Hello!! My name is April and this is my first child. My husband and I are so excited!! We have known eachother for almost 10 years now and just recently got married last April and moved to the Dallas area. We just bought a house and now pregnant! I have always wanted a family, everything just seems to be falling into place. It's great. I would like a little girl and of course he wants a boy, either way we will be very happy though.

Dec. 18th
Now in week 14! The first 3 months were really hard. No more morning (or I should say all day) sickness though. My energy is up again and I feel great! I can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl. Just a few more weeks till we find out. It will be so much fun buying stuff for the little baby. Still thinking of name ideas, right now I can only think of girl names I really like. :-)

Dec 20th

I am feeling great today. It's my day off so running errands is a must. I'm trying to get everything for Christmas ready. I can't beleive it's here!! Time just keeps flying. I'm sure the next 6 months will go by so fast. I hope so. I can't wait to meet my little one. My next Dr. apt is Jan 7th. I am going to find out if it's a little boy or girl. There are so many cute things out there for little girls to buy, but I just want a healthy happy child.

Jan 1, 2008

Happy New Year's!!! I can't beleive it's 2008. I have no idea where Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas went. Time is just flying by. Things are going good with little Baby Maszy. I am starting to feel little flutters, it's pretty exciting. My tummy is starting to show. My regular pants don't fit anymore, but that's okay I love my maternity pants. They are so comfy!!!! Next Monday we will find out if we are having a boy or girl. At first I really wanted a girl, but I am just so excited now it really doesn't matter. I can't wait to start decorating the baby room.

JAN 7, 2008

We found out today we are having a baby girl!!! Everything looks great. Today we went baby furniture shopping. We found a few things we like. There is so much cute stuff out there. We also went to the mall today and I saw the cuttest little princess baby socks, just had to buy them!

JAN 10, 2008

Well up to this point I have gained 5 whole pounds Kiss Its feels like more though. So I guess with the average of 25-30 pounds that my Dr. said I should gain, I guess I have 20-30 to go, yikes! Tongue out I feel good though, I'm starving all the time! I try to snack on healthy things like fruit a lot, instead of munching on potato chips all the time. Sometimes though, ya just have to munch on the chips.

JAN 12, 2008

Yesterday Tony and I got our little baby doppler heart monitor in the mail. It's just like the one the Dr. uses. We can listen to her heart beat! It's great!! It kind of sounds like galoping horses. Very cool.

JAN 15, 2008

We ordered the baby furniture! It's great. The crib converts to a toddler bed and then to a full size bed. They had the crib in stock but the dresser & mirror had to be special ordered. Tony put the crib together last night in our room. I love it!! I can't wait till the rest of it gets here. Tony also went and picked out paint swatches. I guess it's time to pick a color. Any suggestions???

Jan 27, 2008

Well this week I had the flu. Not fun!!! I started feeling kind of crappy on Monday and just thought, "great bring on the morning sickness again...", but no lucky me it was the flu. Had to stay home from work for 2 days and sit in bed. I'm feeling much better now and back to work. Other than that things are good. I'm feeling her kick and punch now. It kind of stops me in my tracks.

February 6, 2008

I had my Dr. apointment yesturyday. Everything is going great!!! Babies heart sounds good and I'm growing like I should :-) I've gained about 10lbs or so. Things are looking good. I'm feeling pretty good. I have most of my energy back, which is great! Going to start working out with my trainer this weekend and I start a prenatal yoga class at the hospital at the end of this month. Pretty excited about that, I've never taken yoga. It will be fun to meet more mommies in the area too I think. I do find it hard to sleep sometimes. I woke up this morning at 3 AM and could not go back to sleep for the life of me. I was wide awake. Not so much fun! We decided on a name, Elizabeth Marie. Elizabeth is a famly name on my side that goes back to the 1600's. It's also my mom's name and my great grandmas name. Sometimes little Elizabeth likes to jump up and down on my bladder!!! Yikes!!!

February 9, 2008

I am moving into my 6th month now, I can't beleive it! It was a pretty busy day for me. Today all the little baby bedding came in the mail. It's so cute!!! We went to Home Depot to get all the paint for the baby room. Going with the Disney Princess Theme, lots of pink and blue. We also got some flowers and pots for outside. I can't wait to have my own flower gardern! Started up some tomato seeds too. Also got a baby swing today too and put that together. I also had my 1st apt. with my personal trainer. I havn't been to the gym for 5 months!!!! She created a whole new "pregnancy" workout for me, it was great. I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow though. All in all a good day Laughing

Feb 21, 2008
I made it to week 24, woo hoo!!! So far I have gained 13lbs and everything seems to be right on track. It's getting hard to sleep at night though. I get excited if I sleep for a whole 3 hrs. before waking up b/c I have to go to the bathroom or my back gets all jacked up. Not to mention I have this really bad cold. I am soooooooo stuffed up!!! That is making it hard to sleep too. I basically have to sleep sitting up so I can breath. I hope it goes away soon!!! Undecided

Feb 23, 2008

My cold is gone. Thank god!!!! I can breath. My back hurts though, only on the left side. The only thing that helps is if I sit in a warm bath. YOUCH!!

