Here I am, 39 and pregnant - again. I suffered a miscarriage in December. This will be my first (and only) child if all goes well. I've had a lot of cramping, which I also had in my last pregnancy and it scares me a lot. After reading this site, though, I don't feel so bad and it is much more common than I thought. I'm hoping and looking forward to a happy, healthy, and successful pregnancy term.

March 30

At the end of week 9. Feeling fine, just kinda tired. I get pains in my lower abdomen. I hope that it's my uterus accomodating a growing baby. My tummy feels slightly hungry/nauseous once in while and that's definitely not normal for me. Still running and doing crunches. My abs hurt like heck when I get up from doing crunches. Weird!

April 7

11 weeks today and have no symptoms aside from starting to get tired again and tender nipples. First appointment is a week from today. I'd like to think I'm lucky and hope my first appointment doesn't prove otherwise.

April 16

Had my first ultrasound on the 14th. Baby was still but there was a heartbeat. Didn't get to hear it. :-( My due date is uncertain as the doctor got two different measurements, but still the end of October.

April 25

Heard the heartbeat today! 162 beats per minute. Music to my ears. Cervix is tightly shut and all signs point to a normal pregnancy. I'm a happy camper!

May 7

Made it through a painful amnio yesterday. Luckily, the pain only lasted two seconds or so when the needle was inserted. After that, it was cake. Heartbeat was 150 beats per minute and he/she was waving at us during the ultrasound. Feeling fine. No movement yet. Still tired, but making it a point to continue exercising and building the best baby I possibly can.

May 16

Got my amnio results today. We're having a very healthy baby boy. Not the pink I was hoping for, but I love him nonetheless. I am thrilled to be a mother!

June 4

Had my 20 week ultrasound today. It was great to see him, weighing a whopping 12 ounces! 130 heart beats per minute. He didn't move much, despite all the prodding the technician did. Pregnancy is going great, even though I haven't felt him move yet. I long for that day....

June 6

I finally "got the boot" tonight. What an amazing feeling! I love my son!

July 19

26 weeks tomorrow and boy do I finally feel pregnant in every sense of the term. I'm tired, my back hurts, it's hard to bend. I feel him moving often and it makes me so incredibly happy.

Thanks for the message. You are bouncing back so nicely. I'm sure your husband is thrilled. Mine, I think, is a little worried that I'm going to be big for awhile.... thanks to all of my previously pregnant friends hanging onto their baby weight.
I've not done so bad though... I've gained 12 pounds so far at 25 weeks along so I suppose I should be able to stay right around 25 total. We'll see.....
And the buttering up daily is still going on. I have lots of faith in cocoa butter as it seems like the women on here who have used it daily have very few stretchmarks, if any.
Well~ take it easy exercising. I don't think you have much to worry about. You'll definitely be back to your pre-pregnancy body by bikini season... no problem! Until then, I'd just enjoy your little boy and exercise when he's sleeping.

I need to get to the gym and start doing some leg toning.... although it's hard to do without weights. I'm not sure what to do other than squats and lunges. I'm just hoping to get my legs toned back up a bit before Carter is here so that I can focus on my belly after he's born.
I scheduled a budoir photoshoot for next August as my motivation to get back into shape. I can't imagine stepping into lingerie in front of a camera and not feeling good about my body. That will give me 6 months to get things back to order.... I think it's definitely do-able. My husband's birthday is in September so it will be a birthday gift for him.
How's Maddox? Are you able to get much sleep? I just love your profile picture... he's adorable. I can't wait to meet my little boy! Only 14 more weeks!

Hey sweetie, any news yet? I am at the same point you were now... 7 days overdue, aaakkk!!

At the very latest, it's good to know we will be parents by Friday after getting induced, but I really hope we don't have to go there.

I will! That's wonderful! yep.... at 6 days overdue, you might have a chubby baby on your hands.
Our little guy is so big already that the doc has already promised to induce me on my due date if he isn't here yet.... and I'm still 16 weeks away!
He was measuring 6 ounces ahead of schedule at the last ultrasound! My husband was nearly 10 pounds so it was to be expected.

I haven't had any mucus. Maybe that means your are dilating a little. Gosh I look at my belly and it seems huge..I get scared about pushing. I feel like I've never done this before because it's been 9 years. I'm hoping that this gel they put on my cervix will start labor..and I won't need pitocin :) They say sometimes that's all your body needs a little jumpstart! Yeah...I still have 24 hours before they start the induction! I had episiotomies with alex and rose...it wasn't that bad. I couldn't sleep last night, started thinking about all the things I had to do and take care of by tomorrow!
did they say how much maddox weighs? xoxox

me too...bummed that labor isn't happening on its own! I'm scared to be induced....it's more painful :( Dr. said I could have an epidural when I'm "in labor". I woke up in the middle of the night....all these things I need to do before sunday night. I'm really worried she'll be big too! I talked to one of the L& D nurses on halloween (she's a friend of a friend) she just had a baby 6 weeks ago..by induction and she got an episiotomy and tore badly on top of it with an 8 lb baby. I'm just getting worried now ;) I need to relax! Sienna has slowed down her movements which scares me too...dr. told me to watch out for decreased movements...I guess after 40 weeks..you have to be aware of that. hang in there :) Hopefully you'll have Maddox in the next few days!

Breastfeeding is still pretty demanding. She likes to stay awake all night and when she's awake she thinks she needs to eat. I hear from others that everything improves at 4 weeks. I sure hope so! I'm sure it will all happen quick for you - it's just not knowing when - it's frustrating. It is really exciting seeing what they look like and everyday they seem to change a little more.

No dilation...no nothing :) so I am scheduled to go to hospital sunday at midnight to start induction!!! i'm scared and excited! i really wanted sienna to come when she was ready....but worried she'll be too big! She was already 6.5 lbs 10/10 on U/S...so 1/2 lb. gain/week means she's at around 8 lbs now. What about you...plans for induction at a certain point? happy halloween...doesn't really feel like halloween!
