Wednesday, 28 May That is so cool you are having boy & girl twins!! (i just read your comment about having your appt.) i was secretly wishing i would have boy/girl twins :) ....having just a little boy though. congratulations! twinstwice -
Wednesday, 28 May Oh, I am sorry about the BHC. Not fun at all. I had a ton last time but it was worse with me working since I had a pretty physical job. Now I can at least sit down or lay down here at home. I hope you are feeling better.
I was sitting with the girls today and their weight and the weight of my belly was just getting too much so I told them I had to lay down on the floor, and so they both cuddled up next to me and rested their heads on my pillow with me! SOOO cute!
My mom comes home tomorrow for a week and then I am going with her to her summer house for 10 days with the girls. I can't wait, it will be fun to see them play on the beach.
So my girls shared a crib for 6 months. At that point they started only napping for about 45 minutes (from 1-2 hours). I called it their bewitching time as it was when they would change sleep cycles, wake slightly and then go back to sleep. But at six months they started rolling at the change in sleep so they would just wake each other up. It got really frustrating trying to rock them back to sleep and get them back into the crib so we separated them and that was the end of that. They didn't even fuss about being separated. We had our extra crib at my parents so we were ready to go when we needed it. When we first brought the girls home and put them in their crib we could have put at least 4 more babes in there! buninoven -
Wednesday, 28 May WoW! Those pictures are fun! My boy was sitting on my girl a my 3d so we couldn't get a good picture of her either. On ebay, if you type in boy/girl twins there are the cutest little outfits with matching boy shorts and little dresses. They are super cute! I feel super huge and tired today. We had a great weekend with the hubbys family. His sister gave us a baby bjorn front carrier and my hubby confessed to wearing it aroud the house for a little while today when I wasn't home. He is super excited! I hope you had a great weekend and your back is doing better! Take care!!! :) erikas -
Wednesday, 28 May Hello,
Love your 3D pics! It must have been amazing to see them so realistically. Did u get a dvd of them too? Too bad your little girl was being shy, but cute shots of your boy...any names?? For my boys it between Pheonix,Hunter and Taylor for now...everyone has their own opinion of course...Dont stress about them coming early. Whatever is meant to be will be, and worse case scenario, medicine is very advanced now and they can survive 2lbs babies...
Good thoughts to you,
keep well TWINSX2 -
Tuesday, 27 May How are you feeling these days? Hopefully all is going smoothly for you, You only have 14-16 more weeks, can you believe it? I am jealous. I love pregnancy for a short period but have always been ready for D-day long before the half way mark!
Take care! twinstwice -
Tuesday, 27 May How are you doing today? My stomach feels like it is ripping apart and lifting the girls makes it feel way worse.
So I can't drink milk but I drink soya milk. I will try it and see if it makes a difference. But it usually happens when I am full or when I lay down, not exactly when I want to drink another glass of milk.
No change for delivery, it will just depend on how they are growing so I won't know until closer... end of August I presume. TWINSX2 -
Sunday, 25 May I'll keep praying they stay head down and you have an uneventful delivery! I bet the 3d was so awesome, I had one with my first two pregnancies(at no charge since the office I managed did them)but when we moved, and I chaged docs, they do not offer them and there isn't a facility near by that does. It would have been nice to get pictures of both, but atleast you got some of the little man!
Best luck and thanks for the buggy info., Looks great! twinstwice -
Saturday, 24 May Hey, got to go, my girls are up. We will have to chat again later! twinstwice -
Saturday, 24 May Oh my GOODNESS! That is hilarious. I think I should buy two and attach one to each side of my double umbrella stroller so that I sill have 4 side by side by side by side!!!! You are great, thanks for looking out for me! I am still laughing thinking about how I will get NOWHERE with everyone stopping me and asking me about my twins. Just you wait, it is next to impossible to go out without every other stranger stopping you and asking you if it is twins. Ok, it is fun to begin with, but then there are days you just want to run out and get something done quickly and sure enough it is seniors day and every granny wants to comment on your babes. Of course everyone always asks if it is twins, and over time you will come up with smart alex comments that you would never to say to anyones face and you will always politely say, "yes they are twins". And even though you will have one in pink and one in blue, you will always get.. "so two boys huh?". I don't understand how I can have both my girls in head to toe pink and people still say they are boys. Ok, I do understand because they were bald for so long (and still struggling to grow hair), but come on people, pink for boys??? twinstwice -
Saturday, 24 May What are buggy boards? Are you talking about the attachment to strollers that they stand on? If so, I think they are too young right now, but maybe in a year that will work. I found a double stroller that can have a toddler seat and ride on board attached to make it a quad so I have been looking on ebay to see if I can find one pretty cheap.
