Here I am, 39 and pregnant - again. I suffered a miscarriage in December. This will be my first (and only) child if all goes well. I've had a lot of cramping, which I also had in my last pregnancy and it scares me a lot. After reading this site, though, I don't feel so bad and it is much more common than I thought. I'm hoping and looking forward to a happy, healthy, and successful pregnancy term.

March 30

At the end of week 9. Feeling fine, just kinda tired. I get pains in my lower abdomen. I hope that it's my uterus accomodating a growing baby. My tummy feels slightly hungry/nauseous once in while and that's definitely not normal for me. Still running and doing crunches. My abs hurt like heck when I get up from doing crunches. Weird!

April 7

11 weeks today and have no symptoms aside from starting to get tired again and tender nipples. First appointment is a week from today. I'd like to think I'm lucky and hope my first appointment doesn't prove otherwise.

April 16

Had my first ultrasound on the 14th. Baby was still but there was a heartbeat. Didn't get to hear it. :-( My due date is uncertain as the doctor got two different measurements, but still the end of October.

April 25

Heard the heartbeat today! 162 beats per minute. Music to my ears. Cervix is tightly shut and all signs point to a normal pregnancy. I'm a happy camper!

May 7

Made it through a painful amnio yesterday. Luckily, the pain only lasted two seconds or so when the needle was inserted. After that, it was cake. Heartbeat was 150 beats per minute and he/she was waving at us during the ultrasound. Feeling fine. No movement yet. Still tired, but making it a point to continue exercising and building the best baby I possibly can.

May 16

Got my amnio results today. We're having a very healthy baby boy. Not the pink I was hoping for, but I love him nonetheless. I am thrilled to be a mother!

June 4

Had my 20 week ultrasound today. It was great to see him, weighing a whopping 12 ounces! 130 heart beats per minute. He didn't move much, despite all the prodding the technician did. Pregnancy is going great, even though I haven't felt him move yet. I long for that day....

June 6

I finally "got the boot" tonight. What an amazing feeling! I love my son!

July 19

26 weeks tomorrow and boy do I finally feel pregnant in every sense of the term. I'm tired, my back hurts, it's hard to bend. I feel him moving often and it makes me so incredibly happy.

Hello, I found your pics looking at the belly, and I thought you looked great. It seems like you go to the gym, and you look good. I started swimming a little and stop the others activities I was doing. Do you think you could tell me what exercice do you do at the gym?
Thanks ! :)

newgirl - Wednesday, 9 July
How are you doing? Are you still exercising? I am finding it a bit more difficult everytime and only go to gym twice a week and either walk on an incline or I do some weights-squats lunges etc.

I'm 5'6"...how about you? Maybe because my son was 6 lbs? He just said because I was "tiny" to start with, he wanted me to gain 30 lbs. I never considered myself "tiny" I consider myself med. build. I wonder why you swelled up so much, maybe just being on vacation..different routine and different foods/etc. Did the ear tattoo hurt? I have a heart with rosebuds/vines down yonder...and my lower back a sun/moon. I'd like another, but my daughter said I have enough :) I really can't remember my exact day of my last period...it was somewhere in between 1/20 and 1/24. Originally my due date was 10/31, then based on her size they moved me to 10/27. Like your new photo! Still jogging? Do you feel braxton hicks contractions? I get them every other hour or so.

 Such a great pic!!!

stacy5175 - Tuesday, 8 July
thanks :) I ate all weekend...now have gained 15 lbs..went to the dr. today and he said perfect weight gain...wants me to gain a total of 30 lbs. I was hoping for 25 lbs..but oh well...whatever is best for baby. Your feet are swollen? If they don't go down by tomorrow am, call your dr. Maybe it was all the junk food/lots of salt? What are your other tats of? I hope my new one doesn't stretch...we'll see.

