--01/24/08- i'm currently 11wks almost 12 wks pregnant..

I have a beautiful 5yr old named Doralynn Ashanti.. I was a single mom until a yr ago... i've been with this guy almost 2yrs; i've known him for a decade now.. The most wonderful guy i've known. I had been through hell w my ex, i put up w him since i was 15yrs, i wish i would of left him long time ago.. You know you get tired of putting up w the bulls**t. Now i have a very beautiful family..:)

--02/10/08--14wks now!!

--03/25/08--- 20wks now! I found out today i'm having a GIRL!

I thought i was a luckiest women since beginning of pregnancy to the last week of labor...well, may be that was what i have to pay back...hehheheh. My baby sleeps mostly 2-3 hours....and i have my husband takes care of him at night...i'm breasfeeding but i pump out .....are you breasfeeding?

Sorry that i just now replied!! yes my doctor said he would induce me if my cervix is ready but it wasn't and i am still pregnant, 39 weeks and counting :( but tomorrow is my appointment and he said if i dilate or change he'll induce me either tomorrow or sometime this week!!! good luck with your pregnancy!!

Hopefully you will go into labor before then! This waiting game is the worst part. I have been 50% effaced and 3cm dilated since the 8th.. DRIVING ME CRAZY! i was just there yesterday.. still no change. I am wonderinf if I will ever have this kid?!!

I know I havent even gained any weight in the past 2 months and he is still big. I just hope my baby isnt past the 8lb mark lol. I want a small baby. When Im 33wks they are gonna be seeing me every week so they can check on how big he is. If he is getting too big then they are planning to induce me. Not sure how early though. Oh ya so did you have her name?

Idk I had my kids a week before due date. I hope its like that for this one too. I dont want to be over due or anything. So you been having m/s since the whole time? I had it only in the first trimester but it wasnt everyday though. I think its starting to come back. For the past 3 days I been waking up feeling nauseated. Ugh! Let me know when you have your baby, maybe I can go visit you two. Girl guess what I had an ultrasound this morning and they said my baby is 3lbs 5oz. You think thats alot for 29wks?? I do. She said hes just alil above average but hes not too big. Im like yeah right! Well take care!

I read your post on week 35 about the cramping..I have been having that for two days now. Maybe it just means we are getting close. This is my 2nd child but my 1st was 13 years ago. I went for a non-stress on Monday at the hospital since my doctor is on vacation and I had two contractions within 30 minutes but I didn't feel them but they registered on the machine. I can't wait to see my baby girl. BEST WISHES TO YOU!!!!

(i found this GREAT answer to your question on Ivillage, I just wanted it to be as accurate as possible)

A thinning cervix (effacing) indicates that the lower part of the uterus is preparing for birth. It stretches out and facilitates the dilatation process. Cervical effacement, although it is a very subjective assessment, can be determined by your doctor during an internal examination. It is usually measured in percentages or fractions, such as 25 percent, 50 percent, 75 percent or completely effaced (tissue paper thin) at 100 percent.

Because a thin cervix dilates more easily, it is best to start labour with effacement already completed or nearly so. Primigravidas (first time mothers) usually start this process during the last month. Any practice contractions you have been experiencing do this. Much of early labour is spent effacing before the active dilatation of the cervix begins in earnest.

I'm not sure what to do. I fell on my butt, not my belly, I caught a good amount of the shock with my left hand, and the baby is moving around a lot. I have no pain anywhere. I JUST went in for monitoring a week ago because I got hit in my belly, and he was fine. This is just my butt, and my brother-in-law, a doctor, said not to worry.
