Saturday, 13 Oct
10/12/07: Had a little scare over the past few days with right lower abdominal pain, no bleeding. Went to the MD and they decided to do an u/s just to be sure. Finally got to see my little guy/girl and every looked good. They think the pain is from stretching of the uterus but I go back in 2 weeks for another u/s.

Tuesday, 23 Oct
Pain is gone. Now I am hungry and FAT! Go this Friday for scan to see the spine and neck for Down's Syndrome. I am already a little nervous about it. Will update after!

Sunday, 28 Oct
10/26/07. Had the u/s and blood test for Nuchal testing and checking the spine. Things seemed good! Baby did NOT want to cooperate though...the u/s tech needed the baby to look straight ahead and baby kept their head turned. I had to roll onto my side, then the tech had to push on my stomach and still the baby would not move its head straight. Once she finally got a good picture, the baby wouldn't stop moving! So funny...I already have a stubborn kid hee hee! Just like the parents :)

Tuesday, 27 Nov

11/26. Had a quick belly check at the MD's today. All is well, heartbeat 137. I love hearing that heartbeat...I could listen to that all day!!

Go for the big scan on Dec 7th but we are NOT going to find out what the sex is. I think waiting will be hard but make the delivery that much more exciting!

Also, I am up 10lbs now...feeling fat and moving to maternity pants for comfort.

Saturday, 8 Dec

Dec 7:
We had our big, anatmoy scan u/s on Friday the 7th and it was great! It was so cool to see all the toes and fingers and all of the organs. Seems that everything is developing fine and according to schedule! We opted NOT to find out the sex, though it is tough it is exciting not to know! Well, I am 19 weeks today and almost at the half way point. I can't believe how time flies.

Saturday, 8 Dec

My gut feeling is that we are having a boy; I don't know why but that is what I think. The Chinese calendar says it is a boy too. I guess we will all find out in 5 months!

Friday, 28 Dec

Went for a tummy check yesterday. Everything seems to be progressing well. I am up 16 pounds now (yikes!) but the doctor assured me this is normal! Can `t wait for this little one to be here :)

Tuesday, 29 Jan

1/25/08. Had a quick (and I mean quick!) belly check. Nothing new happening except I am now up 20 pounds! My husband and I are both on the smaller side so I can `t imagine this will be a big baby but you never know. I had not been feeling the baby asmuch but the heartbeat was strong and after the doctor `s appt this baby started moving around more and more the past few days. We are still all set on a girl `s name -Madelyn Anne but are now debating the boys name. I really like Gavin Antonio or Gavin Sebastion (both middle names were my husband `s grandfathers) but my husband is not set. Our back-up boys name is Zachary David (or Antonio/Sebastion as middle names). I have my blood glucose test this week and have to go back in week 28 to get a Rhogam shot as I am Rh negative.

Friday, 22 Feb

February Update:I have been slacking here...anyways this month has seen a lot of GROWTH! Belly is big and baby is getting stronger, more hard rolls than kicks or punches. I failed my 1-hour glucose test, stressed for the week in between the results and the 3-hour and then passed the 3-hour! So happy about that. Now I start going every 2 weeks and can `t wait for May. Still don `t know the sex. Names as of today are: Madelyn Anne for a girl. For a boy, the list keeps growing: Maxx Wiley, Maxx Sebastion, Sawyer Antonio, or Zachary David. I think we will wait to see the little one if it is a boy and then finally decide on a name. So far the weight gain has been steady - 26 pounds and 10 weeks to go! I will turn 30 in week 30 and can `t wait to meet this little one!

My fingers swell early on so I had to quit wearing my rings long ago. :( Sometimes you swell more after birth! I did with my last.

triafrog - Monday, 24 Mar
I took mine off this weekend :( I'm very sad b/c I love my rings

Hey Momma D! I just wanted to check in and see how you were doing! Feeling ok? I'm finally starting to get my belly going. I've moved out of my normal clothes, but maternity is still a bit too big. So I went out and bought a few loose shirts to tied me over until I really pop. What are your plans for easter? Can't wait to see all the girls next weekend!

brandi0881 - Thursday, 20 Mar
Yea, it's unpaid leave. I am talking about my same pay when I return. But it's all fixed now. I was right and my boss was wrong...I love it...LOL! Hope everything is going well with you!

