Well, I've been a member here for months and I'm just now writing something in my profile. I've been married to my husband, Joe for two wonderful years, and this is our first child. He's a systems architect (uber-geek), and I'm a massage therapist and former registered nurse. We are having a baby boy, Michael Gregory, named after his two granddads.

We tried for about 4 months to get pregnant, and had one early miscarriage along the way. When we found out about this one, we were thrilled! I had to supplement progesterone in the first trimester to prevent another miscarriage, but I actually got to stop the supplements early when I started having hyperemesis around 7 weeks. Hyperemesis is a NIGHTMARE! The first 22 weeks of this pregnancy were horrid - hospitalizations, IV fluids and nutrition, anti-nausea medications by the handful, and 22 pounds of weight loss. I started feeling better after that, went back to work, and managed to get off the meds at 28 weeks.

At 24 weeks, I had a placental bleed. It was a mild detachment with a bunch of blood clots in the placenta. I was on bed rest for a short while, but was able to get back to work with no ill effects.

Our little guy is strong, and reassures me of that often! I love sitting back and watching my belly dance. I hate being pregnant, because I really suck at it, but I'm madly in love with this little thing in my belly. I just can't wait to meet him!

We're using cloth diapers for a host of reasons, and I'm always glad to talk with anyone about that!

I've just got to be really careful with what I'm doing and take it easy. It's getting so fustrating though, there's so much I want to do!! They didn't mention anything about my chances of making it to term, now I think about it I should have asked really. My friend had a constant slow leak of fluid from about 28 weeks and her baby came at 36 weeks, but not sure if it will have any effect on me or not. As long as there is no more fluid loss, the consultant doesn't want to see me again until 36 weeks so I'm assuming he thinks I will go all the way! I hope so!

God, I bet losing blood was alot scarier than losing water! I would have really been panicing!! Hope your feeling better now. Let's just hope we won't have to go in again any time soon!! xx

Hey I just saw your post about Babies R us. I did register there and hopefully I get receipts with the stuff. Thanks

roro73 - Monday, 21 July
Thank you for the tip on the Babies R Us registry. That is very helpful to know.

I already had a bouncer delivered to my house. At least the paper work was included.

Thanks again.

I am definitely going to look into using cloth. My husband is for it too. If it doesn't work out, we can always switch to disposable. Thanks for the info :)

I am thinking about doing cloth diapers. I need to look into it and see if it will save us much money. I don't know anyone who has used them. Are you going with cloth?

alishaB - Sunday, 13 July
Im registered at angelbunz.com and if you buy more than 12 Bum Genius they are $16.95, not a great savings but....

Im ordering 25 all together & using the disposables when out so I dont have to carry around a stinky diaper!

diapers.com also have Nature Babycare but at Target they were a bit cheaper.

Good luck & let me know!

alishaB - Saturday, 12 July
YAY! My sister ordered me a few and the just arrived, they are the cutest things ever! Ive heard a lot about g-diapers but they are kinda expensive for disposables. If you can get your hand on the Nature Babycare then you should check them out. i actually got them at Target which was a miracle. Have you heard anything about Fuzzi Bunz? I wish Fuzzi's made a 1 size :( The only worry I have with the Bum Genius is that after frequent washes the velcro probably wont stick very well. Where are you ordering yours?

alishaB - Saturday, 12 July
Im doing cloth diapers (bum genius one size & Fuzzi Bunz) and have heard nothing but praise about them. I am also going to alternate with Nature Babycare (eco friendly) disposables. Apparently they are much better than Seventh Generation! So glad you are doing cloth!!

If she moved around last night, I think she must have done a complete 360! Because now she's back where she started again! Perhaps it was those contractions that she didn't like! I've been getting those kicks tonight too! But I'm not complaining - i love it! Even if it does make me go 'Oooohhh!' xx

*babylicious* - Wednesday, 9 July
She definately came back! It was last night in bed when I started getting contractions for about an hour! They felt really weird! Then afterwards, she really started going mad, kicking all over the place and moving about!
Then I felt a big turn, and lots of pressure from the top of my bump just released! She was breech before, so I think the contractions made her move round the right way!

Thanks for your support! xx

Thanks for helping to put my mind at rest!! It's just that she was so active before and now I kind of feel disappointed that she's gone quiet! lol!

I hope she does come back with a vengance! - I love her kicking me in!! lol!

yes! we are like on the same page and it sucked bc i had NO ONE to help me out and the daddy, well he would just irritate me asking me dumb questions like, "did u take your vitamin today" and i was like, " i cant even hold down water and u want me to take a vitiman?" And being the military, having a roommate, she would cook the nastiest things, so I would puke ALL the time like you,, every half hour. I finally got out of there though. I take Zolfran everyday. Ive been able to go a pill a day, but i can take up to two. Ill be takin' that for the rest of my pregnancy too. I am glad that i found someone like me bc i felt depressed and helpless bc no one understood how sick i was. I think i am finally back up to my pre prego weight, so i know ull get there too!

*First*Time*Mommy* - Monday, 23 June
i have hyperemersis too! It totally sucks. I still cant cook food without wanting to throw up and it is hard for me to clean bc the products have such a strong smell. I lost 15 pounds during my 1st trimester. My doctor was worried. He thought he was gonna have to admit me to the hospital with an IV for vitimans and fluids, and no food until i stopped throwing up. I was scared. But luckily, i was maintaining my low weight so he didnt feel the need. Was yours that bad?
