Tuesday, 24 June Hi there, hope that you're doing ok. Babies aren't giving you too much trouble. Well I had my dr's appt yesterday and she agreed with me about going on sick leave. I just handed in the dr's note to my boss and she was very understanding. My last official day of work is next Thursday (July 3). But next week Tuesday is a holiday (Canada Day) so next week will be really short. This should give me enough time to tie up all the loose ends here. I'll have to manage through the rest of the week but at least there's light at the end of the tunnel. I'm so looking forward to being able to take it "easy" at home. I appreciate your support and advice. Anyways I better get back to work...talk to you soon! kimpx2 -
Thursday, 19 June Aww well thank you!! HONESTLY, for the first few days home, I thought I was going to die.
;-) It got better though, like everyone said it would but only after taking matters into my own hands. As I'm sure you already know, babies loooove schedules and they work wonders for me, too. Now we all sleep a total of 9 hours at night (of course we wake up two times in between) and we have very specific methods for doing... well... everything!!
I felt like such a horrible mother when one baby would cry his little heart out while I was occupied with the other but as soon as I realized that they wont die if they cry for a couple minutes I was able to gather myself and my sanity.
GOOD LUCK with everything. Although it's tough, I wouldn't trade it for the world. kar -
Thursday, 19 June Thanks so much for all your wonderful advice...I really appreciate it! BTW walking with my back straight, bum clenched, and doing my pelvic excercises at the same time...lol, I can barely walk and talk at the same time. But I'll give it a try. Thanks again and we'll chat soon! Hope that you have a great and painless day! buninoven -
Thursday, 19 June Yayyyyy! Good luck with the house! How exciting! My bag for the hospital is now officially packed. I just got the cutest boy/girl twin outfit on ebay!! Super cute! One is a little dress and the other is a pants and top for the boy, matching the dress! Love it!!! Good luck at the appts next week! I am happy your tummy is better! :) J.baby -
Thursday, 19 June I started taking iron after my first blood test back in march, my doctor said i was slightly anemic. I first took feosol, its a little green triangle and is very strong. when i ran out of those i just bought some generic iron from the pharmacist at target(it was only $2.29!). I try to take it after i eat my biggest meal of the day since i heard it can make your stomach upset and i havent had any upset stomach(yet). My doctor also advised that i take my prenatal vitamin at a different time of day than the iron...that way my body would absorb as much of the iron as possible. I feel good so far and noticed a difference in my energy level.
hope you are feeling better! take care kar -
Wednesday, 18 June I haven't tried the hot water bottle, 'cause I was told by the Registered Massage therapist I saw last weekend to avoing putting anything hot (could induce labour) on my lower back. So I listened...
I'm from Canada & I've opted to deliver with an ob/gyn and not a mid-wife (we don't get to have both here). When I was pregnant with my 1st child, my ob/gyn was very unsympathetic, mind you I was ok and worked till the end of my preganacy. But this time around I've picked a different dr. and she seems much nicer, but I'm still worried that she'll just shrug off my concerns/pain and tell me to just deal with it. I don't think that I could deal with that...so keep your fingers crossed for me, :)
Is your daughter in school? How are you managing taking care of her with your pain? Mine likes to be picked up sometimes (she'll be 3 in 2 wks) and I find it so hard saying no to her (breaks my heart). But I think the worst is that I don't have the energy to play with her as much as I used to... kar -
Wednesday, 18 June Actually that's what I'm hoping that my dr. will agree and put in a request that I stay home. I can take short term disability which is payable by my work till my c-section date and after that start maternity leave. I'm just hoping that my dr. will be willing to do that. My ob/gyn appt is on Monday so hopefully she'll help me out. Was it your dr's suggestions or your own that you stay home? Well either way, it's great that you're feeling somewhat better. And you need all the rest you can get before your twins arrive, lol. bowling4 -
Wednesday, 18 June Wow! You look fabulous! You do look kinda small for twins, but everyone is different. My girlfriend was 8 months pregnant and she was the same size as I was at 5 months! She did have an issue with low fluid and baby weight, but she delivered a beautiful 6 lb 7 oz baby girl. I love my belly and so does my hubby....guess that is all that matters. Have a great day and a wonderful pregnancy!!!!

