twinstwice - Monday, 25 August
Just wanted to say good luck with your delivery if I don't get a chance to log on before then!

So my water broke Thursday morning - we went to the hospital and they monitored me for a bit but I wasn't progressing (I was positive for group b strep) so they had to augment me and gave me oxytocin. My contractions started progressing and eventually I had to get an epidural - which helped only temporarily again. Anyways - by the time I started to push (I swear I was dilated to 10 for well over an hour but no one had checked me) - it took only 5 minutes to push out my boy - and then it was only another 10 minutes for the other one!

We were only in the hospital for a day and half - the babes are doing so well - much better than my first set. And things at home are going much better than the first time as well! It is a ton of work but we are loving our little ones to bits. AND it is so nice to be able to play with my little girls again too!!!!

Good luck again! I look forward to hearing your story!

TWINSX2 - Saturday, 23 August
I was thinking twinstwice had probably had her little ones also. Hope you go before induction, and have a quick easy delivery! Best wishes!!!! The docs told me if the presenting twin is head down they will let me attempt to deliver( depending on sizes)a breech. I am still hoping theyboth turn like the last set. But whatever happens, and I hoping and praying for healthy babies!

buninoven - Saturday, 23 August
HIya!!! How are you feeling??? I hold my babies and think, wow they are heavy I can't imagine what it would be like if they were still in there. You are amazing keeping them in there this long! Good Job!!!!!!! Keep me posted!! Good luck :) :)

TWINSX2 - Friday, 22 August
I have my fingers crossed for you!!!!!! Hoping for anytime!
They will not discuss dates yet, as both babies are breech and they are giving me till 35 weeks for them to turn, before setting any dates. So we are praying they turn quickly! The doc said he did not think he would let m go past 37 weeks( which feels like an eternity from now) but we have a lot going on over the several weeks so hopefully it pass quickly!
Take care- keep me posted!

TWINSX2 - Friday, 22 August
Hi how are you doing? wondering if maybe you had had those babies yet! Can not wait to hear your story!

twinstwice - Wednesday, 20 August
So the scan was alright - the fluid was good and their size is ok - but the change in weight may be a concern. The boy measured 5 lb 3 oz and the girl was 5 lb 8 oz. That in itself is ok but the boy was 5 lb three weeks ago so I am wondering if I will get a call from the doc this week to come in or if when I go for my appt next week he will induce me then? I guess we will just have to wait and see - everything is about waiting at this point!!!

How have you been getting along? Are they still trying to peek out?

spadoinkle - Wednesday, 20 August
yeah im trying to get work done.. congratilations on the house!!i cant imagine moving right now.. it feels like nothings ever fully finished hehe.. im not resting or putting my feet up enough im still working and my boss and coworkers are making me feel bad.. but my feet are huge. mine were moving like crazy today but it feels like theyve dropped a bunch in the past 2 days.

Jamie21 - Tuesday, 19 August
LOL Aww, that is funny!! I cry at the end too, but to me the labor part it made me too scared and then with my twins I was so surprised at how easy it was.... For that one any way.
Wow, 18 hrs of labor with no pain meds wow!! That must of been a long 18hrs. I heard that its mandatory too, but when they had the lady come in when I was in the hospital and talk about the epidural she said that it was up to me, they recommend it but I don't think you HAVE to have it.
A girl had twins after my and she has no epidural just did the laughing gas. Then there was another lady I knew who had twins after that lady and did one twin with pain meds and they had to do an emergency c section for the other so I have no idea.
The epidural hurt less for me then when I got my belly button ring, but its all on your perspective or pain tolerance.
Yes they do really encourage it, and I have never done it before and they gave them to me both at once and was shoving and pulling and just really disencouraged the whole thing, and I'm not a big fan of it to begin with so that just totally ruined it there as well.

Oh yes I watched that show too!!
All those shows I had to stop watching when I was pregnant with my boys it made me too nervous, especially the birthing stories.
Yes the feeding I remember those, I did not produce enough breast milk to breast feed so good old formula, I did try though and they wouldn't latch on mind you I guess they say you need to have the right nipples, and if you dont' they give you a nipple shield to work, but it all felt just too weird!! My boys ate relatively good and at the same time so it was nice.
The birthing I'm sure everything will go just fine, the Epidural is a life saver

twinstwice - Tuesday, 19 August
So last time - I had two bouts of mastitis and ended up with one boob producing more milk later on than the other so I kept rotating kids from side to side for each feed. Even though one babe preferred the right side (of course the bigger boob) but we were nearing the end of nursing so it wasn't a huge deal. I can't believe how big my boobs are - when I bought the nursing bra I had to go up from a size from last time - and my milk isn't even in!!!! I have gone from an A to a D and then some (I call them my porn star boobs - ha!)