WeeBerry - Tuesday, 18 Mar
Hey girl - thanks for the note! I know what you mean about trying to be patient about waiting to find out the sex... it's super hard for me because I just went for an U/S last week, and the tech asked if I knew the sex. I was so tempted to ask her to tell me, but begrudgingly told her we wanted to be surprised. Now I'm going for another u/s on April 9th, and I wonder if I'll give in... we're looking at having a c-section done on April 30th now, so I don't need the 'carrot' to get me through the labour so much. Then again, I've made it this far without knowing - by the 9th of April I'll only have 21 days to go... it would be like eating a gallon of ice cream after losing the last 10 lbs from months of dieting, dedication and exercise. I'd feel so weak, like I had no willpower... yet it wouldn't make the icecream taste any less sweet, lol.

What I'm REALLY looking forward to is my last day of work - April 11th. Only 17 days to go!

Congrats on deciding on your names by the way! We're still sticking with ours - haven't had any second thoughts at all. It's definitely been nice to have that part of things decided and out of the way.

Hope you're doing well! Chat at you soon. Hugs, Cran.

metalstar83 - Monday, 17 Mar
I have been on bed rest since last week, I am almost completely effaced, and unfortunately I am just beginning to dilate :( Bed rest is so boring, I am such an active person too...I feel bad for my husband, I try to be upbeat when he is around, but it's hard when you are uncomfortable and have been confined to the house all day. Are you still working? How's your pregnancy going?

dixiegreen - Monday, 17 Mar
Oh yeah, and I also had an U/S because I am considered high risk... because i don't have a large intestine due to surgery...

dixiegreen - Monday, 17 Mar
You know, They only do 20 week and 8 month ultrasounds normally, but I paid for the 16week one from an outside provider to find out the sex... Worth it for 100 bucks I thought, then they did an extra one for me because I was measuring too big, then they did an extra one because of the GD - they needed to see if he was getting too big and on that one at 33 weeks they found the problem. They went back through the other scans I had had and it wasn't on them... so I would try to get another scan if I were you.... Plus, they are just so need to see, you know!

dixiegreen - Monday, 17 Mar
They found it on the ultrasound. The stomach forms like a double bubble looking thing and stops
You keep me posted about you too. Send me news when you have any.

Hey Dee,
I JUST got a call from the Mayo clinic (they did the test over the weekend, can you believe it) He doesn't have downs syndrome. Thank you lord! So both chroms test have ruled that out. So now we just have to focus on the physical abnormality. We can handle that. I won't let him be alone. I just have to keep him safe for 47 more days so he can cook properly. :)

Thanks for being concerned and writing back. I was a wreck. I almost couldn't talk about it. There were too many what if's, you know....
I am posting his new ultrasound pic in a minute - I didn't want to do it until after the results for downs were in. I didn't want people trying to figure out if he 'looked' like he had it from the picture.
Oh! what a crazy week.
How are you feeling?

dixiegreen - Monday, 17 Mar
I have to vent for a moment.....I went for an ultrasound last friday and found out that my baby has something called Duodenal atresia. It is where the small intestines is not connected to the stomach - which means he will have to have major surgery immendiately after birth just to be able to feed - also there is a 1 in 3 chance he has down syndrome so I did an amnio to check - the wait is killing me.... I passed the Downs syndrome test like 4 months ago with flying colors but that was only an 80% accurate test. I can't tell you how this feels, I can't even begin to describe it. I am almost in denial. -and you know what, I have watched so many baby shows, I thought I knew all the disorders and problems that could happen -- this was never one of them.... So I'm having a pretty bad day..... I have cried so much. I'm just in shock.... I should get the results by Wed. I can deal with the physical abnormalities but the thought of down syndrome... kills me.

momofboys - Saturday, 15 Mar
I woke up with heartburn & my back is killing me!! I think my hubby is sick of hearing it, he just kind of ignores me whining. I just wish I could take the baby off for one day at least.

karina - Saturday, 15 Mar
meeeeeeeeeeee! i have horrible heartburn since month one... and no, i cannot get use to it... TUMS sucks! don't work for me at all, i drink Riopan (is a medicine i buy in mexico) it work for 10 min then i'm the same... this feeling is horrible, no matter what i eat i get it, i complain all day as well poor hubby must be sick of it, but he's not showing it (at least), yesterday i was telling him, i wish u can feel all that i'm feeling for one day, and he was like 'no, i'm ok, thanks!'... hahaha, any way hope ur heartburn is not as bad as mine... keep in touch!

