Hello
Everyone I just turned 29 years old and have been married to my husband
Carl for 4 1/2 years (it will be 5 years on June 21st). This will be
our first child so we are both really excited about this new
experience. We just moved here to San Antonio by way of other countries
we were living in including Japan and Korea. It is good to be back in
the states and even better that we will get to have our first child
here. My husband is in the Air Force and I work for the University of
Texas at San Antonio in the Purchasing Department. We are supposed to
find out the sex of our baby on March 28, 2008 and we are due on August
15, 2008. I look forward to learning from others and getting help and
advice along the journey. I welcome any advice and extra support is
even better. I want to congratulate all of you who are pregnant and
those who have already brought life into this world-this is truly a
beautiful experience and may God Bless you all!
Update: It's a boy!!!! It became official on March 28, 2008 at 3pm that we have a little boy playing around in my stomach. My husband was extremely excited because he wanted a boy first. We are naming him Jordan Lambert he was doing everything from twirling his fingers, hiding his feet, sucking this thumb, posing for pictures, sticking his mouth out to actually playing peek a boo with himself using his left hand and left eye. It was all so surreal and so cute...I can't believe he is inside of me, reality hit then and I keep staring at my belly wondering what he is doing...we are so excited!!!
We can't wait for our little one to make his debut...our families and friends are so extremely excited. We thank God for this blessing that came along at the right time when we are both ready for a baby...We are ready to shower our baby with all of the love that God allows us to!

mylittlesurprise - Monday, 24 Mar thank you so much for your comments...It will all be clearer tomorrow, and the hospital said that we would have results to the U/S before we leave there, so, i feel good about that...being my 4th baby, but my 5th pregnancy, makes me nervous, but, i just keep looking at my 3 perfect, beautiful girls God has given me, and just pray for another...thinking positive!!!! And to think that up until this point,my biggest concern was gaining back the 50 pounds i just worked so hard to get rid of!! Who cares at this point!!!! Just give me a healthy baby!!! Thanks again! Good luck to you too!
Sharonimo - Monday, 24 Mar Hi again; I haven't normally been a patient person either! To give you a bit of hope though, I think I have become more so since my son was born, at least in in most areas! I guess you realize you just can't go around losing your temper at every little thing or person (especially those you love most!). ABout the music, I love music myself and tried to liston to a variety when I was pregnant with Simon (my first). I know he has always responded very well to singing (calming etc) and now that he can use some sign language, will always ask for more if I start! He also loves sitting in his little couch and reading books with his music playing-so cute! So I don't know if it was the music I played for him in utero or just a natural response of young children, but it certainly can't hurt! Happy Easter and have a great week!

mothergrayer - Friday, 21 Mar Hey just checking in on ya to see how your feeling these days hope all is well.
Sharonimo - Thursday, 20 Mar Hi, Sounds like we are kind of in the same boat. My husband and I were married for 5 years (almost exactly!) before we had our son, and as I am 33 already, thought we had better get a move on with the second one! Sounds like you are also a Christian? or spiritual at least?-let me tell you having a baby is a huge eye opener into patience and grace and unselfishness! Having a shared faith with your husband is also a huge help in the stresses that are bound to happen with a new baby. I was given a CD for my first baby shower-Carolyn Arends 'the parenthood project'. Pretty mellow and folky, but that's my style and it still brings tears to my eyes! Congratulations on your first pregnancy-enjoy the ride!
TiffyW - Thursday, 20 Mar Thanks for the skin tip.. I will try it out... Try to fit the pregnancy pictures in :) Irreplacable memories for a life time.. Have a GREAT day.
1forkapababy - Wednesday, 19 Mar Dani Thanks!! Congratulations to you and your husband. Only 9 more days till you get to find out the sex, how exciting! Welcome back to the states and THANKS TO YOUR HUSBAND FOR HIS BRAVE SERVICE!! I wish you all the best and lots of love with your new member of your family.
whatwillitbe - Wednesday, 19 Mar Thanks! Good luck..and congrats to your sister! My sister graduates in May as well, but she lives 5 minutes down the road! No flying necessary. I have a feeling i'm going to be huge!! but for now its all good! but this belly is poking out!
tmac - Wednesday, 19 Mar i'm a flight attendant and flying ocasionally when you are 7 months os perfectly fine. They let us fly right up till the end if our doctor's say it's ok. I'm off flying till they find out my baby is doing good because i was having m.c's which i think may have been due to flying but i was doing up to 7 flights a day so it's a little different for me. make sure you drink tons of water and get up and walk around as much as you can. Hope this helps.
