Well, I'm officially overdue and having a December baby instead of a November baby. My original due date was Nov 28, then it was changed to Dec. 3. Both dates have come and gone. Last week I was dilated 2cm and this week 3. Today is Tuesday and I scheduled an induction for Friday. I have to be there at 4:00am. They have to start the IV right away since I tested positive for GBS. She'll break my water around 6:30 and start the pitocin at 7:30. I really didn't want to be induced but at least I have a definite day and time and I can quit sitting around wondering when "it" is going to happen. The hardest part will be being away from my son. He hasn't been feeling well and it will be hard not being with him. We're pretty sure we're naming our baby Grace. I still like Savannah and tossed around the name Lydia, but Grace has been on our list from the beginning and it is hard to let it go for another name. I guess I'll know when I see her Friday!! I am praying that all goes well!

Went in for a check up today and I'm 1cm. dilated, but still "thick." She has me taking red raspberry tea leaf capsules and evening primrose. I would love to go into labor naturally this time and avoid being induced. I'm feeling pretty good for 36w5d. I've gained 10 pounds which my doctor is happy with considering she only wanted me to gain 10-15. Time is ticking down. I can't wait to meet her. I think once I see her I will be able to choose a name that "fits."

Today was our third level 2 ultrasound and everything looked great! The heart looks fine and they were able to see the spine easily. What a relief!! At 35w1d, she is weighing in at 5lbs.10oz. The head is measuring two weeks ahead, my son had a big head too. That makes for a fun delivery, lol. Our choices are now down to Savannah or Grace. Only a short time left to decide.
8/21/07 Went back for another level 2 ultrasound. The white spot on the heart is still there. It is called an echogenic focus. We were reassured that it is very common and wouldn't have even been seen on a regular ultrasound. We were also told not to worry but how can you not worry when a spot is on the heart that shouldn't be there???? On a positive note, everything else looked great. She now weighs 1lb. 15 oz. (at 25w 5d). We got to take home a couple of 3D pictures of her face and that was really amazing. I can't believe she tripled in weight in 6 weeks. It's all going by so quickly. We still haven't decided on the name. I wish we could settle on one, because I want to be able to call her by name. I like Grace, Lilia, Sophie, Savannah, Madelyn, Olivia and Sadie. It's picking which one and convincing my husband too. He likes Shelby and Kendall and I don't like either. Choosing a name is so hard!! If anyone has had an ultrasound that showed this problem please let me know. I would love to hear how things turned out. Take care, Cindy
OH MY GOSH, IT'S A GIRL!!! We both thought it was going to be a girl but also thought we were going to be surprised and told that it was a boy. We both wanted a girl so bad. I guess maybe Shettles does work! Went for a level II ultrasound July 10. They did lots of measurements and everything looked fine. She weighs about 10 ounces. They couldn't get a close-up of the heart and said we would have to come back. Well, they had me drink some water and wait a couple of minutes. After that they could see the heart but there was a white, bright spot on it. The Dr. said it's pretty common and should go away as she grows. If not, it could be a marker for Down Syndrome. We are praying that everything is ok, no other markers were found. If ANYONE has been told this, please let me know. I've been reading on Google and it sounds pretty common. We go back on Aug. 21 to see how things look. A couple of names we like are Savannah (hubby likes), Sophie (I like) and Sadie (we both like ok, but was our dog's name), our last name is pronounced /fay-bish/. Any help choosing would be great! So just 20 more weeks and we'll be there!!

Hello everyone. I thought I'd go ahead and sign up so maybe soon I can get some pictures posted. I'm a special education teacher who is married and I have a son who was born November 4, 2004. My husband and I met in high school and dated from 1989 until we got married in 1996. We waited until 2004 to have our first child. I took off about 6 months with him. This time I would like to take off from the time of the birth until the next August. IF things work out with his job, then possibly another year as well, we'll see. I've had a couple of ultrasounds already but am waiting for the BIG ONE on July 10th. I'm a little nervous because I've had several infections already with this one. Plus, my age puts me at higher risk. I'll just keep my fingers crossed. It has been really nice having this website. Getting information and tips from others who are going through the same thing is the best!