Feb 28, 2008

Well my cold is gone which is good, but I still feel stuffy. I'm so grumpy all the time and I hate it!!! I just don't want to do anything anymore. Starting to get sleepy again and the left side of my back hurts A LOT!!! Starting to feel big too. It doesnt help that everyone at work keeps telling me how big I am and when I tell them when I'm due there eyes bug out of their head. One guy at work keeps telling me my face is filling out. Well thanks!!! ??? The moron, I dont want to hear that stuff. On a good side, I do feel Elizabeth kick and punch more now. She was kicking up a storm last night, I loved it!!! It's a good feeling to know she's growing strong in my belly. Next week is my next Dr. apt.

March 13, 2008

Wow 3 months to go! So exciting!! I had my glucose test last week. Wasn't bad. It tasted like fruit punch Gatorade. So we'll see what the results are. Getting tired and feeling big! 3 more months I can make it!

How`s my pregnancy doing?

I read your post on giving birth naturally and I am doing the same thing. I had both my other kids naturally and my son I was in labor for over 24 hours and my daughter was only 3 hours. Her birth was pretty easy. Make sure you can really concentrate and have a focal point for the pain mine is with my eyes closed I feel more relaxed that way. My son was the hardest and I got stuck in bed because he was 6.5 weeks early so I was not aloud to walk around or change positions. Message helps a lot and changing position a lot will help as will with dealing with pain. I am not going to lie it is going to be hard and there is times when you feel like you can not do it and those are the time to have your partner really get involved with you and make sure you stay in controll and stay on top of the pain. Dont think about the contraction in the future or the past or how hard or painful that one was just concentrate on the one you are having. I have found rubbing the sheets or my belly with my finger tips that helps with taking some of the pain away from the stomach area. I practice at home with ice cubes. I will put ice cubes in my hand for 1 min and squeeze real tight and breath through each one and I do this for about 1 hour and try different positions and breathing patterns to find which are the most helpful. If you have anyquestions let me know and good luck. I know you can do it if you put your mind to it but dont feel like a failure if you do need help with the pain there is nothing wrong with that. Have good evening.

My second delivery I didn't have any medication at all, thank goodness I went from being admitted at 6cm to delivering within 35 minutes!!!! It was the worst pain I have ever experienced, and I can handle alot of pain. I don't know what I would have done if I would have had to push for more than an hour, like I did with my first son. I had an epidural with him and the last 20 minutes my son was in distress with my contractions. I wasn't focused on pain and was able to focus all my strength on pushing with all my might so I didn't have to have a C-section. I will have pain managment with this birth because I want to be able to focus on my baby and not climbing up the bed in pain. What ever you choose you will still have a beautiful baby girl in your arms.

hey there. i have three kids and have had them all natural. no meds. a thing i have found is to have your nurse or husband stand at the bottom of the bed and when you start with a contraction have them push your legs up alittle just below the knee in the grove have them hold it there till the contraction ends. while doing this do the breathing. this really helped when i had my kids. also have a cool wash cloth for your face it feels nice to cool off alittle towards the end. also if your doctor will allow it get the ice chips to keep your mouth wet because you will get dry mouth with the breathing. natural is painful towards the end but it goes fast and is easy recovery for the most part. just hang in there and it will be worth it in the end when you hold your baby. good luck and let me know how it goes. best of luck.

Hello April! Congratulations on your precious girl! I'm also expecting a girl, but not until September-October.

I've had 5 children, 3 with absolutely no pain relief. Let me tell you, it's definitely worth it. You will get to a point where you honestly believe you can't stand it and will die without some sort of medication, but that means you're going into transition, and it's nearly over. Hold on for a few more contractions. You CAN do it. And once your precious baby is born, her and your recovery will be faster and less painful for not having had any medications. All the best!!

I wish you the best of luck! Remember though, stay flexible and if you find you just can't do it natural, there is no shame in asking for help and the end product is still the same...Baby Dust!

meximom - Wednesday, 21 May
I gave birth naturally after 36 hrs of labor. I was also put on pitocin...it really hurt. My advice would be keep an open mind and don't beat yourself up if you need pain meds. If you have to pre register for an epidural do it. I would also recommend learning PMR and guided imagery. You need to learn how to focus and relax while in pain.

My second child was born in a wheelchair on my knees in the middle of the ER. (Not because I waiting too long, but because they sent me home twice) My best advice on natural child birth, don't get in any big hurry to go to the hospital. Stay home where you are in control, use a heating pad or hot water bottle, soak in the tub, stay surrounded by your things in your own atmosphere. When you are in control of the pain, it seems a lot more managable. Good luck!

