Friday, 30 May I haven't gotten NEARLY as excited about my pregnancy as my mom and best friends. I understand what you are saying. I just spent all of today crying. But I think it's because I am so broke , my boyfriend doesn't live with me yet, and I feel like survival is not handled, so how could I even THINK about what effin' color to paint the baby's room? Also, my boyfriend is extremely laid back, and I think that makes me feel like I need to be, too. I hope you/find our bliss soon. babyfever -
Friday, 30 May You may, deep down just be afraid to be excited about the baby, this is a scary time. We can't see in there to make sure everthing is going okay, so you could be afraid to let your guard down. However, I am now pregnant with my 3rd, but before my second was born, I got really depressed and felt like i had no feelings. They are saying now that post-partum starts before birth. I was actually diagnosed with post-partum physicosis after my daughters birth. So be careful, and if you don't feel like yourself - get help. rubberduck36 -
Friday, 30 May GOd knows that we have all have a spell like that, at least your younger, i am 36 years with my first, and i question myself all the time. Hell there are days i don't even want to get out of bed, and other days i say why me...but i also realize that there are people who can't have children, and there hope are empty. Anyway when i am feeling down, i use writing as my tool, you have a blog here leave your feelings so you can figure it out, the other resource you have is us, and your doctor leave them know how you feel. Good luck and we are here if you need to vent again flyswim12 -
Thursday, 29 May I feel the same way but I chalked it up to being a more "realistic" person. Right now there really aren't too many changes in my life, except that I am not supposed to drink alcohol anymore and there is something growing inside my belly. :) I forget all the time that I am even pregnant and others find that strange but I really don't see a problem with it. I know that when the time is right I will feel exactly how I should feel about this baby and I will love it no matter what! What somebody else feels doesn't have to be what I feel. Please don't feel like you're being a bad mom because you're not excited yet! Maybe you're just not as dramatic or emotional as others are. (I told my best friend that I expected to get a little choked up when I saw the ultrasound or heard the heart beat because that would make it "real" and when the time came-nothing, not even a little teary-eyed, and she said "that's ok, you've never really been in tune with your emotions.). I think we will be great mothers we are all just different. You will be wonderful! :) blessedwith3 -
Thursday, 29 May What you are feeling is normal. A lot of women feel blah during pregnancy. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I didn't feel excited until I finally saw her on the ultrasound. You will get excited, but remember that you have all these changes happening to your body, all these hormones and the only thing you have gotten so far is bigger and having to go to the bathroom more. As your little one develops, you will start getting very excited. By the way, my first 2 are boys and boys are SO MUCH FUN!!! You are going to have a blast! autumnandbabygirl -
Thursday, 29 May Dont be so hard on yourself, its very normal to feel this way, if its your first its very common. It wont last to much longer. Give yourself time to deal with the idea. B4 you know it you will be on cloud 9. jenysalt -
Thursday, 29 May I think you it may not be a reality for you yet. Plus you may feel scared about being a Mom. I have a feeling you will get excited, especailly after you hold him in your arms. Dee08 -

Thursday, 29 May I know what you mean, I feel the same way. I think in a way it still doesn't seem real to me. Maybe that's why I haven't gotten too excited? I haven't bought anything yet and have just gone over a few names...
I've had issues with depression before and I wonder if that's what's going on... but I think it's more that it hasn't really sunk in yet. I say we give it time. It just might take having the baby in our arms to do the trick!

Thursday, 29 May Really?? Thats sad your not excited. Are you ok overall? Is there something making you unhappy? It could stem from other things. Is the babys dad in the picture?
Either way I am sending you great baby vibes and I am happy for you!!!!
Hugs! Chicky -

Wednesday, 28 May No I've never tried that. I will have to check it out. My brother used to get those when he was little too. I guess it's more common in boys. He was fine this morning, just tired. Thanks for the info!! Chicky -

Wednesday, 21 May Hi yes finally! I was starting to worrry. It is little in the morning and by nightime when I have a full belly it is quite big. It also depends on the clothes I wear. If i wear fitted clothes - it stands out - if I wear cargo pants it is not so noticeable.
I just got movement - definite movement in week 17. It's a feisty little thing, I didn't realise they could thump so hard! I only really notice it sitting or lying down doing nothing otherwise I don't notice - unless it really wants me too! with those hard knocks - its gotta be a boy! I am carrying really low as well probably becuase I am 6ft tall.
