10/12/07: Had a little scare over the past few days with right lower abdominal pain, no bleeding. Went to the MD and they decided to do an u/s just to be sure. Finally got to see my little guy/girl and every looked good. They think the pain is from stretching of the uterus but I go back in 2 weeks for another u/s.

Tuesday, 23 Oct
Pain is gone. Now I am hungry and FAT! Go this Friday for scan to see the spine and neck for Down's Syndrome. I am already a little nervous about it. Will update after!

Sunday, 28 Oct
10/26/07. Had the u/s and blood test for Nuchal testing and checking the spine. Things seemed good! Baby did NOT want to cooperate though...the u/s tech needed the baby to look straight ahead and baby kept their head turned. I had to roll onto my side, then the tech had to push on my stomach and still the baby would not move its head straight. Once she finally got a good picture, the baby wouldn't stop moving! So funny...I already have a stubborn kid hee hee! Just like the parents :)

Tuesday, 27 Nov

11/26. Had a quick belly check at the MD's today. All is well, heartbeat 137. I love hearing that heartbeat...I could listen to that all day!!

Go for the big scan on Dec 7th but we are NOT going to find out what the sex is. I think waiting will be hard but make the delivery that much more exciting!

Also, I am up 10lbs now...feeling fat and moving to maternity pants for comfort.

Saturday, 8 Dec

Dec 7:
We had our big, anatmoy scan u/s on Friday the 7th and it was great! It was so cool to see all the toes and fingers and all of the organs. Seems that everything is developing fine and according to schedule! We opted NOT to find out the sex, though it is tough it is exciting not to know! Well, I am 19 weeks today and almost at the half way point. I can't believe how time flies.

Saturday, 8 Dec

My gut feeling is that we are having a boy; I don't know why but that is what I think. The Chinese calendar says it is a boy too. I guess we will all find out in 5 months!

Friday, 28 Dec

Went for a tummy check yesterday. Everything seems to be progressing well. I am up 16 pounds now (yikes!) but the doctor assured me this is normal! Can `t wait for this little one to be here :)

Tuesday, 29 Jan

1/25/08. Had a quick (and I mean quick!) belly check. Nothing new happening except I am now up 20 pounds! My husband and I are both on the smaller side so I can `t imagine this will be a big baby but you never know. I had not been feeling the baby asmuch but the heartbeat was strong and after the doctor `s appt this baby started moving around more and more the past few days. We are still all set on a girl `s name -Madelyn Anne but are now debating the boys name. I really like Gavin Antonio or Gavin Sebastion (both middle names were my husband `s grandfathers) but my husband is not set. Our back-up boys name is Zachary David (or Antonio/Sebastion as middle names). I have my blood glucose test this week and have to go back in week 28 to get a Rhogam shot as I am Rh negative.

Friday, 22 Feb

February Update:I have been slacking here...anyways this month has seen a lot of GROWTH! Belly is big and baby is getting stronger, more hard rolls than kicks or punches. I failed my 1-hour glucose test, stressed for the week in between the results and the 3-hour and then passed the 3-hour! So happy about that. Now I start going every 2 weeks and can `t wait for May. Still don `t know the sex. Names as of today are: Madelyn Anne for a girl. For a boy, the list keeps growing: Maxx Wiley, Maxx Sebastion, Sawyer Antonio, or Zachary David. I think we will wait to see the little one if it is a boy and then finally decide on a name. So far the weight gain has been steady - 26 pounds and 10 weeks to go! I will turn 30 in week 30 and can `t wait to meet this little one!

Hey girl, yeah..I'm getting headaches every once and awhile. They are pretty bad and nothing seems to work with getting rid of them. But they only happen once every two weeks or so. I think they are the hormones as well. some people have suggested caffine, so we'll see if that helps. I told my students today that im having a baby and they were like, we thought you looked rounder. So cute :)

juliedue2008 - Wednesday, 12 Mar
We are doing the blood cord saving. Only because of if there is even a possiblilty that it could save our childs life in the future the 1850 up front and 150 a yr till 18 seems worth it! we are using cbr.com

nina - Wednesday, 12 Mar
We usually complain about living here because of all the tax money the government take not to mention the bad weather - maternity leave has just changed from April 2007 and I do feel very lucky!!

I work at an extremely busy hospital and am ready to go for sure. I do feel for you.

a pernial massage (this is kind of graphic) is a massage u give yourself in order to avoid an epesiotomy. You just massage the area where u may need to have the episiotomy, it is supposed to help stretch that area so it will stretch better during delivery and you will not rip!!

