Hello!! My name is April and this is my first child. My husband and I are so excited!! We have known eachother for almost 10 years now and just recently got married last April and moved to the Dallas area. We just bought a house and now pregnant! I have always wanted a family, everything just seems to be falling into place. It's great. I would like a little girl and of course he wants a boy, either way we will be very happy though.

Dec. 18th
Now in week 14! The first 3 months were really hard. No more morning (or I should say all day) sickness though. My energy is up again and I feel great! I can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl. Just a few more weeks till we find out. It will be so much fun buying stuff for the little baby. Still thinking of name ideas, right now I can only think of girl names I really like. :-)

Dec 20th

I am feeling great today. It's my day off so running errands is a must. I'm trying to get everything for Christmas ready. I can't beleive it's here!! Time just keeps flying. I'm sure the next 6 months will go by so fast. I hope so. I can't wait to meet my little one. My next Dr. apt is Jan 7th. I am going to find out if it's a little boy or girl. There are so many cute things out there for little girls to buy, but I just want a healthy happy child.

Happy New Year's!!! I can't beleive it's 2008. I have no idea where Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas went. Time is just flying by. Things are going good with little Baby Maszy. I am starting to feel little flutters, it's pretty exciting. My tummy is starting to show. My regular pants don't fit anymore, but that's okay I love my maternity pants. They are so comfy!!!! Next Monday we will find out if we are having a boy or girl. At first I really wanted a girl, but I am just so excited now it really doesn't matter. I can't wait to start decorating the baby room.

We found out today we are having a baby girl!!! Everything looks great. Today we went baby furniture shopping. We found a few things we like. There is so much cute stuff out there. We also went to the mall today and I saw the cuttest little princess baby socks, just had to buy them!

Well up to this point I have gained 5 whole pounds Its feels like more though. So I guess with the average of 25-30 pounds that my Dr. said I should gain, I guess I have 20-30 to go, yikes! I feel good though, I'm starving all the time! I try to snack on healthy things like fruit a lot, instead of munching on potato chips all the time. Sometimes though, ya just have to munch on the chips.

Yesterday Tony and I got our little baby doppler heart monitor in the mail. It's just like the one the Dr. uses. We can listen to her heart beat! It's great!! It kind of sounds like galoping horses. Very cool.

We ordered the baby furniture! It's great. The crib converts to a toddler bed and then to a full size bed. They had the crib in stock but the dresser & mirror had to be special ordered. Tony put the crib together last night in our room. I love it!! I can't wait till the rest of it gets here. Tony also went and picked out paint swatches. I guess it's time to pick a color. Any suggestions???

Well this week I had the flu. Not fun!!! I started feeling kind of crappy on Monday and just thought, "great bring on the morning sickness again...", but no lucky me it was the flu. Had to stay home from work for 2 days and sit in bed. I'm feeling much better now and back to work. Other than that things are good. I'm feeling her kick and punch now. It kind of stops me in my tracks.

I had my Dr. apointment yesturyday. Everything is going great!!! Babies heart sounds good and I'm growing like I should :-) I've gained about 10lbs or so. Things are looking good. I'm feeling pretty good. I have most of my energy back, which is great! Going to start working out with my trainer this weekend and I start a prenatal yoga class at the hospital at the end of this month. Pretty excited about that, I've never taken yoga. It will be fun to meet more mommies in the area too I think. I do find it hard to sleep sometimes. I woke up this morning at 3 AM and could not go back to sleep for the life of me. I was wide awake. Not so much fun! We decided on a name, Elizabeth Marie. Elizabeth is a famly name on my side that goes back to the 1600's. It's also my mom's name and my great grandmas name. Sometimes little Elizabeth likes to jump up and down on my bladder!!! Yikes!!!