Wednesday, 18 June Yayyy! My belly button is just starting to pop!!! Do your hips and knees ache at night? Mine sure do, I thought it was just a weird sleeping position but it is almost every night now. I just finished writing my phone list down of family and friends to call because you can't use a cell phone in the hospital. All of my numbers are plugged into my phone so I hardly have to remember them. We will have to use a land line to call everyone. Have you had your glucose test yet? Feel better soon!! :) J.baby -
Wednesday, 18 June My dad is a doctor...he advised me to take my iron with food every time. Even with food it can upset your stomach. I think our stomachs are just super sensitive to straight iron. buninoven -
Tuesday, 17 June Hiya! I am sorry you feel so crummy! Those babies need to be nicer to you!!
I got my bag pretty much packed, now I need to pack for the kids. There is more to it than I thought! I hear the hospital sends you home with a bunch of pads for me and diapers for the babies. Free water jugs and containers, all sorts of freebies! Just to bring clothes and car seats and such. Luckily, if I forget anything we live 5 minutes away.
My mom and I got to go shopping for pj's afterwards that button on the tops. I think the many visitors we get are going to just see me in PJ's for awhile until I get that breastfeeding tricks down.
Awww! The cuff links were a great idea! Good job Mom! The hubbs loved his picture frame and gift card!
I just got my file cabinet all set for what needs to be mailed off after the kids arrive, like birthcertificate applications and social securtiy numbers. My hubby calls it financial nesting. It just feels good to be organised!
We will have to exchange addresses! That would be fun! If there is anything over here you want me to send you, let me know!
Feel better soon! Icecream always helps me when my tummy is upset! Take care!! :) buninoven -
Sunday, 15 June Bummer you have the tummy bug!!!! No Fun!!! I hope you feel better soon! :)
Congrats on setting your induction date! It seems so final. I need to officially set my date too. My dr said sept 8th but its not booked yet. I am still shooting for aug. 30th, I'll be happy with either!
I hope we will be able to find time to check in with each other afterwards. I hear it gets pretty busy those first few months! I promise I will try to find time!
I don't have my bag ready yet. The hospital said you can wear their gowns or bring your own and I don't even own one of those long grandma gowns. I hope I can just wear a cute pair of PJ's... I don't really want to wear those tents the hosital supplies. The good thing is that my house is 5 minutes from the hospital so if they come super early he can bring my bag to me. My mom is coming into town tomarrow so maybe that will be our mission, to get the bag ready. Thanks for the reminder, I kinda forgot about it.
Tomarrow is fathers day and I got the hubbs a "Father" picture frame with a picture of the ultrasound in it & a gift card to Sears to buy tools. Guy stuff!
Feel better soon!! Take care!!! :) Aasi14 -
Friday, 13 June ahhhhhh okk....... iam all confused here with so many questions, my doc is an old cranky lady, does not like to answer too many questions. twinstwice -
Friday, 13 June Oh i hope you feel better soon. Doesn't getting sick now seem so much worse than you would normally feel when sick? When we were in Hawaii we went ocean fishing - I have never ever had motion sickness before in my life (and I never really had MS either with my pregncies) but it must have been the combination of the two - I was over the toilet for 3 hours! Finally I managed to keep some gravol down and was able to enjoy the remaining 4 hours!
Congrats on getting a date, hard to believe there is only 10 weeks left!!! Do you have all the stuff you need? I am not taking any iron, but I am a good meat eatter so maybe I am fine.
I am feeling alright - some days I don't know how I am going to make another 10 weeks - I feel like there is a tonne of weight on my pelvic floor and that everything is slowly moving downwards. yikes. Did you have physio? mommaotwo -
Friday, 13 June thatnks for your input :) I hope they just come soon I'm sick of being pregnant and I still have a long time to go :( buninoven -

AWWWW! You look so cute!!! buninoven -
Friday, 13 June I am over my mopies! Gotta love those hormones! We met with the nursing coordinator today and got the paperwork and birthplan togeather! We had our hospital tour last night too. We are officially ready!
Bummer to hear your back is giving you trouble again! Less than 100 days for the both of us.....we are almost there!!! Just a little while longer and the back will be better and the uncomfortable stuff will be all over!! You have been really brave through all of this!!I think this very last trimester is going to be rough, but it is only for a short time now compared with how far we have come now.
Do you go through days when the kids are super quiet? My boy is just an occasional thump. My girl is still the busy one.
Feel better soon! Take care!!!!! :) :) twinstwice -
Thursday, 12 June Oh ya, I checked out your belly pics - and you look good. I would say we are probably about the same. Most people are surprised that I am 6 months along with twins. The odd person asks if I am due soon (I think because I was buying baby wipes and cream at the pharmacy - little did she know I needed it at home)! twinstwice -
Thursday, 12 June I totally understand, I am exhausted by noon and I am not doing much during the day. It is frustrating when I used to be so active. My husband just reminded me that last time I would nap for 1-3 hours everyday for the last couple months (I was complaining to him about being so tired - I forgot that I napped last time) so maybe I have to get back to doing that when the girls go down!
BTW - my girls are good sleepers now, but it was a long hard haul for the first year - so I would love to send some good sleep luck your way but I don't think you would want it from me. ABCsMommy -

Wednesday, 11 June I hope that physio goes well (that's what I do when I am not being a mom - but more sports stuff).
Our holiday is good, tho the weather not so good. Oh well, I found a drop in tot gym today and we have made it to a few parks. It has also taken a bit to get our sleep worked out - I don't get it, its only a one hour difference. Oh well, they finally slept 12 hours last night and thru a wicked thunderstorm as well!
It is getting increasingly difficult to move about!