shocked - Monday, 7 July
As far as movement, I don't have that crazy kicking all the time that some women talk about. But several different times a day, usually first thing in the morning (sometimes when I'm still in bed) and in the evening when I'm sitting on the couch and once or twice during the day, I'll just feel him moving around. Sometimes it feels really weird and then I'll see one side of my stomach stick up a little further - I think it's his back/butt pushing. It does feel like little kicks sometimes but he's usually facing backwards and it feels like he's kicking back into my body. I'll feel him anywhere from 3-4 to 9-10 times per "session". As far as anything to compare it to, don't feel alone, I've forgotten my other two at this point anyways! Although I think this little boy is far less active than my girls were, but it's hard to remember back that far.

I love your question - "is there potential for you to be shocked once more?" My husband and I are both practicing Catholics, so I guess there is that possibility. We will certainly be A LOT more careful now that we know it can happen. I don't think either one of us really wants to have more after this.

Is it starting to seem more real to you yet? Have you bought anything?

Love78 - Friday, 4 July
I thought I was suppose to go once a month until 36 weeks, but apparently I have every two weekers starting next month before I get to the once a week. I guess I missed them saying that in the beginning. As far as classes go, there are classes offered through my hospital/doctor's office - childbirth classes. There is one called Prepared Childbirth which covers just about everything and others just on infant feeding, Infant/child CPR, or a tour of the hospital, etc. I'm only thinking about taking one because I don't want to seem like a clueless mom. My husband's been through this before - his sister and brother are 12 and 15 years younger than him and his daughter 11 years old currently! I never really babysat as a kid and I am an only child. Honestly, I've only held two babies my entire life and only for a short period of time, so I guess I want to get more comfortable with babies and feel like I know what to do.

Love78 - Thursday, 3 July
I haven't tried doing any push ups in awhile. I've just been doing various weights at the gym a few times a week. Those Peg Perego strollers look pretty nice. I don't think I've ever heard of those before. The doctor's appt went okay. They are going to do glucose testing next time with me. I don't go back until Aug. 1st though, then I have appts every 2 weeks! I cannot believe we are getting that close. Have you or are you going to sign up for any classes?

oh, that's right...I knew that name sounded like someone "famous" :) I can't believe your dad, that's crossing the line big time! It's like "get over it, not changing the name". After my daughter was born we named her Rose Marie...and my mother in law wanted us TO CHANGE HER NAME to Emily Rose (her mother's name is Emily) I couldn't believe she had the nerve to ask us to change her name after she was born! She got over it! At my 20 wk apt. my dr. said I should be at the half point mark in weight gain 12-17 lb. Some people say the last month you don't gain weight...you are sooo big and uncomfortable...hard to eat etc. What are you doing for the 4th? We are hanging out here, going to the beach to watch the fireworks. You guys live in Venice? I went to Culver City High School. My dad lives in S.M. on Ocean....fun area.

stacy5175 - Thursday, 3 July
wow, great photo....my hubby liked it...he happened to be walking by when I was looking at your photo. I will take a photo tonight of my belly :P I've been walking/hiking for an hour/day, sometimes I have to slow down because I feel pressure down low. Do you ever feel pressure down low when you jog/walk? I get so tired at night, after dinner...it's bed and TV time!

stacy5175 - Thursday, 3 July
I like the name, flows very nicely. Me too....stopped telling people her name Sienna Nicole Becker. We were at dinner with family, and one of my cousins was going on and on as to why I shouldn't name her Sienna...she told me a few names she thought I should name her instead. I was pissed and annoyed! My son wanted a boy soooooo bad, but my daughter is thrilled we are having a girl. How much weight have you gained if you don't mind me asking? I gained 5 lbs this last month!!! At my 20 week apt. I gained 9 lbs. and my dr. said she wanted me to gain more weight than that. So, I ate a lot more than usual. My daughter was 7 lbs and son 6 lbs..and I gained 25 lbs with each pregnancy. My goal is 25 lbs. by 40 weeks.

