Here I am, 39 and pregnant - again. I suffered a miscarriage in December. This will be my first (and only) child if all goes well. I've had a lot of cramping, which I also had in my last pregnancy and it scares me a lot. After reading this site, though, I don't feel so bad and it is much more common than I thought. I'm hoping and looking forward to a happy, healthy, and successful pregnancy term.

March 30

At the end of week 9. Feeling fine, just kinda tired. I get pains in my lower abdomen. I hope that it's my uterus accomodating a growing baby. My tummy feels slightly hungry/nauseous once in while and that's definitely not normal for me. Still running and doing crunches. My abs hurt like heck when I get up from doing crunches. Weird!

April 7

11 weeks today and have no symptoms aside from starting to get tired again and tender nipples. First appointment is a week from today. I'd like to think I'm lucky and hope my first appointment doesn't prove otherwise.

April 16

Had my first ultrasound on the 14th. Baby was still but there was a heartbeat. Didn't get to hear it. :-( My due date is uncertain as the doctor got two different measurements, but still the end of October.

April 25

Heard the heartbeat today! 162 beats per minute. Music to my ears. Cervix is tightly shut and all signs point to a normal pregnancy. I'm a happy camper!

May 7

Made it through a painful amnio yesterday. Luckily, the pain only lasted two seconds or so when the needle was inserted. After that, it was cake. Heartbeat was 150 beats per minute and he/she was waving at us during the ultrasound. Feeling fine. No movement yet. Still tired, but making it a point to continue exercising and building the best baby I possibly can.

May 16

Got my amnio results today. We're having a very healthy baby boy. Not the pink I was hoping for, but I love him nonetheless. I am thrilled to be a mother!

June 4

Had my 20 week ultrasound today. It was great to see him, weighing a whopping 12 ounces! 130 heart beats per minute. He didn't move much, despite all the prodding the technician did. Pregnancy is going great, even though I haven't felt him move yet. I long for that day....

June 6

I finally "got the boot" tonight. What an amazing feeling! I love my son!

July 19

26 weeks tomorrow and boy do I finally feel pregnant in every sense of the term. I'm tired, my back hurts, it's hard to bend. I feel him moving often and it makes me so incredibly happy.

love the photo!!!! How did your eyes heal up? Looks great to me ;) Oh, I'm soooo done...I feel like crap, my right hip hurts so bad! I didn't get this with my other two...but they say with each pregnancy things loosen and stretch more each time. Rest doesn't even help, I wake up first thing in the morning hurting ;( sorry need to vent. I want to start walking again, but it hurts too much. wow no BH? some women I know would get them, but just not feel it! so maybe you just aren't feeling them? I get excited now when I get a lot...hoping it's the real thing!

wow, you look good girl!!!! I can't WAIT to put on a sexy little jean outfit...go out to sushi with my hubby!!! We are already planning our first date night out. Rose is using all the babies things (bobby/bouncer, carseat, etc.) for her dolls...changing their diapers....swaddling her. She is going to be such a wonderful big sister. She said she doesn't want to watch the baby being born, which I completely understand. I'm kind of relieved, I didn't want to scare them! Can't wait to see nursery pics! Me too, I don't want to go above 25 lbs! I went to my dr. friday, nothing exciting....he said in two weeks he'll do the ultrasound and internal exam. My BH are getting pretty strong. My hips are really hurting me, when I walk! I walk like I've been riding a horse for years! Can't believe we are so close. I'm ready for the baby, my house is full of baby toys/strollers/bouncers/high chair etc. Drives me crazy because I don't like clutter, but that's ok :)

I really like your name - it sounds very strong and unique and I do not think off-the-wall at all. I've heard Maddox several times lately, so I'm sure you'll be one of the first and 5 years from now, that name will be in the top 10.

I can't believe I only have 3 days left and I have so much to do before being "out of commission" for awhile. Got a little nervous earlier today at my daughter's soccer game. Stomach got really tight, almost painfully so and different from BH, but it eventually went away. Tonight the baby had a superactive period where it was really hurting but I got up and walked around and thank goodness he settled down. I don't want to go early at this point - tomorrow is Tom's birthday and I'd like to enjoy that first. My dear husband is going to be 46! I just can't believe that! Not to mention just being able to wrap my head around the thought of a newborn - it still seems so surreal!

Sounds like you are doing well and getting ready. It won't be long now. I think the last 2 weeks has gone REALLY quickly, so enjoy it! I will post again as soon as I can!!!

How was your shower? Did you get lots of great stuff?

I know what you mean about a great pregnancy - for the most part, it's been my best one yet. I was at the Dr. on Thursday and everything is still boringly normal. I did gain 2 lbs., so that puts me at 22 so far. I'm really happy with that and hope it all comes off quickly. Breastfeeding really speeds up that process!

We have about 5 names we all really like, but I told my husband that this will be his one & only son (I think?) so he can name him. We will wait until he's born to see what he looks like. We did that with both our girls and the first one, Sarah, her name wasn't even on our list and we'd never talked about it. 2nd one was supposed to be Anna but she just didn't look like it - she was feisty, so Lindsey seemed to fit her better. Who knows what this one will turn out to be?! That's our big surprise.

