10/12/07: Had a little scare over the past few days with right lower abdominal pain, no bleeding. Went to the MD and they decided to do an u/s just to be sure. Finally got to see my little guy/girl and every looked good. They think the pain is from stretching of the uterus but I go back in 2 weeks for another u/s.

Tuesday, 23 Oct
Pain is gone. Now I am hungry and FAT! Go this Friday for scan to see the spine and neck for Down's Syndrome. I am already a little nervous about it. Will update after!

Sunday, 28 Oct
10/26/07. Had the u/s and blood test for Nuchal testing and checking the spine. Things seemed good! Baby did NOT want to cooperate though...the u/s tech needed the baby to look straight ahead and baby kept their head turned. I had to roll onto my side, then the tech had to push on my stomach and still the baby would not move its head straight. Once she finally got a good picture, the baby wouldn't stop moving! So funny...I already have a stubborn kid hee hee! Just like the parents :)

Tuesday, 27 Nov

11/26. Had a quick belly check at the MD's today. All is well, heartbeat 137. I love hearing that heartbeat...I could listen to that all day!!

Go for the big scan on Dec 7th but we are NOT going to find out what the sex is. I think waiting will be hard but make the delivery that much more exciting!

Also, I am up 10lbs now...feeling fat and moving to maternity pants for comfort.

Saturday, 8 Dec

Dec 7:
We had our big, anatmoy scan u/s on Friday the 7th and it was great! It was so cool to see all the toes and fingers and all of the organs. Seems that everything is developing fine and according to schedule! We opted NOT to find out the sex, though it is tough it is exciting not to know! Well, I am 19 weeks today and almost at the half way point. I can't believe how time flies.

Saturday, 8 Dec

My gut feeling is that we are having a boy; I don't know why but that is what I think. The Chinese calendar says it is a boy too. I guess we will all find out in 5 months!

Friday, 28 Dec

Went for a tummy check yesterday. Everything seems to be progressing well. I am up 16 pounds now (yikes!) but the doctor assured me this is normal! Can `t wait for this little one to be here :)

Tuesday, 29 Jan

1/25/08. Had a quick (and I mean quick!) belly check. Nothing new happening except I am now up 20 pounds! My husband and I are both on the smaller side so I can `t imagine this will be a big baby but you never know. I had not been feeling the baby asmuch but the heartbeat was strong and after the doctor `s appt this baby started moving around more and more the past few days. We are still all set on a girl `s name -Madelyn Anne but are now debating the boys name. I really like Gavin Antonio or Gavin Sebastion (both middle names were my husband `s grandfathers) but my husband is not set. Our back-up boys name is Zachary David (or Antonio/Sebastion as middle names). I have my blood glucose test this week and have to go back in week 28 to get a Rhogam shot as I am Rh negative.

Friday, 22 Feb

February Update:I have been slacking here...anyways this month has seen a lot of GROWTH! Belly is big and baby is getting stronger, more hard rolls than kicks or punches. I failed my 1-hour glucose test, stressed for the week in between the results and the 3-hour and then passed the 3-hour! So happy about that. Now I start going every 2 weeks and can `t wait for May. Still don `t know the sex. Names as of today are: Madelyn Anne for a girl. For a boy, the list keeps growing: Maxx Wiley, Maxx Sebastion, Sawyer Antonio, or Zachary David. I think we will wait to see the little one if it is a boy and then finally decide on a name. So far the weight gain has been steady - 26 pounds and 10 weeks to go! I will turn 30 in week 30 and can `t wait to meet this little one!

I feel for you that you have to go back to work. :-( My only advise is to get a crock pot and try to make some meals that are ready to eat when you get home so you aren't spending your time cooking when you have your little cutie. I do that now and I don't work, but it still saves a lot of time because the evenings are hard for us. She's sooooo cranky about 4:30pm until about 8:30pm! I don't know what it is, but we call it the "grizzly period!" Good luck to you though.

I go back a week from today and I am dreading it too. I have shed many tears as well, it is nice to know I am not alone. My husband and I have been exploring the option of me being a SAHM and applied for private insurance only to find out I am not insurable because I have hyperthyroidism. I cried when I enrolled Jamison into his daycare. When he is in a good mood I am always there making faces at him encouraging him to smile and just loving every minute it, it kills me to think that no one will appreciate those little moods like me and it will all be wasted. No one in daycare will spend the time making faces at him. It is one teacher for 4 babies how could they possibly pay attention to all of Jamison's smiles. There are times where I will be doing something...folding laundry or something and then when I look at Jamison he is staring at me smiling. It melts my heart and I always stop what I am doing to smile back and play a little. No one will appreciate those little smiles like I do. I am starting to feel like crying now. This sucks.