amadeus - Wednesday, 19 Mar Hi...I can understand how you feel about the whole weight gain thing...I am in my 23rd week and have gained 22lbs. It kinda suddenly piled on once morning sickness ended. The nurse also made quite an unfriendly comment about my weight gain which got me very down and upset. It is making the pregnancy a bit more stressy than necessary I'm sure. Am trying to excercise too. Was super fit before...oh well...you just hang in there and know that there is someone out there who's feeling for ya ;) hugs, AG
whatwillitbe - Wednesday, 19 Mar My aunt asked me to fly out and see her, and i said isn't that unsafe for babies..she assured me that you can fly on commercial airlines...just not small planes where the pressure gets all messed up (she said it in the correct terms but i cant rememebr exactly) but as long as you fly in a plane bigger than like 50 people i think you'll be alright..southwest airlines is a good airline and they are cheap usually during the week you can get a flight for $39 or $49 (depending where you fly into) If your around a big airport it shouldn't be too expensive especially if you book now..good luck...and congrats
TiffyW - Wednesday, 19 Mar Girl, I know EXACTLY where you are coming from my husband is 6'8 and all I have heard is WHOA! You're BIG! And I am like... I KNOW.. I see my stomach everyday.. Anyway, I thought I would let you know there's some one out there that can relate to your 'problem'.. Have a good one.. If your mother bounced back you surely will.. Have a good one.
momx3 - Tuesday, 18 Mar Congrats! I can't wait, this is the worst waiting game ever!!! Do you have any clue ? What sex do you want ?
Maria27 - Tuesday, 18 Mar Its funny how you said your husbands birth weight b/c Im kind of freaked out too. First of all I lost 75 lbs before I found out I was pregnant now Im slowing gaining again due to the pregnancy. Plus my baby daddy said he was 9 close to 10 lbs when he was born he stands 6'1 and his other child was closer to 9lbs when she was born so I plan on having a c-section.lol..I don't think my lil body can handle that big of baby. But good luck with everything and god bless..
baby-zekes-mommy - Tuesday, 18 Mar HI, I SAW YOUR COMMENT IN THE WEIGHT-GAIN FORUM AND I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM. AT MY 30 WEEK APPOINTMENT, I HAD ALREADY GAINED 32 POUNDS. TEN OF THOSE POUNDS WERE ALL IN ONE MONTH. I GO TO THE DOCTOR NEXT WEEK AND WILL BE 34 WEEKS AND PROBABLY GAINED ANOTHER 10 POUNDS, WHO KNOWS? BUT I WOULDNT WORRY AT ALL. AS LONG AS ALL THE WEIGHT ISNT FROM JUNK FOOD, YOU'RE FINE. =D
kstar08 - Tuesday, 18 Mar i kno i didnt start showin til recently so before that id forget i was pregnant sometimes n then id feel the baby roll orsomethin lol...but yeah i think if u have a girl she'll be spoiled...i kno my baby will be spoiled cuz he's the first grandson lol so this should b interesting
jacquelyn - Tuesday, 18 Mar I gained a lot at first. about 12lb in the first ten weeks. The reason doc's make a big deal at first is that you're supposed to gain 4-6lbs altogether in the first trimester and a pound a week starting at week 14/15. I figured that I gained more because a lot of women have morning sickness and lose weight in the first trimester. I was jusr repulsed by vegetables, meat and anything other than junk food basically, therefore I gained. I'm 32 weeks now and have gained about 30lb(much of that gained between thankgiving and new years) and I've started losing, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. You can lose it after the baby's born. Remember breastfeeding burns a truckload of calories a day. And if you continue to gain a pound a week, that's 40lbs total. Only 5 lbs more than recommended. Relax and enjoy the best excuse you'll ever have to be 'fat'. Good luck!
cynthetamine - Tuesday, 18 Mar You know what? Don't even listen to that broad :P Everybody is different with pregnancy. Typically you always gain the most with your first baby. You just do what you feel comfortable with. Don't bust your ass now if you don't want to! Do it after the baby. Enjoy yourself now. You are only pregnant for a short while. Doctors can be so unsympathetic sometimes because they kick into business mode and they forget that they need to stay on a personal level. I gained 50 pounds with my 1st. I dropped most of it after the baby. (took a few months) Your body will tell you what you need. Thats what cravings are for. We don't have crazy cravings for no reason! Thats our bodies way of saying what we need to keep the baby healthy. Of course if you crave a lot of sweets, you might be in trouble!!! LOL but just listen to your body. Most of those doctors don't even have kids themselves, and if they do, they are older, and you forget about all the little things. Just love yourself and the fact that you are able to carry a baby :)
kstar08 - Monday, 17 Mar cool, i been ok, just a little tired...so what are u hoping to have? i see a lot of pink on ur page, u hopin for a girl? u feel the baby move yet?