Bec32 - Monday, 10 Mar
are you totally getting ready and anxious?? I think I would be if I were you. You need me to do anything? let me know! I can be your go to girl with last minute items you need at the hospital and stuff. :)

jamiefaith - Monday, 10 Mar
I totally think i may be overdoing it on the hospital bag...but being that i didn't bring anything for myself the first time, and i was so uncomfortable becuase of that, i have to bring it all...Everything I use on a daily basis i am bringing.

thanks 4 the advice. I didnt expect to feel overwhelmed with everything. I like to know that im incharge all the time and I guess I felt what most ladies feel at some point. Such a lifechanging event, which im still feeling very uprooted about, but I do like a hefty challenge! I think that if I wasnt feeling so crook during this PG, Id probably enjoy everything about it and openly accept new obstacles. Im so jealous when I hear of people being so healthy and full of joy when they r pregnant. Ill be glad when the nausea and heatburn and tiredness go away!
cheers heaps again!

Hi, thanks a million for your reassuring comments on my page! You're right -- my mother actually said the same thing to me before -- that no matter WHAT stage your life is at, you're never completely ready to become a mother! It is just something you learn as you go along, and you're never really ready to give up your freedom and become totally responsible for such helpless beings! Your comment put things in perspective for me; made me realise that no matter what, everyone has the same fears no matter what stage their life is at when it happens! Thank you xx Hope all is well with you xx

Hey Dee - I know, I can't wait until May either. I am to the point of saying give me steriods and lets take this baby out. Oh I'm getting tire. It wouldn't be so bad but I'm not sleeping well and working 40 hours in a fast pace job is running me down! Along with the diabetic diet they have me on. I am going to try to get some good belly pics of me on today. It really defies gravity, how it just stick out, you know!
You feeling okay?
I like that name Max btw. I'm thinking of nameing mine Asher and calling him Ash for short. I get mixed reviews on it - some love it and some hate it but I was looking for something different.

Thanks so much for you prayers! I truly do believe that God had a hand in this!

about the showering, its great, you ususally have a shower to deal with your contractions cuz the water's soo nice and warm, it relaxes tensed muscles i would have loved to have a tub but the hospital here doesn't have it, oh if you have back contractions the showers the way to go

amberd - Wednesday, 5 Mar
Hey congrats on your baby I was commenting on the whole shower deal I am not sure I took one b4 I went to the hospital after my water broke but when I got there they would not let me out of the bed for anything!! Even to pee and plus with the pain meds I was knocked out cold but i guess everyone is diffrent and every hospital??

tnrosebud - Wednesday, 5 Mar
Hi. When I had my little girl, I used both the shower and the bath. I intended on a water birth, but after an hour of pushing I finished birthing on the bed. The warmth is a geat distraction / relief from the pain.

lilmomma - Wednesday, 5 Mar
It is very normal to take a warm bath or shower while in labor. I think the hot water helps with the labor pains and relieves some of the tension. If you have pain medication (epidural or through an IV) they will not let you get in the water.

Mirandab311 - Wednesday, 5 Mar
I have had friends take showers during labor to ease the pain of contractions. It all depends on whether or not your water broke too. Taking a bath could cause infection, so the shower would be the only option. You get SO hot while laboring and very sweaty, so it sounds GREAT to me!

tawnytiger4 - Wednesday, 5 Mar
with my 1st 2 nobody ever mentioned showering while in labor -- but that was a long time ago and a lot has changed- but Ive heard of water births -- this child birth class the video showed ladies taking warm shower during labor to releive contractions????

brandi0881 - Wednesday, 5 Mar
First I wanna say your baby bump is sooo cute!! And I have watched the show 'A Baby Story' and other delivery shows where women actually give birth under water. They sit in the tub the whole time they are in labor. The warm water is supposed to relax the muscles and make the contractions much more bearable. A lot of these women swear by water deliveries. It is supposed to be totally safe as someone is there to pull the baby above water as soon as he or she comes out!

dixiegreen - Wednesday, 5 Mar
Hey Dee, I am also due on 3 May and having a boy. Your belly looks great! I need to get some pic of me on mine. How much weight have you gain to date? I'm up about 55 lbs -- all in my face I think!
Dixie

stormrae20 - Wednesday, 5 Mar
Hi, congrats on the pregnancy i have a funny feeling you are having a boy. I also cannot think of baby names, the poor baby will get here and have no name for awhile, hopefully we all settle with a name b4 they arrive, best of luck

brandymomof2 - Sunday, 2 Mar

I know what your boss means about the juicing room lol.... ever watch Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory? the girl violet chews that gum and blows up. Willy tells the oompa loompas to take her to the juicing room to drain all the juice out of her... okay I have 4 year old hehe think I've watched too many kids movie lol