Congrats that they are head down! Another few weeks and they will probably run out of room to do the big sommersaults so hopefully they will stay that way!
Yup the girls are full time work, but they have been so much fun lately. They are climbing on everything since we have been going to the parks every day that it is sunny, and they are trying to mimic more and more sounds from us and then they have their own little conversations with each other! And they will play with each other which gives me a break. And they still nap from about 2 hours or so every afternoon (that is where they are right now!) so I have to say life is pretty good! Yes, I am very happy. I just try not to think about how hard life will be come the fall (maybe these two will be dream babies and so easy to take care of... my first two weren't so easy for the first six months) but they are wonderful kids now!
I am getting tired more easily now, and doing this dishes is hard having to reach across the belly into the sink. And I am starting to get a bit of heart burn. Other than that, really I am doing quite well I think. My back/pelvis has been a lot better since our holiday as long as I don't do too much at home. So how about you? Are feeling REALLY pregnant? twinstwice -
Saturday, 24 May That is good that you can work from home. It gives you a chance to rest when you need (or eat!) I only have one more day of work next week (I have been working only once a week this year), I am sad but after that I am going away for a few weeks to visit family so it will be nice to have someone else taking care of me and the girls.
I haven't bought a new stroller yet. I think we will wait and see how it goes unless we find a used quad quite cheap. I am boring a friend of mines double tandem stroller that the car seats fit into (it is the same one I had before and makes life very easy) and my girls right now are quite keen to walk everywhere so maybe after the winter they will want to ride again and then we can find a quad.
I would send you nice weather if I could but it has been raining here this week now and we are once again stuck indoors! buninoven -
Saturday, 24 May I think from here on if they are born early at least there is a chance they will make it. They might be million dollar babies but it makes me feel better knowing that there is a chance to survive now. They have been pretty quiet the last few days just bumps here and there, but sometimes WOW! They bump so hard I think they might have hurt themselves. That must have been fun to talk with a midwife and get all of that info! That sounds good to me! This weekend is memorial day holiday so we are going out of town to my inlaws to stay until late monday night and do the family thing. We will take the dogs and do some fishing and lots of eating! I can't wait to be spoiled for 3 days! I will have to find out tuesday night how your scan went!! I can't wait to hear how it goes!! I won't have access to a computer until then. Good luck!! Saturday, 24 May Thanks so much for your thoughts! We had surgery on Wednesday and the girls have blown away the doctors. Their signs of TTTS have completely reversed themselves and they are doing beautifully! Most of the time if the surgery works they don't see improvement for at least 48 hours and even then it is only slight. 12 hours later they were already doing great now it has been 36. Now I just have to keep them in there at least 8 more weeks. Thanks again! TWINSX2 -
Friday, 23 May I have a Phil&Ted's double which I love. The same guys make the Adventure Buggy line which has a quad, and we e thinking that may be the best(and priciest) solution, especially since we LOVE our Phil&Teds.
I am doing great, I can't believe the difference from 1 week ago. I know all this energy won't last, so I am trying to enjoy it while it lasts!
