Hello Everyone I just turned 29 years old and have been married to my husband Carl for 4 1/2 years (it will be 5 years on June 21st). This will be our first child so we are both really excited about this new experience. We just moved here to San Antonio by way of other countries we were living in including Japan and Korea. It is good to be back in the states and even better that we will get to have our first child here. My husband is in the Air Force and I work for the University of Texas at San Antonio in the Purchasing Department. We are supposed to find out the sex of our baby on March 28, 2008 and we are due on August 15, 2008. I look forward to learning from others and getting help and advice along the journey. I welcome any advice and extra support is even better. I want to congratulate all of you who are pregnant and those who have already brought life into this world-this is truly a beautiful experience and may God Bless you all!

Update: It's a boy!!!! It became official on March 28, 2008 at 3pm that we have a little boy playing around in my stomach. My husband was extremely excited because he wanted a boy first. We are naming him Jordan Lambert he was doing everything from twirling his fingers, hiding his feet, sucking this thumb, posing for pictures, sticking his mouth out to actually playing peek a boo with himself using his left hand and left eye. It was all so surreal and so cute...I can't believe he is inside of me, reality hit then and I keep staring at my belly wondering what he is doing...we are so excited!!!

We can't wait for our little one to make his debut...our families and friends are so extremely excited. We thank God for this blessing that came along at the right time when we are both ready for a baby...We are ready to shower our baby with all of the love that God allows us to!

Hi Dani, i know what you mean about the diabetes, what a headache it all is! i have been diagnosed with it for about 5 weeks now and it is a real pain. i was not a especially unhealthy eater before i was diagnosed but now that i'm being told that i can't eat sweet things, all i want to do is eat chocolate and fatty foods. The pricking of the finger can be a pain too. I just hope it goes when the baby is born.

Yeah, it's wierd! All of a sudden last week I got parinoid that I was going to deliver early...I think the hospital tour freaked me out a bit. My hubby is like yeah I'm ready and I'm feeling things going on with my body that I did not feel when I was pregnant with John so I'm freakin out child, lol (some lower pressure) and I don't know what to expect because I was induced with John and for some reason I have felt this baby will come earlier than the scheduled C-section, I think you have rubbed off :-))) I have a doc appt on Thurs so I'll find out if all is fine in there!

If you're still looking for somewhere to get photos done, the best bet are the local colleges. Photography students don't charge much at all, they're more concerned with building up their portfolio. That's what we're probably gonna do here next month. Good luck!

Hi Dani... I took my maternity photos two weeks ago and it was awesome! The photographer was great and made me extremely conmfortable.. I am even topless in a few pics.. I am surprising my husband with them on our vacation next week. Definitely get it done if you haven't already.

hey how are you? I saw your posting in the week by week.. and was wondering how your GD is going? I failed my first test barely and they said that i have to go for the three hour test after eating alot of carbs for three days and then fasting for 8 hours.. I was just wondering if its really hard to manage? What is your diet like??

Hi Dani...Sounds like work is not being very understanding. Are your bosses approachable? If you think that they might not be very flexible in the work they give you or the hours you are working, maybe you can get a note from your doctor (sounds like elementary school!) stating that your hours or workload should be reduced for your health. I know that workplaces in Canada are required to do the best they can for injured workers, in terms of finding some modified work for them, why should be it be any different for a pregnant employee? I guess it is hard to be objective when you are in the situation, to judge whether they are asking more of you than before or if it just seems like more with being pregnant and all. I hope things look up soon!