I am moving into my 6th month now, I can't beleive it! It was a pretty busy day for me. Today all the little baby bedding came in the mail. It's so cute!!! We went to Home Depot to get all the paint for the baby room. Going with the Disney Princess Theme, lots of pink and blue. We also got some flowers and pots for outside. I can't wait to have my own flower gardern! Started up some tomato seeds too. Also got a baby swing today too and put that together. I also had my 1st apt. with my personal trainer. I havn't been to the gym for 5 months!!!! She created a whole new "pregnancy" workout for me, it was great. I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow though. All in all a good day

I made it to week 24, woo hoo!!! So far I have gained 13lbs and everything seems to be right on track. It's getting hard to sleep at night though. I get excited if I sleep for a whole 3 hrs. before waking up b/c I have to go to the bathroom or my back gets all jacked up. Not to mention I have this really bad cold. I am soooooooo stuffed up!!! That is making it hard to sleep too. I basically have to sleep sitting up so I can breath. I hope it goes away soon!!!

My cold is gone. Thank god!!!! I can breath. My back hurts though, only on the left side. The only thing that helps is if I sit in a warm bath. YOUCH!!

Well my cold is gone which is good, but I still feel stuffy. I'm so grumpy all the time and I hate it!!! I just don't want to do anything anymore. Starting to get sleepy again and the left side of my back hurts A LOT!!! Starting to feel big too. It doesnt help that everyone at work keeps telling me how big I am and when I tell them when I'm due there eyes bug out of their head. One guy at work keeps telling me my face is filling out. Well thanks!!! ??? The moron, I dont want to hear that stuff. On a good side, I do feel Elizabeth kick and punch more now. She was kicking up a storm last night, I loved it!!! It's a good feeling to know she's growing strong in my belly. Next week is my next Dr. apt.

Wow 3 months to go! So exciting!! I had my glucose test last week. Wasn't bad. It tasted like fruit punch Gatorade. So we'll see what the results are. Getting tired and feeling big! 3 more months I can make it!

Hi there. I think your baby's upset tummy likely is a food sensitivity. Docs might say it's gas or acid reflux, but really it's your diet that causes those things. My first child had a similar reaction when I had any dairy--even a taste. Dairy is the most common cause of adverse reactions in breastfed babies. Try eliminating all dairy for two weeks and then reintroduce it in one of your meals to see if that is the culprit. If it is the cause, keep it out of your diet for several months and then try again. Babies grow out of it, so eventually you will be able to eat dairy again.

If it's not dairy, then try tracking your diet to see what is setting her off. With my current baby, she can handle dairy, but if I have any spicy food it makes her vomit after feeding, so I've had to eliminate spicy hot foods from my diet--which is hard because I love spicy foods. :(

It's so worth it though. Both my breastfed babies have thrived and been super healthy and are so happy. I hope you don't get discouraged by her sensitivity--it's just another way that you're both so connected and she is telling you what is best for her little body. :)

Hi looks like you got lots of responses already, but thought I would just add what worked for Noah. He would scream like that sometimes and it turned out being an upset tummy/ gas. My husband is really allergic to peppers...I stopped eating them and that helped, so seemed like it was something I was eating. I also have overactive letdown and he would end up gagging on my milk and swallowing lots of air when he got upset and then gassy (you can double check your latch and make sure she isn't swallowing lots of air) When he gets fussy and seems like he has gas, we lay him on his back, lift his legs up a lil and alternate bicycling them and pumping them into his tummy. Usually produces LOTS of farts and releases all the discomfort! good luck!

