Here I am, 39 and pregnant - again. I suffered a miscarriage in December. This will be my first (and only) child if all goes well. I've had a lot of cramping, which I also had in my last pregnancy and it scares me a lot. After reading this site, though, I don't feel so bad and it is much more common than I thought. I'm hoping and looking forward to a happy, healthy, and successful pregnancy term.

March 30

At the end of week 9. Feeling fine, just kinda tired. I get pains in my lower abdomen. I hope that it's my uterus accomodating a growing baby. My tummy feels slightly hungry/nauseous once in while and that's definitely not normal for me. Still running and doing crunches. My abs hurt like heck when I get up from doing crunches. Weird!

April 7

11 weeks today and have no symptoms aside from starting to get tired again and tender nipples. First appointment is a week from today. I'd like to think I'm lucky and hope my first appointment doesn't prove otherwise.

April 16

Had my first ultrasound on the 14th. Baby was still but there was a heartbeat. Didn't get to hear it. :-( My due date is uncertain as the doctor got two different measurements, but still the end of October.

April 25

Heard the heartbeat today! 162 beats per minute. Music to my ears. Cervix is tightly shut and all signs point to a normal pregnancy. I'm a happy camper!

May 7

Made it through a painful amnio yesterday. Luckily, the pain only lasted two seconds or so when the needle was inserted. After that, it was cake. Heartbeat was 150 beats per minute and he/she was waving at us during the ultrasound. Feeling fine. No movement yet. Still tired, but making it a point to continue exercising and building the best baby I possibly can.

May 16

Got my amnio results today. We're having a very healthy baby boy. Not the pink I was hoping for, but I love him nonetheless. I am thrilled to be a mother!

June 4

Had my 20 week ultrasound today. It was great to see him, weighing a whopping 12 ounces! 130 heart beats per minute. He didn't move much, despite all the prodding the technician did. Pregnancy is going great, even though I haven't felt him move yet. I long for that day....

June 6

I finally "got the boot" tonight. What an amazing feeling! I love my son!

July 19

26 weeks tomorrow and boy do I finally feel pregnant in every sense of the term. I'm tired, my back hurts, it's hard to bend. I feel him moving often and it makes me so incredibly happy.

Yeah, I like names that are a little more unique too. I like Troy and I think that would sound fine with Allen, but is really hard to decide. It feels so funny when they move all over the place. Some days it does get a little tiring with all the movement going on though. This morning I was putting my socks on and when I bent over, I hurt myself. It almost felt like I bruised the uterus or something. It kind of concerned me but I did start to feel the baby move about an hour after I did that so I know she's okay!

oh, that sounds yucky! You too haven't had much sleep huh? Were you able to take any pain or sleeping meds? I never had my tonsils out, oh it just looks too painful. I remember when my mom had her eyes (upper/lower) done and neck lift a few years ago...and I took care of her. It's a good week or two before you look decent. Feel better. While I was at the hospital I was thinking about the day we'll be there to deliver...hoping it'll come sooner. I'm anxious for pregnancy to be over...not good being patient. Not that I don't love this little girl with all my heart ;)

preggalicious09 - Friday, 18 July
Just wanted to say that you have a gorgeous body and beautiful pregnant belly!! This is how I always wanted to look when I got pregnant. Of course with my first it was a girl and I blew up..lol. You are in great shape!!

stacy5175 - Thursday, 17 July
We didn't sleep much last night, my daughter slept with us...tossed and turned all night. Gosh, we are both really nervous, I'm trying not to act like I am....don't want to her feel my nervous vibes..but it's hard. She got tonsilitis 6x in 6 months, and she is allergic to the main antibiotic to treat tonsilitis. Swelling gone down a lot now? What has your fundus measurements been? At 20 weeks, mine was 19....at 23 weeks it was 22. He said that was good, as long as you are a few cm + or -

Love78 - Thursday, 17 July
We actually talked about boys names last night. He has been wanting to name a boy David Michael which is after our fathers. I told him I'd rather have Michael David just because David is his dad's name and I don't want there being two Davids with the same last name. He was okay with that, so it is nice to know we've made some decisions. At least you have the middle name down so you only have to come up with the first. We talked about the names Christan or even doing an Aaron Jr, but that would mean there would be 3 in the house hold with the name Erin/Aaron and that could get confusing. What boys names are you liking?