JenIsMommyOf2 - Saturday, 15 Mar
About your concern regarding the epidural.. I would definately recommend it.. but then again everyone is different.. i had one with my 1st child.. and i was still in a lot of pain with it.. i can't even imagine how i would've felt without it!!

Scarlett - Friday, 14 Mar
Hi how are you? How is your pregnancy?

momofboys - Friday, 14 Mar
Ask your dr about the epidural at your next appt. I would only get it when you are at the unbearable point of labor. Sometimes the anesthesiologist is busy with other patients so you have to wait a bit. If you have to sign up now than do so even if you end up not needing it. I have 3 kids and got it EVERY time. You still feel a little bit of the pain, so I can't imagine labor without it!!

bchbldgrl - Friday, 14 Mar
My friends told me to register early for my epideral...because if you do the just wait and see thing you could run out of time & when you decide last minute for pain relief it may be too late..

I'm kinda icky with needles too and I'm getting the epideral...I'd take the needle prick over hours of pain in a snap! lol =)

Hope you're doing well...take care & TTYS xoxo Steph

NJDevChick - Friday, 14 Mar
When I had my first I went into the hospital saying I wanted to have a natural birth, no pain meds...but after they broke my water (they induced me) the labor pains got so intense that I switched my mind quickly and had the epiderual. With this one I again am going to try with no pain meds, hopefully I stick with it this time, we will see though! I don't think it is a decision you 'have' to make prior to birth, but it's a good idea to having a birthing plan, but it can change!

bigmommat - Friday, 14 Mar
Hi! Congrats on your pregnancy. Im from week 31 but like to read ahead. As far as the epidural goes i had it with my first two and am wanting to do without for this one and he is a big boy already so im scared but I really want the experience. You will have nurses help you through the process as the anethesiologist is doing the epidural they help you stay curled and still while the dr puts it in. I had contractions while they did it so it freaked me out but it went fine. I actually didnt have my epidural with my son till an hour before he was born because the anethesiologists were busy in emergency surgery and the pain was tolerable for me but that could be because I had only had a baby 13.5 months prior and i was better able to know what to expect. Let me know what you decided! I really want to try without this time!

zauber4 - Friday, 14 Mar
DeeRod, My doctor gave me all the hospital admissions paper work to fill out including the anesthesia questionnaire. This paper work was given to me when I was 28 weeks pregnant. I filled it out and brought to the administration office. This way I don't have to fill out and sign papers when I am in labor. So basically, once you are admitted to the hospital you can chose wheather you like the epidural or not and papers are already signed. I hope this info was helpful.

amberd - Friday, 14 Mar
Hey hope everything is well with you and the baby!! well where I am from you HAVE to sign the consent form for the epidural prior to your delivery but if you decide you dont wont it you do not have to have it but if you dont sign it and you wont it your out of luck and honeslty when I got my epidural i didnt even feel a thing i think you are in so much pain from the contractions it couteracts the little prick from the needle!! I promise I didnt even know they were done until they said ok you can lay back down I was like WOW!!! and you will already have some other type pain med in you so its up to you but I highly recommend it!! It is well worth it

dixiegreen - Thursday, 13 Mar
Maybe it's a girl? I thought you got a ultrasound done..... So - have you settled on a middle name yet? I love Max... I am leaning towards, Asher Mason Green.
I am getting a growth scan tomorrow due to the diabetes. I hope they say -- okay! he's ready!!! even thought I will only be 33 weeks.

juliedue2008 - Thursday, 13 Mar
I understand and I agree about the cost!