I saw your post about natural childbirth and thought I'd put my two cents in. :) I've had two kids totally naturally and think that it was the greatest experience! I took the Bradley Method of childbirth classes, which I highly recommend, but think its a little late for you to do the whole series. (They take like 12 weeks). I would recommend getting a book that discusses that method, though - check out bradleybirth.com. They focus on deep, abdominal breathing, relaxation, mimicking sleep as you have contractions - it really worked for me! The most important part was to really truly relax and let your body work with the contractions - this is pain with a purpose and each contraction you have is one step closer to meeting your baby! If you want more info, I could go on, but see what the website says first. Congratulations and best wishes!

the red raspberry leaf tea. the nurse in l and d yesterday said itll make the little contractions count instead of going to waste. she was right! hahah. its not fun, but at least they arent painful

Grace - Thursday, 8 May
Never heard of that before, but I thank you for your advice, I wonder if it's sold in our area.
Thanx

HillaryB - Thursday, 8 May
You'll be fine. NON-STRESS TEST. I've had a total of 5 now. They're so relaxing i want to go to sleep.I don't because i like to see my baby's heartbeat go up and down.

amandajlane - Thursday, 8 May
I wish I was at home too!! I now completely dread coming to work everyday. At least I know someone else is in the same boat :)

hey, i have hypothyroidism and i'm 34 weeks.. my doctor has never mentioned NST or having u/s every week.. are you taking your meds right?? i wonder if i should bring that up to him? he never mentions anything about my hypothyroidism.. i think they tested my levels at like 17 weeks and decreased my meds, but they haven't check them since then.. hmmm.

HillaryB - Thursday, 8 May
 this is a beautiful crib.

HillaryB - Thursday, 8 May
hi,i don't know what hypothyroidism is,but i go everyweek to get a NST that's followed up with a doctor's appointment. they're pretty cool,i just lay back and the nurse monitors the baby's movements to make sure her heartbeat go up and down. She also monitors me for contractions and she takes my bloodpresure. this is all because i go to a high risk doctor . I hope this helps you. If not ,ask your doc.

mariela14 - Monday, 5 May
Haha, sometimes I forget I'm pregnant too! It's getting less common that I do but all along I've been doing things the same as I would if I wasn't pregnant. It's so wierd and I don't know how I can but sometimes I really do forget too! I thought maybe I was the only one. lol.

MAGGIEMAE - Monday, 28 April
I guess if we only eat the fast food every now and then we will be ok!!! :) Glad to hear I'm not the only one!!

preciousangels2 - Monday, 28 April
Wow, you guys definitely don't have any family near by!! We've lived here for about a month and still don't really know anyone either. I bet that totally made your day though! I know it would have made mine! I'm feeling alright, just wicked sore. I fell down the stairs yesterday. That was exciting! No carpet either, we have wood floors, so the stairs are wood too. Fell right on my tailbone and then hit the middle of my back on another step. My back cracked a whole bunch. Scared me, but at least I didn't fall on my belly! So other than being sore from that, I have most of the usual late pregnancy complaints. I'm sure you know what I mean! How are you feeling? Ready yet? I sure am!

preciousangels2 - Monday, 28 April
Aw, that's awesome! I wish I would get a surprise shower! Doubt it though. ALL of our family live at least 3-4hrs away. And that's just my hubbys side. All of mine live 1500 miles away!!!! Ahhh! Glad you had a great day though, that's so awesome that they did that for you!

majad - Thursday, 17 April
You look good!!!! Some women will envy you, because they dont show untill like 8-9 months :). You look healthy and sexy!!!! :) Just like me....LOL.... i gained like 40 pounds already!!!!

question - do you really need to buy Dreft to wash baby clothes???

No. Unless your baby has crazy sensitive skin than it cant hurt to try. But besides that you can use regular detergent.

raebabe - Thursday, 10 April
Hi there! I just read your post on what to expect when it comes to losing weight. I know everyone is different, but here is what happened with me! I had gained 47lbs total by the ninth month. I had to have a c-section and I lost 30lbs within the first month or two. The rest unfortunately didn't come off until 1 1/2 years later and then I got prego again!!! Oh well. Doing much better this time with only 17lbs gained. I guess I can thank my busy 2 yr old for that. Hope this helps!

AddyPreggersW1st - Tuesday, 8 April
Congratulations on being pregnant with your little girl! How exciting!! I am also expecting a girl, which came as a shock to us...for some reason I thought I'd have a boy first. As long as my baby is very healthy, it doesn't make a difference. We are thinking of using Elizabeth as a middle name since that was my Hubby's grandmother's name...she was such a great lady. So far, we like Isabella and Mikaela for first names but haven't decided on one or the other. Anyhow... Hope all is well with you!!

pregoteacher - Friday, 7 Mar
I had seen your post about it tasting like fruit punch, which is way to sweet for me. I am also worried about sugar shock, that is what makes me sick with sweet things. It is too much too fast and then I am sick. I never had this test with my other kids.

erica93 - Thursday, 6 Mar
where did you get your travel system and what kind did yoiu get? We are still deciding on ours.
