OK here goes... July 3rd 2007 the love of my life asked me to marry him under the fireworks, and of course i said YES! 2 weeks later we went to the beach to spend some time alone and to celebrate. Apparently we had a little to much fun because fast forward 2 more weeks and I was pregnant!! I feel so lucky to be where I am rite now. Things are a little out of order from what we had planned, but having children was going to come soon after being married, so now I have the best of both worlds. Sometimes trying to plan a wedding while being pregnant isn't such a good idea and I have to put things aside for a little while and get my emotions in order lol I've had a tuff pregnancy so far- 2 stays in the hospital, and everyday I try to tell myself "things can only get better from here".
11/15:
Soooo I am really getting excited- I have had 2 sonograms and we were told both times that it is probably a girl because they didnt see any "little boy parts" buuuuuut they also didnt see any "girl parts" either. We are going for our 3D/4D ultrasound this Saturday and the deal is if they cant give us a definite answer on the sex then we get to keep going back for free until they can tell for sure.. I have thought it was a girl the whole pregnancy and I am really hoping I am rite, but we will be happy no matter what. Counting down the hours is hard enuf, but then throw in not sleeping at nite and laying awake wondering what the sono will show is starting to take its toll! I'm so lucky I have a great boss because there are days I swear I am about to fall asleep at my desk lol
11/19:
The 3D ultrasound was amazing!! I am so glad I spent the money and had it done. I was able to bring my Fiance & his grandmother in with me and there was a big soft couch for them to sit on and everything was displayed on a gigantic flat screen tv. It was such a special moment and I was so glad to be be able to share it with them! But best of all I got a definite answer on the sex and it has already put my mind at ease so much. Now to start picking out baby stuff!!!!!

3 hr glucose test tomorrow and I think my nerves are starting to get the best of me. I didnt realize how serious all this could be until I really starting reading up on it *deep breath* I've been trying to really watch my sugar intake but it is sooo hard- I swear I wake up thinking about chocolate!! But on a happier note I"M GETTING MARRIED!! We met with our Pastor and the wedding has been moved up to January 19th!! The doctor didnt think waiting til March was such a great idea- so we figured hey, we are going to marry each other either way, so as long as our families are free that weekend why not just go for it?
12/28:
Talked to my doctor yesterday and he said my results were slighty elevated from the GT but for now I just need to watch what I eat, but I am allowed some sweets occasionally- I wish occasionally meant like every hour lol I am starting to think I am carrying around a GIANT in my tummy!! I feel her all over and its starting to get very uncomfortable. She seems to like to wedge herself up in my ribs so sitting at a desk is becoming a challenge.. I am lucky my boss is very sweet and she understands, so now I have a stool to put my feet up on and a chair that I can slightly lean back in- it helps quite a bit :) Wednsday is my next appt & I have a Rhogam shot to look forward to..
2/8:
Been a while since I posted anything- Life has been a little crazy. The nite of my wedding my father got very sick and has been in the hospital ever since. He had a severe infection in his colon and now is dealing with a bacterial infection that has spread. Dr's are trying to pin point what type of bacteria it is so they can treat it :( I am praying that het gets better and can come home soon, its so strange with out him here. At least I work at the hospital where he is an inpt so I get to visit him often... Apparently I am getting pretty big because everyime I go over to visit him I am asked if I am in labor and if I need a wheel chair lol When the day comes that I am the patient no one is going to believe me!! I am going to the Dr every 2 weeks now and that really made me realize how close the big day is getting.. Well that and the fact that my shower is in 2 weeks -> The hubby and I are soooo excited to see what great gifts we get for Sophie!! Hopefully our apartment will be finished by then so we can start decorating her room and have a place for all her stuff! I really want to be all moved in and settled when she decides its time...

I do ask my husband those questions all the time and he usually says nothing. Oh well, hopefullly he will snap out of it when the baby is here. But it is just so crazy that he is more hormonal than I am and really ruining what is supposed to be a special time for me.

I was reading what you said on the other page about how you have to go to the hospital and everyone is trying to get you in a wheel chair.. that is awful... people have no clue and can be so rude! I know what you are saying some people say things like .. you are eating to much better lay off the sweets! OMG I feel like yelling at them!

hi, thanks for responding, i feel much better now. i guess it could have been the baby, i am carrying sort of low. but you know i also have borderline gestational diabetes. and i ate some of my dad's cookies 5 to be exact and they are sugar free. well it turns out when i read the label that if you eat more than like two, for some it acts a laxative. guess who got lucky? lol well no more of those of me. actually im not even sure we could eat those. but i had a bad sugar craving.

Hey,
I'm still feeling paranoid about the wet undies thing. The doc said if it was fluid it would be more and a constant leaking. The thing is my underwear is always wet. It's not overnight but it is during the day.
Are you concerned at all?
It's not like the discharge I used to have earlier when it was thicker. This seems just like urine.

Thank you for your message it was lovely. I was worried you 28 weekers would think i was nuts posting on your board.I just can't get over it. I was mean't to be due on april the 8th. I am going docs on friday to see if he can refer me for a scan. I have lost all pregnancy symptoms even tiredness and excess urinating. This was one of my signs of m/c last time. There is one good thing that could come out of repeat m/c... they might actually investigate whats wrong with me. Anyway enough ramble. Its not over until its over and until i find out otherwise i will hope and pray for a healthy baby. Take care and keep well. Lots of good wishes for April. Helen xxx

Hey I read your comment about getting married Saturday, Congrats! I just got married November 30, so I was about 24 weeks pregnant then, and we just got a really nice hotel room with a king bed and tub and stayed in and ate chocolate covered strawberries. It was really sweet, and you can always go do something interesting or fun on your anniversary.

Thanks for your comment which I am pleased to receive - even though we planned to find out the sex I am kind of excited that it will now be a surprise, and am getting tired of everyone telling me they're sure it's a boy because of the way I am carrying...so it sounds like it is still very much 50/50!

Hey how are you? Did you find out your results form the glucose test?
Mine came back normal. Weird! I didn't like sittingthere in the Dr's office for 3 hours though! And my arms hurt after they were done pricking me 4 times! I'm glad it's over. I am sending good vibes your way in hopes of good news!

The class i sighned up for was offerd my hospital. Its a lamaze class as well as a prepration class where they will talk about pain management and breat feeding as well as birthingplans and it ends with a tour of the hospital. I am looking forward to it. As a first time mom im not really sure what to expect and any information is always apresheated.

Hi! I read your post about the glucose test. I just failed mine too and I have to go back Monday and do the 3 hr one! My nurse told me that they take your blood when you arrive, you drink the mix and 1 hr later they take your blood again and you drink the stuff and they take your blood and so on.... Are you worried at all about they results? I am a little. Do you or have you been eating a lot of sugar? I have! I never used to, but now, I LOVE sugar! I notice the baby is super active when I do eat sugar. Well, hang in there...you're not alone. : )

Hm, I am a little confused by your message. I had a UTI at week 19, took antibiotics and it went away. I'm fine now, at 25 weeks. I agree that it is best to take the meds and not wait.