stacy5175 - Wednesday, 16 July
You'll be all healed up in a few weeks :) Yeah, I walk an hour/day...my son has cross country practice everyday, so I walk...it's really hilly here so it's a good workout...sometimes I do the eliptical machine at home for an hour. I really need to work on my arms, I just don't feel like it. I scheduled my first laser in Nov. for Fraxel...it's a 3 hours ordeal with the numbing cream and all so I'll have to get a babysitter. I'm not sure how my son will be, if he'll be comfortable babysitting the baby when it's so little. My daughter is having her tonsils removed tomorrow...so I'm a little nervous.

jessla - Wednesday, 16 July
You have a great body! Congrats on your pregnancy. :)

shocked - Wednesday, 16 July
OK, I'm a little freaked! I think our scale is correct and if so (I can double check at Dr. on Thursday), I've gained 6 lbs. in one week?????!!!!!!!!! CRAP!

There you go with new pictures and a cute little bikini again - you are so brave!

Love78 - Wednesday, 16 July
I need to start taking my pictures before I eat dinner at night. Most of them have been taken after a meal so the top part of my stomach is sticking out too which looks kind of funny. I guess my stomach has nowhere else to go though. I can only imagine how it will be in a few months. I feel bad when I bend too, because it will hurt me so I know it has to be hurting her. Well, we'll probably end up going with Morrigan Alexandra. It is a different spelling that we both seem to agree on anyway and there are no porn stars with that name (he cannot seem to get over that). We need to come up with a boys name too in case they were wrong though. Have you thought anymore about names?

stacy5175 - Tuesday, 15 July
ah, thanks :) Barry makes little comments jokingly, about my pregnancy figure now (reindeer butt)....and sometimes I laugh too..but sometimes it gets to me. I don't like how our body changes so much! Oh, wow upper bleph...you were awake then? I used to work for a plastic surgeon, I miss the perks! Did they use laser or good old fashioned scalpel? The first thing I want to do after I deliver is get Fraxel laser on my face/neck/chest. I'm fair skinned, and have sun spots/damage & fine lines around my eyes from living in Hawaii....You have to get like 4 treatments...I can't wait. They say you can't be pregnant when you have laser. I've been wanting to do this for several years. My gift to myself after baby! I just didn't like the poop smell in the delivery room :)

Love78 - Tuesday, 15 July
I cannot tell you've gained at all from your pics. You still look fantastic. I can tell by my arms, thighs and butt that I've gained weight. I think I'm up about 12 lbs from my first appt. A few of my size small maternity pants are not comfortable anymore either. I have to make frequent trips to the bathroom also. I think today I was going nearly every hour. It is typical for me to get up anywhere from 1-3 times a night to go as well. Sometimes, I have a stuffy nose too which I read can be associated with pregnancy. I'm constantly blowing my nose it seems! I've been okay on my energy lately, but I have a feeling that won't last long. I'm finding it harder and harder to bend to do anything. I have a feeling that soon my husband will have to take on some of my normal activities around the house to help me out.

stacy5175 - Monday, 14 July
You are all baby, girl....look great :) I know it seems scary, the epidual shot and all...but when you are in labor...you can't even feel it! It's welcome relief, so you don't even think about the needle and couldn't feel pain, only a little pressure. It's great though, I just layed there until they told me to push. I have great memories of labor no pain at all. Except, I did have a BM (pooped) when I was pushing with the last labor, I know it happens to a lot of women..and they say it's normal/natural..but it's still gross.

newgirl - Monday, 14 July
Even though our boobs leak apparently not all babies take to the boob?? I have no idea why. I have already bought bottles for in between breast feeding because apparently if your baby is really hungry you have to do both. I hope he wants to suck on these bottles because they were not cheap! We have similar travel systems to the USA. By the way, I was at the gym this evening and a girl was working out who was stick thin, no fat with a short sports top on. Here I am sitting on the bike with my fat arms, ass and thighs.. She probably had not eaten all day. I was dreaming about the doughnuts filled with jam that I wish I could eat.

shocked - Monday, 14 July
My husband tells me the same thing - that from a straight front view, you can't really tell I'm pregnant... and of course that changes when I turn to the side!

You crochet? - wow, you're even artsy!!! Have you made anything for the baby yet?

I'm not looking forward to the 3 hr. on Thursday. Both times I've taken it, I feel pretty crappy during, kind of nauseous and light-headed. I'll take a book and maybe I'll get lucky and not have to stay the last hour, depending on the results.

