I am still on Lupron. I went in for my first blood test and ultrasound last week. The ultrasound was fine but my blood test showed that my estrogen was too high. Apparently this happens in 35 - 40% of the women who go to my clinic. My RE nurse said it was nothing to worry about. I go for more bloodwork on Wednesday the 19th. If all is well I will be able to start Bravelle (stims) on Saturday and will hope for a ER the first week in December. Trying to stay positive. I'm getting anxious for Christmas so I've started taking things out. If I'll be down and out in early December I want to make sure I get my Christmas stuff up sooner rather than later so I can enjoy it longer. Hopefully I'll get everything done before the weekend since Thanksgiving is next week and that is always hectic!
I am still on Lupron. While the shots didn't hurt at first they are starting to sting. I might need a new poking ground and may not be varying it enough. I am anxious to start the Bravelle next weekend. I keep reading posts here and on thebump.com and while I am trying to be positive and excited, I am starting to get nervous. There are so many women who have had 3,4 and 5 IVFs or FETs and I am becoming a little scared. We can't afford to keep doing this. Paying all of this out of pocket is expensive. I guess all I can do is pray and try to keep positive thoughts.
Last week at the doctor's appointment they measured my uterus and I had my protocol interview. I started Lupron injections yesterday and will start Bravelle on November 15th. So far the injections aren't a big deal at all. Keeping track of everything I have to take is a little daunting though. We went and saw a social worker last week too. She was wonderful! She told me what to expect and what was going to happen, how they'd take out my eggs and whether it would hurt or not. It was so helpful. She told us to stay excited because no matter what if it doesn't happen we'll be disappointed so why waste time being scared if it works out for us. So here I am with a positive attitude. We've been picking out names (because if I am anything it is thoroghly obsessed). With my eggs coming out week of Thanksgiving and then being implanted a few days later, this holiday season will be an exciting one. By the second week in December we'll know if I am pregnant. Hopefully it will be a very merry Christmas.
I finally got my AF (20 days late). So now I've started on birth control to give my ovaries a rest and we are both on some kind of antibiotic. We go for a doctors apppointment, injection class and counseling session next week. Then I start injections on Sunday, October 26th. I got my BOX of prescriptions today. Holy cow! There are about 8 different drugs and 3 different sized syringes. Very intimindating. I can't wait to go to the appointment and class next week to figure out when and how much and how to get this thing rolling. They keep telling me that it is an 8-week process so I am guessing that they'll do the transfer in mid-November and the rest is 2WW. I am just guessing though.
DH and I went to our infertlity doc and he has advised us to do in vitro. Our cyle will start with my next AF which is due Saturday. I will then be on BC for three weeks and then the fun drugs begin. They think transfer of the embryos should be the week of November 10th (our anniversary week). They say that there is a 50% chance it will work and since I am under 35 I have a good chance. So, we wrote out our downpayment of a trillion dollars to begin this endeavor. They are really thorough. We even have to have counseling. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Well since the last time I was here my husband got tested and we found out he has a low sperm count. We've made an appointment to see a urologist but of course since it's summer it is taking over a month to get in and see him. His count is too low even for IVF. So we are still waiting. . .
I had my laproscopy last Friday to remove a cyst which was the size of a tennis ball. I was worried I'd lose an ovary, never thought news would be worse. Dr. said that b/c of an appendectomy 5 years ago there is a ton of scar tissue -- too much for him to remove. He said that I have a ton of eggs and my tubes are not blocked on the inside, there is just too much scar tissue for the egg to go down the tubes and therefore I am high risk for ectopic pregnancy, if I can even get pregnant at all. He suggests that we look into IVF. Needless to say we're devistated. Not really what you want to hear. So, I am taking a break from the site to get my thoughts together. Hopefully I'll be back soon.
My surgery is scheduled for April 25th. If the cyst is on the ovary then my Dr. will see if he can carve around the ovary and leave some tissue, if the cyst is in hte ovary then he will have to take the ovary and will leave the tube unless that is damaged and then he'll take that too.
Got AF 1 day early this month. I really thought this would be our month. I was having breast pain and weird sensations and veins on my bb but I guess not. I had an ultrasound today and found out the cyst had grown so I am going to have it out. Hopefully it will be scheduled for next week sometime.
Got my AF. Month 1 of Clomid . . . nothing. Same dosage for month 2
Well, I went to the Dr. yesterday for my mid-month check up on my first round of Clomid. He said my CM was a good texture and that my left ovary was a little bigger than my right and everything looked good. He said most people don't get pregnant on their first month of Clomid, but there is no reason why we cant. He also said if I don't get pregnant and my period doesn't come on time that he'd bump up my dosage of clomid. Here's hoping that the 2ww wont be too treacherous!
