10/12/07: Had a little scare over the past few days with right lower abdominal pain, no bleeding. Went to the MD and they decided to do an u/s just to be sure. Finally got to see my little guy/girl and every looked good. They think the pain is from stretching of the uterus but I go back in 2 weeks for another u/s.

Pain is gone. Now I am hungry and FAT! Go this Friday for scan to see the spine and neck for Down's Syndrome. I am already a little nervous about it. Will update after!

Sunday, 28 Oct

10/26/07. Had the u/s and blood test for Nuchal testing and checking the spine. Things seemed good! Baby did NOT want to cooperate though...the u/s tech needed the baby to look straight ahead and baby kept their head turned. I had to roll onto my side, then the tech had to push on my stomach and still the baby would not move its head straight. Once she finally got a good picture, the baby wouldn't stop moving! So funny...I already have a stubborn kid hee hee! Just like the parents :)

11/26. Had a quick belly check at the MD's today. All is well, heartbeat 137. I love hearing that heartbeat...I could listen to that all day!!

Go for the big scan on Dec 7th but we are NOT going to find out what the sex is. I think waiting will be hard but make the delivery that much more exciting!

Also, I am up 10lbs now...feeling fat and moving to maternity pants for comfort.

Dec 7:
We had our big, anatmoy scan u/s on Friday the 7th and it was great! It was so cool to see all the toes and fingers and all of the organs. Seems that everything is developing fine and according to schedule! We opted NOT to find out the sex, though it is tough it is exciting not to know! Well, I am 19 weeks today and almost at the half way point. I can't believe how time flies.

My gut feeling is that we are having a boy; I don't know why but that is what I think. The Chinese calendar says it is a boy too. I guess we will all find out in 5 months!

Went for a tummy check yesterday. Everything seems to be progressing well. I am up 16 pounds now (yikes!) but the doctor assured me this is normal! Can `t wait for this little one to be here :)

Tuesday, 29 Jan

1/25/08. Had a quick (and I mean quick!) belly check. Nothing new happening except I am now up 20 pounds! My husband and I are both on the smaller side so I can `t imagine this will be a big baby but you never know. I had not been feeling the baby asmuch but the heartbeat was strong and after the doctor `s appt this baby started moving around more and more the past few days. We are still all set on a girl `s name -Madelyn Anne but are now debating the boys name. I really like Gavin Antonio or Gavin Sebastion (both middle names were my husband `s grandfathers) but my husband is not set. Our back-up boys name is Zachary David (or Antonio/Sebastion as middle names). I have my blood glucose test this week and have to go back in week 28 to get a Rhogam shot as I am Rh negative.

February Update:I have been slacking here...anyways this month has seen a lot of GROWTH! Belly is big and baby is getting stronger, more hard rolls than kicks or punches. I failed my 1-hour glucose test, stressed for the week in between the results and the 3-hour and then passed the 3-hour! So happy about that. Now I start going every 2 weeks and can `t wait for May. Still don `t know the sex. Names as of today are: Madelyn Anne for a girl. For a boy, the list keeps growing: Maxx Wiley, Maxx Sebastion, Sawyer Antonio, or Zachary David. I think we will wait to see the little one if it is a boy and then finally decide on a name. So far the weight gain has been steady - 26 pounds and 10 weeks to go! I will turn 30 in week 30 and can `t wait to meet this little one!

Hi, my doc said if their poop seems kinda like play dough to give them pedialite. I gave my lil girl some the other day cause her poop was the same, a lil green and pastey. the doc said they could get dehydrated really easy this time of year

Xander is 6 weeks on saturday, we was 9.8 at birth went down to 9.4 and now is 11.65 so both our children have gained about the same amount! Dr said Xander's growth is right on, he is breastfeed 100% as well!

thank goodness for girlfriends who have gone through this stuff before! I want to extend the offer to you and Pete to come over either Thursday or Friday night to watch Maxx for you guys. Maybe you guys could go on a date, or just run to the grocery store together. Steve's off to a conference for the week, so I'm looking to do things to keep myself occupied while he's away. Let me know what you think...even if its just a walk around the block, I'd be so happy to come over and hang out with the peanut :)

just reading about third trimester dr.s appts and read this....Between 35 and 37 weeks, your practitioner will swab your vagina and rectum to check for a common infection called group B strep.

Did you have this done?? the whole rectum thing just threw me for a loop. hahahha :)

Hey there! I got my results yesterday...I'm a-okay. Don't need to worry about the diabetes thing, which is a relief. I still am having difficulty with the reality that a baby will be here in about 11 weeks. I really don't think I've had a reality check or anything...its weird. Maybe once I start getting stuff and setting up the room, but as of now it still seems unreal. Did you feel that way at all? How did everything at the doctor's go? Everything check out ok? Were you anxious with leaving Maxx? and July 12th would work fine! thanks again for offering to do that for us. You're the best! Talk to you soon...

Mickey is now 8lb 13oz at 8wks old. Yes apart from the sleep thing I am feeling good. I gave him a week of expressed breast milk as he had to be fed through a tube in his nose ,being ultra premature he could not suck yet! He was in neo natal care at the hospital for 3 weeks as here they wont let them out until they are over 5lb and feeding well so I gave him bottles rather than have him there any longer. Isn't it funny how you know what they are? I am so glad you guys are ok and best wishes for the future and everything we have to look forward to!!!

Hi there remember me? well my little man decided to come at 33wks and 5 days on the 23/03/08!! I was in shock - he weighed 4lb10oz . I thought I would check in on you as you were due the same week and found you gave birth early too!!! Would love to hear all about it. Congrats and he is beautiful. I'm feeling pretty good for the most part. I've been have some lower back pain (but I dont think that weeding helped) I'd love to get together and have you fill me in on all the things you've learned. Hey DeeRod! Glad to see you on the site! Yes, that is perfectly normal for him to sleep that long. Your boobs may feel like they will explode until you feed him, so yes, I would wake him up to eat. Some babies may start to sleep more at night and eat more in the day to make up for it- consider yourself LUCKY! 3 weeks already! Wow, they grow so fast! Andrew is 10 days old now...

hi there - i'm from 2 mos (3 mos next week) & saw your message about marathon breastfeeding. my pediatrician suggested breastfeeding on one breast for 10 mins, switching to the other for another 10, and then if baby still seems hungry, going back to the first one for another 5 or 10 minutes. or you could do 15 mins each side. burp in between switching sides, of course. it worked for us - my little guy was 7 lb 4 oz at birth, 6 lb 10 oz when we left the hospital, and then by his 3 week check up had surpassed his birth weight. and now he's huge, lol! you're doing great -- hang in there!

I do the same thing, side lying breastfeeding. I have fallen asleep once doing this too. Only for a couple hours though and I had not even moved a fraction of an inch when I woke up. I think your mommy instincts know where you baby is. I wouldn't make a habbit of this but I am sure it is ok. Just make sure the blankets and pillows are pulled away from him before you start feeding so that if you do fall asleep he isn't covered. Plus aren't they so cute cuddled up to you. I feel so bad taking him away to his bassinet where he has to be all alone even if it is just next to my bed but I am paranoid of him sleeping in bed with us too even though I get very tempted. Lots of people do it succesfully so I don't know, it is your call.