The main diet culprit is dairy... I know alot of women need to cut it out of their diet, I read your post in the one month forum, did you post it in the breast feeding one as well? There are several moms in there who had to eliminate certain foods, and they can probably help you more than me!

it could be trapped gas. try to lay her flat on your legs with her head at your knees and pat her back. my son is the same way..which turned out to be colic. things that can upset thier tummys are milk, onions, spicy food, caffiene. i cut all of them out and started seeing results. also part of my problem is i have an overreactive let down, where my milk comes out to fast for him to swallow making him suck in air. anyways.... try to curp her alot. a warm bath calms them also i found that holding my little one around his belly and bouncing on an exercise ball gets alot of burps. sorry im so long winded, but i hope some of waht i said is helpful!!!! good luck :)

When I read your post it reminded me so much of my little girl. She did that when I breastfed her as well and she ended up being diagnosed with acid reflux. She is so much better right now. I hope it gets better for you :)

yeah one thing ive noticed with the constant eating is it usually comes directly before a nice long five hour sleep so it almost makes it worth it!

Hey - is she perhaps working on passing a bowel movement when she screams like that? Mine goes fussy after a few minutes at the breast and passes a bowel movement and is fine afterwards.

Hi I am also a exclusive nursing mom and I know that when I eat spicy food or if I drink pop before feeding her she has a lot of issues. I also noticed if I eat take out or pizza stuff like that it bugs her so if you are eating stuff like that try to cut it back or out. If you drink a lot of pop try having it after you nurse that way by the time the next feeding comes it will mostly be out of your system.

Does she take a pacci? she might be a little confused if she does, mine was preferring the pacci but then I stopped giving it to him so much and now he's back to normal and taking his pacci normal again. She might also have gas because that WILL cause them to act like that, mine does it too, but when I finally work a little while to get it out then he relaxes, might also try milicon to help it to come up if you have trouble getting them to come out. Wal-mart has a equate brand of milicon and you get like 3x as much medicine for less than half the price (I believe, it's been a while since I've bought any) but it's still an awesome deal, cheaper and lots more for your money, the taste is also soothing I think. Hope this helps.

MARA does the same thing!!!! i used gas drops and started drinking chamimile (sp) tea, NYmom on here is the biggest help with BF , all the girls are but she helped me a ton!!
i also cut out dairy, i eat bland bland bland! i hate seeing her in so much pain!! it was so sad but its getting better everyday with the way i eat, let me know how it goes for ya! go to my page and click on NYmom and ask her anything she is wonderful!!

My Baby was due on on June first but I had her early on May 31 and I too named her Elizabeth but her last name is Mae I was going to name her with Marie but my cousin had a baby and named her baby's middle name Marie so i didn't but i just thought that was neat Congratulations on your Sweet baby Elizabeth!!!!!!

How are you doing. Me still pregnant went to the doctor Friday and I went backwards CRAZY My doctor said he may have not been right last appt because he thought this time I was 25 percent effaced instead of 50 and I was only dialated to 1 cm. I was bummed out. She has not dropped and still is floating. I am due in 3 days and I dont think she is coming but today I have been having a lot of BH contraction and some really wierd discharge I think is my mucus plug so maybe some time this week. Will have a good evening

Nothing helps my headaches either. I'm sure part of it is from the complete lack of sleep. I got a better night sleep last night and today has been alright so who knows! Just keep thinking, things will get better!

I wish we were somewhat on a schedule. There is absolutely NONE what so ever! All I know is that I'm not getting any sleep. They say to sleep when your baby sleeps but how do you do that when you have a 3yr old you have to watch too? OH well! It'll get better. I can't believe tomorrow he'll be a week old! Crazy how fast time goes by. I kinda can't wait until he's a month or 2 old. I think that's the best time. They laugh and smile and make little baby noises! But I want him to stay little. Oh well!

Just checking to see how things are going. I am still pregnant and from what it sounds like it will be for awhile according to my doctor. Maybe he will be wrong. Are things getting easier with the baby and the black circles around your eyes going away. I remember those first couple of weeks they are pretty rough some times when you are not getting much sleep. I feel the same way! Although I don't have the black circles yet! Hopefully it doesn't get to that point! Last night was better. And he got up at 5:30am to eat and went back to sleep and didn't get up again until about 10!! That was sooo nice! I think every night gets a little bit better. How is your little one doing with the sleeping? Some what getting on a schedule??