Love78 - Thursday, 3 July
That's pretty cool about the flashlight. I should try that! I'm not looking forward to cutting back my work outs or slowing them down. I have started to already though. I have another doctor's appt tomorrow. As far as I know they are just checking the heartbeat and measuring the uterus. Did you get a chance to go out and look for strollers yet?

stacy5175 - Wednesday, 2 July
hi!
Good to hear from you! This pregnancy is pretty much the same as my other two, the only difference is my boobs are way bigger since I didn't have implants with the other pregnancies. Are you still running? You should be a bathing suit model :) Thanks for the compliment on my family! I'll take a photo of my belly on post it, for some reason I'm not into my belly as much this time. I have photos of my belly with the other two pregnancies though.
Any names yet?

Love78 - Wednesday, 2 July
I feel her move pretty much every day. Usually it is when there are loud noises or when a lot of people are talking. Is your baby moving much? I've noticed this week my energy level dropping. How's your energy level this week?

newgirl - Tuesday, 1 July
Yes they have. Im a b cup usually (I know small) and I am now a C nearly on D! I wish they would stay like that but I know they wont

newgirl - Tuesday, 1 July
The most emharrassing thing happened! I was seeing a client and while there by boobs leaked onto my top!! I had two rings around my boobs. I jsut wanted to dive into a hole!

shocked - Tuesday, 1 July
Boy are you good at always updating your pics! I had such a hard time getting my original ones on there, I don't know if they'll ever be changed!

Glad to hear your glucose results were good at the 3 hour. I know that really sucks (I had gestational diabetes with my 2nd).

I'm starting to feel kind of bigger all of a sudden, getting just a little tough to get up off the floor, etc. I have my next check-up and glucose test a week from today, can't say I'm looking forward to it.

Are you feeling that little boy moving a lot?

stacy5175 - Monday, 30 June
you look so good! little belly :) How are you feeling? Can you believe we are more than half way there....time is flying fast now.

newgirl - Sunday, 29 June
He moves all the time! When I am listening to music he moves even more. He is usually quiet in the morning when I wake up but awake during the night and day. My mother says that after you give birth you miss that movement. I hope he sleeps when he is born!

Love78 - Friday, 27 June
Great news! I'm so happy to hear that everything is okay! Wow, 44 weeks is a really long time! How much did her baby weigh when born? I have changed my mind several times on which stroller exactly. I know I want a jogger with a parent tray, child tray, front wheel that swivels but also locks (because our neighborhood is basically a big circle and everyone I've seen jogging has to tilt their regular jogging stroller back to turn), and under storage. I've looked at a few in town, but haven't been real impressed. I've seen more selection online. Right now, I'm registered for this: InStep Suburban Safari Single Stroller - Red/ Gray, but I don't know if I'll stick with that because it might be nice to have a hand break too.

Love78 - Thursday, 26 June
If it was warm again today, it could be the heat getting to you also. I had to go to the gym today because it was in the 90's and really humid. I knew I wouldn't be able to stand it. I was thinking the same thing about the rules yesterday too. I also keep rolling onto my back and right side. It is too hard to stay in one position like that all night long. I cannot believe we are almost at 6 months! Have you found out the results from your glucose test yet?

Love78 - Wednesday, 25 June
Still looking great! It seems like this week and week 20 we both had a lot of change in our bellies by the look of our pics. It will be interesting to see our pics a few weeks from now!

Love78 - Wednesday, 25 June
Yeah, I really want to pick the name! I was going to run when I got home from work today, but it was raining really hard. That's okay though, because I'm about due for a break day anyway. I think it is suppose to potentially rain the rest of the week too, so I'll probably go to the gym over the next few days. My stamina has still been good. I've noticed my heart rate increase these past few weeks though so I've had to slow it down a little since I'm not suppose to go over 150 bpm. I'm still doing the normal distance though. How's your stamina been?

newgirl - Tuesday, 24 June
Oh good! Maybe you will breast feed after all!