I have chatted with twinsagain several times. She told me about the Adventure buggy. 1busymamma -
Friday, 23 May I know exactly what you mean! There is also this really great group where moms of twins meet once a month and they all get together and share experiences, get advice, and exchange babysitting....I would love to go but it's three hours away from where I live! However I've heard that they are everywhere so you should check it out and see if they have one near you, it'd be worth it! =) buninoven -
Friday, 23 May Oh wow! That totally made me cry too! I can't beleive it is going to happen to us!!!! They were so tiny, did you catch how much they weighed 7 how far along mom was? Thank you so much for sending that to me!! :) buninoven -
Friday, 23 May That is so cool you have your twin classes coming up! You will have to let me know what they tell you! Mine are in about a month and its just one day for a couple of hours. They have a parenting class I will go to in a couple of weeks but its for one baby. I thought there might be something for me there. My boy I felt right away bunches and now he is the quiet one. Don't worry about going into the messy details with me, I don't mind at all! Thats the fun stuff that no one tells you about. How long have you been dribbling too? Is it going to be like this here on out? One of my patients at work today is a twin and she was 17 and she said she loved being a twin. I asked her the best part and the worst part, she said its so great to have someone who is always there and knows you better than you know yourself, like an old married couple. The worst was being lumped togeather in everything, no seperate identity. the mom said they were born 8weeks early and they were 3lbs each but they made it through with no major trouble other than the first initial weeks of being in the hospital. Its fun to hear a happy ending! TWINSX2 -
Friday, 23 May Hi, How are you feeling these days? I am anxiously awaiting my scan to find out sexes!!! Just one more week! Atleast all the ms, fatigue, etc has passed, and I am finally able to enjoy this pregnancy!!!! I have started the stroller search in earnest. I will either need two double(and never go anywhere alone) or a quad. I am also deciding what to about high chairs etc. I will need four, which will take up lots of space or I will need to move the current babies to the table earlier than I usually do.Thank goodness that is something that can wait until we reach the point of need. I will need a stroller from day one practically. So, the search is on!!!!!!!!! ErikaS -

Thursday, 22 May Well, everything is fine. He say's it is normal to have light spotting after or during intercourse. He said the cervix is very delicate. Even when it is just poked with a Q-Tip it can bleed! Thanks for the concern, but thankfully all is well! buninoven -
Wednesday, 21 May That is so great you get paid time off! That is an amazing benefit!! No, its unheard of here to get paid during maternity leave. The employer will still pay your medical insurance premium but thats it unless you have vacation time stored up. They can't legally replace you at your job for 3 months, if you are out longer than that the law allows them to hire someone else to fill your position reguardless of what your occupation is. Most places won't ,but if they are big turkeys they might. So we have the chance to save up for my time off of work! My girl moves tons more than my boy, is that how it is with you! She is very busy in there! I get scared sometimes because he moves so much less. The Dr said he is just in a position where I can't feel it as much. Are you at the point where you have to use the restroom all of the time again. Ugh! It seems like every few minutes I am in there and nothing! Fun! buninoven -
Tuesday, 20 May WoW! You are pretty much just home growing babies, that is so great! So far I don't have any big symptoms that are keeping me from working and when I am there all I do is sit, so I guess I get to keep going. Part of me wishes I could just be home growing babies too. We don't get paid time off here, they just pay for our insurance for 3 months while we are gone, unless I have vacation time stored up no actual $$. We put some of our tax returns away and that will cover expenses while I am off of work. Is there anything you an do for your back? That must be no fun when you can't get comfortable. Its already hard enough to get comfy without that to deal with too. Your colors sound really cute too! I tried to go neutral too. Are you going to get 2 high chairs for feeding? My friend showed me how to put my breast pump togeather, that is just so weird that it is for me. Sometimes it feels like all of this stuff happens to other people, not me. Sometimes I just am in shock that I am having kids. I have watched all of my friends get pregnant and have them and thought, maybe someday. Then I think not just one but 2!! This is going to be a fun ride for sure!! KristenK -
Tuesday, 20 May Congrats Charlotte!!! That is awesome!!! Is your daughter excited? We really don't have that much more time left. They scheduled my c-section for 09/09/08!! We are getting closer and closer!! buninoven -
Monday, 19 May Congrats on the pram!!!! That is great!!! I registerd for mine and my mother-in-law said that she wants to get it for us. I Just need to get one more crib skirt for the other crib and I am done with the decor for the most part! What is your baby room going to be theme-wise? I am doing red and white gingham with tan walls and white trim. Red and white is boy/girl neutral. I have a white changing table, the matching red and white changing table pad, matching white baskets with the red and white liners. I even have the red and white light switch cover! My cribs are white with red and white gingham bumper pads, diaper stacker, sheets and cribskirts. My friend is making the matching quilts. I will do white dressers and toy boxes, I registered for those. The curtains are red and there will be a red rug on the wood floor. I have a little red and white sign above the cribs that says "sweet dreams". Early on I bought a stroller with a car seat before I knew there were going to be two! It can be the back up one! I went to my nieces birthday party and my sisters motherinlaw asked how much weight I had gained! What do you say to that? I hope you had a great weekend!!