So if your DH is going to work on the house on the weekend are you hoping that you don't go into labour then and just make your induction date?

It will be exciting to have your nursery together. We went out last night and got a second swing - we still had one from last time but had sold the other one - never imagined we would need two again. Anyways, the people we bought the swing from were super nice and gave us a free exersaucer! And it is the exact same one as we have from before.

I haven't really been testing my sugars much anymore - my numbers were so good that the dietician said just to monitor occasionally which I do when I eat something different - and they still are good. So yippee! The only thing that has been getting worse is the heartburn again - so bad that we had to go to the pharmacy and get something stronger - it takes longer to take effect but last night it lasted the entire night (rather than waking every two hours) so I had a great sleep - just up to pee a couple times and eat once! Minor miracles!

Did you have a good weekend off?

Jamie21 - Tuesday, 19 August
Oh I know haha they are probably cute until they learn how to talk and the wonderful word NO! My kids have learned to say no, but they don't use it so that is okay.
They I don't think understand exactly we do ask them where baby is and they will point to my tummy and sometimes to daddy's ... some days I feel I wish, but oh well.
So are you getting nervous to having 2 new borns around? To me that was the easiest stage is when they were new borns, mind you maybe not at the time, but now they were. I guess it helps if they are on same schedules for me for sleeping and everything.

spadoinkle - Tuesday, 19 August
im feeling good.at least you have a day.. i met a girl today that is a twina nd she said her mom carried for 42 weeks.. kind o scared me hehe.. how are you feeling?? are you all ready?? im finishing the nursery in the next few days my mom and my sister are here visiting and helping so hopefully theyll be coming soon!!

twinstwice - Tuesday, 19 August
I think that I am ok with not knowing as I would prefer to go into labour on my own - and thus can't predict the day.

Here's a new one - itchy boobs!

About nursing.... so I fed my girls tandem - the pillow I had made a world of difference. Someone posted a website for a twin nursing pillow under the multiple sections that looked like the one I used. Feeding them tandem definitely helped make life easier and helped cut down on the time you are nursing. I have heard about women who nursed separately and felt like that was all they were doing all day long - especially early on when they need to feed almost every 3 hours. I did feed them individually occasionally - if we happened to be out in public and I didn't want to strip down (much easier nursing twins if your close to naked top half). I think some of the books say that my feeding them individually helps to bond to each individually - but I don't think its a problem as you are still holding each of them when you nurse them together.

Now given all that - I had identical twins and they were pretty easy to have on the same schedule - including feeding. There were times at night later on that I wouldn't wake the other if one woke to feed - but always within an hour the other one would wake to feed so I kept to my routine of waking the sleeping one and feeding both at the same time. It kept me sane and got me a little more sleep. It will be interesting to see how b/g twins do - if the boy needs to eat more or not - we will see. I think what I will do will be to feed them tandem again and then maybe switch boobs if it looks like one is still hungry. Last time I had so much milk that I would pump after so maybe I will have extra milk again. Hope that helps - feel free to ask me any other questions.

Jamie21 - Monday, 18 August
Oh really? Aww I'm sorry to hear that, I had a pretty rough time due to bed rest and thinning of my cervix at 24 weeks, so I was required to lay down 24/7 from 24 weeks until 38 it was long and boring =).
My pregnancy no it wasn't hard as in sick or anything, but I don't get sick during pregnancy with my boys or this one so I guess that is good. But I was tired all the time I could always sleep except for night time due to my boys were a wake at night and kicking me all night.
Oh so the girl is the one that comes out first? or baby a as they call it? My boys were head down pretty much every week when we did our ultra sounds so I guess that is good. If the boy is breech he could probably do a flip around when baby a comes out.
Yes we did find out the sex of the baby this time, and its a girl!! I am very excited due to we have two boys already and a girl will be a change.

Jamie21 - Monday, 18 August
Oh really? Hmm yeah unfortunately I lacked on consitency with moisturizing my belly with my twins, but this time I do it every day after show and so far so good. So are yours identical or fraternal? or do you not know that yet? Boys or girls/? oh sorry for the questions lol
Oh I am feeling great, pregnancy doesn't affect me when it comes to sickness or anything other then running around after 2 20 month olds its enough to drain you.
So your being induced? Well good luck my labor was very easy and I didn't need a c section so hopefully you don't either.

babytaisha4u - Monday, 18 August
Soon for you now
