Meredith Addison arrived on Nov. 29, 2007 via c-section weighing 7 lbs 1 oz and 20 inches long!

11-15-07

Last Friday I woke up to labor pains at 35 wks. I tried everything to make them subside (like took a shower and walked). I went to the doctor and he admited me to the hospital and he determined they were real contractions every 3 minutes apart. They stopped my labor due to I was only 35 wks. Now my C-Section is scheduled for Nov. 29 (my due date was Dec. 11) but he doesn't think that I will make it that far. (I have to have a C-Section b/c she is breech). He says that I will go into labor and then he will be able to perform the C-Section. He says he cannot schedule a C-Section prior to 38 wks due to hospital and insurance policies. I still get alot of abdominal cramps but they are random. The anticipation is absolutely killing me.

11-20-07

I am 37 wks today and went to the doctor. The US discovered that my amniotic fluid level dropped from 9.9 to 6.5. The NST was reactive and normal. I went to the hospital and had a BPP and she scored 8/8 which was great. I am getting very excited now. My C-Section is scheduled for Thur. Nov. 29. I hope everything goes okay.

11-23-07

Today I am feeling extremely run down. I don't know why or if I am getting sick but I just don't feel good. Nothing hurts or anything I just feel really weak. I hope this is normal or okay. I am getting really excited about this Thursday. I can't wait to meet my little baby girl!

11-25-07

Went to the hospital today b/c I was having mild contractions every 6 to 7 minutes. However, once I got there the contractions slowed down and become more irregular. My doctor sent me back home and said if they became more regular to come back. I am soooo tired of waiting to meet my little girl. I am also getting excited to not being huge anymore. Oh well, my C-Section is scheduled for this Thursday at 12:30. I guess I only have to wait for 4 more days.

11-26-07

I am soo tired all the time. I continually have heartburn and indegestion all the time. Everytime I eat I am misserable. I am not even that big. Oh well, I only have 3 days to go to my c-section and I am really getting excited. I hope all goes well.

Birth Story:

On 11-29-07, we went in for our scheduled c-section at 10:00 am. Everything went smoothly and the doctor done one last US to check to ensure the baby was still breech. After an hour and a half, they took me back to the surgery room. They then completed the spinal block (hardly even felt a thing) and then I was numb. Within ten minutes the surgery had begun. Within five minutes out popped my precious little girl. She put up on hell of a fight though. She held on too everything she could. The doctor had to tug, pull, and turn to get her out. Finally, when she came out she had a death grip on her umbilical cord. They then took her to clean her up, stating she weighed 7 lbs 1 oz and was 20 in long. Once they wrapped her up she stopped crying and was happy. Once they took the baby out, I became extremely nauseated and had to have medicine to keep me from throwing up. They then gave me something to calm my nerves and the next thing I know I am in the recovery room and in they brought my little girl!

However, it may seem simple, the recovery was extremely hard. I got up and was moving within a few hours and boy did it hurt. I did get to go home after 48 hours and recovered within a few days.

12-30-07

Meredith is currently 4 weeks old and is doing wonderul. She eats 4 ounces every 3 to 4 hours during the day and goes for 4 to 6 hours at night. She loves to sleep on her stomach and she loves her bouncer and glider. Her favorite time of the day is when she gets to take a bath & go bye-bye. She is able to lift and turn her head from side to side. She can role from back to front also but only on occasions & it takes her along time. We had some trouble with her formula causing her constipation but that was resolved by switching her formula to Similac Sensitive Canned Concentrate instead of using the powdered formula.

1-9-08

Meredith is currently 5 wks old. She went to the doctor today and now weighs 9 lbs 7 ozs and was 21 1/4 inches long. She has gained almost three pounds and grown 1 and 1/4 inches since she left the hospital. Last night I feed her and put her to be at 10:00 and she slept straight through the night and woke up at 5:30. I woke up a couple of times through the night and jumped up to make sure she was still breathing. I can't believe how much she is a happy baby. I cannot honestly complain. She likes to put herself to sleep, she never cries, loves her bouncer, glider, and swing, and is a joy to take out to places. She loves to look out the car window as we are traveling down the road while she listens to the music on the radio.

1-21-08

Meredith is now 7 wks old and progressing excellently. She sleeps on her stomach at all times now. She has been sleeping all night everynight since 5 1/2 wks old. She takes a bath at 9:00, eats 5 ozs at 9:30, and is asleep for the night at 10:00. She then sleeps till between 5:00 and 7:00. She doesn't like to be rocked to sleep though, she would rather you just lay her on her belly, give her her "nukki" and let her self sooth herself to sleep. She hardly ever cries. She is a good baby. Sometimes she tends to get fussy in the evening times but this is b/c she doesn't like to nap during the day. I think she is afraid she going to miss something. She usually only takes one 3 hour nap during the day. She will cat nap 15 to 20 minutes here and there but they don't really help. She loves to eat. She eats 4 to 5 ozs every 2 to 4 hours during the day. But I think she is just making up for what she doesn't eat during the night! I hope in the future my children will be as good and blessed as Meredith is.

1-28-07

Meredith is now 8 wks old. I was amazed that last night meredith slept from 830 last night till 745 this morning w/o waking at all. She didn't sleep much the day before but still this was amazing. She has been good about sleeping all night since 5 1/2 wks but never this long.
