Congrats on the twins! I am a type I diabetic and have been on the pump for two years. It is great! You will love it when comparing it to the syringes. So much easier. Of course you will need to count carbs and test before you eat anything - but the control you get from it is amazing. Good Luck.

Get off of metformin and be careful with your pump. getting used to a pump and all that can happen with one can be tricky in pregnancy. I am 29 weeks and on insulin thoruhg my whole pregnancy. Tight control and a good attitude... thats all you need!

Hi! this is my first pregnancy and I'm a type 1 diabetic, on insulin of course and I'm sure I understand exactly how you feel. were you on insulin with your other children?

Hello there! Don't be scared there are a lot of us out there. I have been a type two diabetic for about 4 years. I normally just take the metformin and control with my diet however, since I've been pregnant they've put me on insulin 4 times a day. That was very scary however, I'm totally used to it now and it's soo easy to control my sugars levels and is soo much better for the baby. I'm not on the pump but I've talked to several women who are and they love it. You just hang in there and in a few weeks time you'll be an ol pro at this. :) Congrats on the twins and good luck!!!

Congratulations on your pregnancy and your having TWINS.. How exciting.. I just want you to wish you the best of luck with you.. I read you have type 2 diabetes. I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant and it was the toughest thing I've ever went through.. My advice is to listen to your dietician and keep those numbers down.. I had a big problem with my FBS and I didn't get it undercontrol until I was 34 weeks along and it took a high dose of Humalog to do it.. The good news was my baby was not affected by me having GD and she was born small and very healthy.. So there is light at the end of the tunnel.. Just remember, keep those numbers down now matter what you have to do..
