Hello Everyone I just turned 29 years old and have been married to my husband Carl for 4 1/2 years (it will be 5 years on June 21st). This will be our first child so we are both really excited about this new experience. We just moved here to San Antonio by way of other countries we were living in including Japan and Korea. It is good to be back in the states and even better that we will get to have our first child here. My husband is in the Air Force and I work for the University of Texas at San Antonio in the Purchasing Department. We are supposed to find out the sex of our baby on March 28, 2008 and we are due on August 15, 2008. I look forward to learning from others and getting help and advice along the journey. I welcome any advice and extra support is even better. I want to congratulate all of you who are pregnant and those who have already brought life into this world-this is truly a beautiful experience and may God Bless you all!

Update: It's a boy!!!! It became official on March 28, 2008 at 3pm that we have a little boy playing around in my stomach. My husband was extremely excited because he wanted a boy first. We are naming him Jordan Lambert he was doing everything from twirling his fingers, hiding his feet, sucking this thumb, posing for pictures, sticking his mouth out to actually playing peek a boo with himself using his left hand and left eye. It was all so surreal and so cute...I can't believe he is inside of me, reality hit then and I keep staring at my belly wondering what he is doing...we are so excited!!!

We can't wait for our little one to make his debut...our families and friends are so extremely excited. We thank God for this blessing that came along at the right time when we are both ready for a baby...We are ready to shower our baby with all of the love that God allows us to!

Dani, i am so with you on this 1. i am sick and tired of pricking my finger and taking insulin. i am full of holes. my insulin has just been upped to 4 times a day. just like you i have been fed up so much that i have also been eating LOTS of junk that i shouldn't but it is so hard, especially when you are tired, heavy and had enough. I only found out today that they will offer me an induction from 38 weeks so i am being booked in on the 6th or as close as. They scanned me today and said the baby is about 7lb 3oz so it won't be that big, i'm just so fed up and massive.x

I'm sorry you have had trouble with your blood sugars! I would say not to really be worried as much about his size at this point, but just remember that if your sugars are higher, there's a higher chance that the baby will be born hypoglycemic because his pancrease is secreting excess insulin to lower the sugar coming from your blood. So, when he is born, his pancreas will continue producing that insulin at first and lower his own sugar too much. That's why they have to put babies of mother's with GD on glucose drips at birth sometimes in order to regulate their blood sugar. Just think...as soon as he is here, you can have as much cake and candy as you want :) Good luck!!!

Girl I'm actually in week 39 and 41 years old but I will still take the compliment because we all deserve much ups for going through pregnancy and remaining sane :), LOL! I pray the fabulousness carrys over into mothering this little bundle as well :)

My 17 year old son just got hired at his first job today, a grocery store cashier! Wow! How funny? He told them that the only day he can't work is nxt Friday because his brother is being born. The store manager was like you are 17 and they have another one on the way? Wow! We just laughed...

Yeah i know. Hearing them say i wont go the rest of my 5 weeks and probably 3 weeks maybe 4 weeks and theres nothing wrong to where i will really made me feel like i just skipped atleast 2 weeks of my life hahaha!!! Because i'm looking at new dates and weeks now you know? Confusing....because i dont know when he's coming, you never know at the end but im more confused now.

They do play the "mama would want me to be there card" wth hubby but he understood that I just couldn't do it girl and told them they can visit but no one can stay.

My son weighs at 6.2 pounds and i still have 5 weeks left, he's fat!!! Over weight LOL.....i'll be 35 weeks pregnant in 2 days and he's the size of 36 weeks. He has a fat face, and he is so adorable and the cutiest lips ever.....and he loves to suck his lips because he was doing it while we were watching him. Big feet, and they said if i go 5 more weeks he'll be 8 pounds.....but they said i wont make it 5 weeks, he said he'll give it 3 weeks maybe 4 weeks and he'll be 7 in a half pounds, the said a full term baby is starting at 37 weeks, thats 2 weeks off and anything before that is premature but he is full term size and if born today he is the size of a newborn....my mouth was on the floor. I could't believe what i was hearing because i was so scared he was gonna be small, they told me next time they see me which was today he would be in between 4.5-5 pounds and he's 6 lol.....i'm like oh my....and i'm so little and he's such a hog and he has alllll the weight, not me, suprised me twice on his weight! I can not wear maternity clothes, their too big, i'm still in my little jeans and my babydoll shirts are my maternity clothes lol.....but you can tell i'm all baby and that i'm pregnant.... i'm like it's gonna be hell when this child comes i know it. Because it already is now carrying him!!! But that was a big relief, so if he came today he is the size i thought he'd be in 5 weeks.....and he's healthy, heart beat is good, and growing growing growing, and killing killing killing mommy, lol but i'd rather him be big and bigger than small. When i found out what he was 3 months ago he was a week bigger then too lol....just a hog! And shower sunday....so excited about it all!!!! Write me back...hope your doing well.

My hubby's mom pased away about 6 yeras ago but he has an older sister that believes she should take the place of his mom. I'm all for family and all but i had to let her know early on that i got this! She's coming in from out of state to visit the day before Jordan is born and was told she could not stay with us and basically threw a hissy with hubby but didn't say anything to me. (They know I have rules :)

I know what you mean... I have actually surprised myself b/c I haven't worried her... I know she is a wonderful WOMAN OF GOD, and I am not at all worried about Nhyla with her... Just missing Nhyla... I just came back on Monday and I was out for 7 weeks... I only was taking 6 to have my daughter but the week before I was due to come back to work my father died... so last week I had to plan his funeral... but GOD is sooooooooooooo great he gave me soooooooooo much strength... So do you know what you are going to name your son?

Hi Dani,

I was just wondering how they discovered that you were losing fluid to do an ultrasound in the first place? I am asking because I keep feeling really wet and I wonder if I am leaking fluid...were there any other symptoms?

Child you do not know my husband's people, lol! They know everything about raising babies and do not mind telling you how to raise yours if you let them. I already told hubby to let them know to give me a bit of space because I'm pretty high strung and at 41 with baby #2 will not exactly want to hear the advise as I'm in the hospital recovering from a c-section, LOL! He is one of 10 and all live here in wisconsin, Lord help me!