I don't feel very fit either. I've still be exercising at the gym. I attempt to run but it is at a pace I would normally walk at. I'm only doing that once a week because it just doesn't seem that worth it. Otherwise, I do the elliptical 2 times a week and weights, and then also will walk on some days or do the stair climber and stationary bike. I've defiantly slowed the workouts down from what they were. Glad to hear your shower was fun! That bracelet does sound cute. Did you end up getting a stroller? That's a really great idea with the blanket. My mother-in-law is making a cross stitch blanket for our baby. I've been on the hunt for things to decorate the nursery with. I want to get wooden letters in her name, but I'm also searching for something sea/ocean theme to hang on the wall that will go with her bedding set. I just haven't found the perfect thing yet. Have you gotten a hospital bag or anything ready yet? I plan to start doing that either this weekend or next. I just want to be prepared. I haven't felt any Braxton Hicks either. I'm about the same too except she sits so low that sometimes I'll get a lot of pressure down low and every now and then a shooting pain down the vagina. I had a few of those weird pains in the beginning though too. I now realize I feel those most when she moves around down there.

yeah, I keep hoping my water will break! I never had that before until I was in labor...then it broke. My measurements were the same as the weeks pregnant last visit. I've been holding steady at 21-22 lbs weight gain. I know it'll jump again...every few weeks it jumps a few lbs. I eat tums for the heartburn! Now I just eat them first thing in the morning. How exciting to start the nursery, what is the theme? or colors? I think I'm pretty much done...just waiting now...washed all the baby stuff. I have an apt. to get the car seat installed at the CHP. They will help you put it in, and make sure it's in there properly. You can call CHP for an apt. Maybe the baby has dropped? I went to L&D last week, I had pain everytime I walked in my behind area..they said the baby dropped, and it pressing on everything. I haven't dilated though at all. Good to hear from you :) I got a new camera, and that's why I haven't taken any new photos of my belly...just need to learn how to use it.

how are you? how is work? I'm ready....this heartburn sucks....24/7! Went to the L & D sunday, I was having a lot of pain/pressure down there...hurt to walk.....they examined me...no dilation...but the baby has dropped so that's why I've had a lof of pain/pressure. How is the new house? Nursery set up? Just thinking about ya!

How are you doing? Still moving and super busy? What are you thinking about your pregnancy so far (since this is your first)?

I'm just tired. Went to Dr. today and going every week now. Still haven't gained any weight - I hate this damn GD diet. I can't wait to eat!!! It's a good thing that your metabolism stays really high while breastfeeding because I intend to make the most of that one! Baby is measuring right on track with strong heartbeat, so everything is good.

Just a waiting game for me now. I've never gone into labor early, but I certainly wouldn't mind it now. I'm actually ready for this baby. At most, only 19 days till my c/s.

You're not far behind me - so enjoy these last few weeks. You tend to forget so much of it after the baby is born!

We haven't taken a 33 week pic yet. I had my baby shower on Sunday and we've been so busy putting things away and organizing that we just hadn't gotten around to it....I haven't felt kicking in the ribs yet either. She has moved up though....You'll have to let me know how your 4D scan goes. I haven't done a 4D scan. We probably won't either. Because of that fall I had a few months back, it is going to cost an extra $900 for that hospital bill so we won't be doing any other extras due to that...Your shower should be fun! Mine was a blast, but a lot of work. I think it pretty much drained me this week. Mine was at my parent's house, so at least I didn't have to worry about how our house looked, but I still helped a lot with decorating, preparing food, and cleaning up afterwards. We got so much stuff that we needed. I had two vehicles full of items. I think the only other thing we have to have is a mattress for the crib..everything else on the registries can wait a few months. Some of my co-workers are throwing another shower for me on the 26th too so that should be fun as well.....That is cutting it close with just getting the counters and TV installed today. You'll have to let me know how your shower goes. They are a lot of work, but very worth it in the end!

I've still felt okay. Every now and then I get really bad heartburn and backaches but I haven't really been too terribly tired. I haven't had the shower yet. It will be on Sept. 7th. I'm excited. My cousin made invites for it but I haven't seen them yet. Wouldn't you know it, some of my guest have already received theirs in the mail butI still haven't gotten mine. At least you moved now and not a month from now. Can you imagine how much harder that would even be? I've been visiting daycares this week. That is a tough decision. Some of these places are booked solid through Feb also so I don't know what we'll end up with.

yeah, I'm not one to follow dr's orders 100%...I know my body better than anybody ;) So, a small walk today...no contractions, yeah! My son started changing this year! he'll be 14 saturday...15 teenagers coming over for a swim party...oh great! He's a great kid, but you know...a typical teenager. I thought he'd be more excited about the baby...but my daughter is...she's 9!

I walked around the block yesterday :) no contractions. I just can't sit around, driving me crazy. I think I just have to do small walks.... no one hour walking. Went to my dr. yesterday, waiting 1 hour and still wasn't in a room..so I left I hate that. He's a great dr...but double books like there is no tomorrow! So they say oh...he's all booked up next week, we can squeeze you in, ugh! just have to plan 2 hours when I see him. take care ;)

what happened...no good 4D shots? Was he hiding in your placenta the whole time? or they just weren't clear...my dad asked what are those cysts on her? funny...it's the placenta ;) I saw her grimace, and open her eyes! My son is being a teenager...ugh he said "ewww...I don't want to watch a video of her she looks like an alien!" he is turning 14 and gosh...what happened to my sweet angel? girls girls and girls...on the brain!
