head ache but hopefully once I have slept again tonight, it will be gone in the morning!! Fingers crossed! Will keep y'all posted on anything else that happens!!!