Are you ready for this baby yet? I'm SOOO not. I figured that when the girls go back to school on 8/11 (isn't that crazy early?) that will give me 6 weeks to really get everything together. Hopefully the baby won't come early. Although if I end up having diabetes again, I may move up the c-section by a week anyways.

Doesn't it feel like time is going way more quickly?

newgirl - Sunday, 13 July
Yeah I dont want to buy things that I dont need. I have seen a couple of buggies that I like but I am not sure yet. Alot of the time people buy baby things that just lie around unused. I am also getting a sore back. Especially if I eat too much then I cannot get comfy. I sleep with a pillow between my legs so my belly is propped up. I have been waking up at 4am every morning lately for a pee and then cannot go back to sleep properly. Im really tired today. Wish I could have a nice big glass of red wine

stacy5175 - Sunday, 13 July
Yeah, I know what you mean...about the layer of fat on your arms...it jiggles! I ate like a PIG yesterday...I have been craving bad things like sweets/turnovers...so I ate one last night, and pudding. They gave me the orange drink, so I'll see how that tastes. I have my shower Aug. 2, my sister is throwing for me..so I hope to get a lot of stuff then. I didn't want one, but my sister insisted :) The first delivery they induced me, labor wasn't progressing, OUCH that hurts...all of the sudden you are in serious pain...so I got an epidural. With my 2nd, I got an epidural right away, and delivered in less than 4 hours....so easy!!! So, yes going for the epidural...why be in pain? All the stuff I learned in the class went out the window! It's been really humid here....yuck!

newgirl - Sunday, 13 July
I forgot to ask you, what travel system/pushchair are you going to buy?

stacy5175 - Saturday, 12 July
oh, tell me about it...my son teases me about my arms (teenager!) they are flabby. Just the other day I was laughing at my rear view in the mirror, I said to my hubby "look at this...BACK FAT!" I don't remember feeling this flabby with my other two pregnancies..I wonder if it's something that increases with each pregnancy! I started doing using dumbbells to workout my arms. What do you do? I know I can't believe we have 3 more months....I wish we'd only get this big, hah! I take my glucose test in 2 weeks, was that yucky? I also have that FULL BLADDER ultrasound in 3 weeks, have you done that? Is the air really smoky up there from the fires? I bought a changing table the other day, my only big purchase...I felt like I needed to get something! Are you going for the natural birth or epidural?

stacy5175 - Saturday, 12 July
you look soooo good! Don't worry about the weight gain, maybe your body needed it. I too gained 5-6 lbs in ONE month (this past month)!!! How weird huh? I felt like a pig at first, but then when I went to the dr. and he told me I was perfect at a 15 lb weight gain, it made me feel better. So far you've gained how much weight? I wish I looked as good as you, seriously :) Some thing I read said this was a big month or two for weight gain for most people.

Love78 - Friday, 11 July
I'm worried about my belly too. No other woman in my family got stretch marks there during pregnancy so I'm hoping I don't too! My cousin has a super flat stomach and she even had a c-section with her son, so I'm pretty sure there is nothing to worry about. We just have these few more months to get through. I've been doing better at staying on my left side. I sleep with a down pillow under my belly and rib cage though. It helps me not roll. There has been a few nights where I've had to sleep on our reclining couch because my neck hurt me from sleeping on my side. I don't know if that was the best thing to do but I didn't seem to have any back pain or anything in the morning.

Love78 - Thursday, 10 July
I cannot tell from your pictures that you are swollen at all. You still look really tone and fit! I know what you mean about feeling fat. I do also. The thing that is bothering me the most, is that I can see my stretch marks I got as a kid on my legs again. I don't know it if is from extra weight or what. They are not new ones, but they have been nearly undetectable for years until now. It is hard to let go, but really we've not gained weight much at all. My cousin ended up gaining over 50 lbs with her pregnancy but she ended up loosing all the weight and looks great now. I don't think either of us are on track for gaining 50 lbs and I'm sure we'll loose what weight we do put on fast!...Yeah, the baby is moving more and more each day. There was one day when I was at work and she was moving so much it was almost upsetting my stomach. That happened the other night too. Do you ever get that feeling?

Love78 - Thursday, 10 July
Still looking great! I see what you mean about everything moving up. I don't know about you, but I'm finding it harder to bend each day. I tried to put long socks on the other day and found that rather challenging. I can only imagine how it will be in a few months!