Hey! About the work thing. I did surprisingly fine my first 2 weeks because I was only working half days and it was kind of like getting some good adult time in. But now that it's been full days for a month I'm definitely feeling it. And yes, your house will go to hell. We have always had a cleaning lady but still, the clutter is what gets crazy. I wish you the best of luck and I hope it's a smooth transition for you. I guess it's just a big adjust ment for all of us working mom's.

i know!! Like 6 1/2 weeks left...I can't believe it! My shower is this weekend...we're heading to NY for the shower and then to my parents beach house in MD for the week. Should be fun! I'm feeling fine except I have this nasty head cold...sinus thing going on. I'm hoping it will be gone by the weekend...we'll see. How is the little peanut??? I feel like I havent seen you in ages! I hate to ask this....but when does work start back up? Talk to you soon!!

im glad to know im not alone! it seems to only happen at night. any problem i have breastfeeding happens at night. ive finally found a pacifier that works for him and that has made a huge improvement, and it gives me a break for a little bit.

pawsitvemama - Monday, 23 June
Awww.. they always seem to loose weight after the birth! Addy is doing VERy well. She is 13.5 pounds and very long in the 50% tile for weight and height. Developmentally she's a little slower, but not much and by 2 years old she should be all caught up there as well. Her new thing is finding her voice- she's starting to try and babble!!

mom2mady - Sunday, 22 June
Hi, I am a new mommy to and I am breastfeeding (or atleast think I am), can you give me some advice that the exoert gave you. Im thinking of going to a class myself I just dont know if Im producing or feeding enough. Thanks for any advice

pawsitvemama - Friday, 20 June
Sounds like acid reflux to me...I breast feed addy and she has it. Was your baby a preemie?

Traviesa - Friday, 20 June
wat the heck is that?lol

2wiceblessed - Thursday, 19 June
Here is what I wonder about the fussiness, could it be gas? Possibly check with your ped. but they do make stuff for infants.

Traviesa - Thursday, 19 June
dee, i bf...no dairy or soy protein in our diets. no peanuts either...that might help

nikkiekck - Wednesday, 18 June
Don't worry about him being a premie to much. My little girl was a premie and now 5 years later she looks and acts just like a full term baby!! You couldn't tell by looking at her. she had to have a feeding tube for 6 months then was eating fine and now she is verry healthy!!

melsue01 - Tuesday, 17 June
such a handsome fella!! YOU know in your heart that breast is best do not worry about what those other people say. Yes the formula will naturally put more weight on him, but as long as he is thriving and satisfied after eating,I would not worry. After 5 or 6 months they will need more than breastmilk anyways. My daughter's breastfed and the four months old that are formula fed are definitely bigger. Those percentiles don't acoount for CRAP.... Keep b/f and just find a funny comment to make back when ppl say things that make you angry!!!!!

newbiemama - Tuesday, 17 June
Hi dee! I too have a premmie who weighs 12 pounds! I get cooments that he's small all the time! Part of that is that they were early! the percentile chart is comparing them to term babies and that's why he measures low. Babies do not fit into a one size fits all measuement we all come in different shapes and sizes right? I don't think his weight is reflective of BFing unless you doc is concerned. You could alwas pump and deliver milk by bottle to measure what he's getting! really Breast milk is the best thing for all babies regardless of their situation you shold feel great about what you are doing as a mother!

I just transitioned my son a few days ago. He is 11 weeks and he didnt even notice. I heard if you wait too long, they will notice and they wont sleep. My Doctor said at the latest...3 months.

megmeg1806 - Friday, 13 June
Those little carseats just swallow them up when they're that little don't they? He's sooo adorable.

lolabean08 - Thursday, 12 June
well i am not so sick of the comments of one of my kids being small because he was 8.5wks early but i am sick of evryone commenting on how big my other kiddos are...my son is 20months and 35in tall and 35lbs and my daughter is 4 and 39in tall and 39lbs. !!! they are huge and in the 90th percentile and higher...but i have learned to ignore everyone my kids are beautiful and perfect...and so is your little one!!! good luck!!!

Pregalicious mami - Saturday, 7 June
Saw your post in the babies forum re: erections and it's perfectly normal. My son is now 3 yrs old and he still gets them. I do think it's odd but perfectly normal..hope this helps.

chasesmommy08 - Saturday, 7 June
I went to Babies r us to buy one and I was talking to a guy I know(married with a baby) and he said I should get Baby Bjorn, I said its too expensive and he kept going on and on about it. Anyway turns out he bought the baby bjorn for us and left it at the register for me, weird right?!? I couldn't believe it! Now I don't know how to thank them , my husband said make them cookies and mail them to him, I don't know but that was pretty nice if him, but I still feel guilty.

mommy4ever - Friday, 6 June
Thanks! Yeah, he has had no fever. He was weighed today and he is 12 lbs so I guess no worries! How is your lil' guy?

chasesmommy08 - Friday, 6 June
Thanks for answering my question about baby carriers!

~NyMom - Wednesday, 4 June
hi I just read your post.. I did comment back in the forum but thought I can reach you better here.. my daughter was born a month early and her doc doesn't go by the growth chart because she is not a full term baby.. last time she was weighed was in the beginning of last week and she was 8 pounds.. I breast feed exclusively and she gets a bottle of breast milk sometimes when I pump... it is just that our babies are smaller but hey at least they are ahead of other babies since ours are pre term doing things full term babies do at their age
