Hello all, My name is Renae. I'm 21 years old and this is my first pregnancy and have had a very good pregnancy so far, not really any complications. I am very excited to be having a baby. I really didn't expect to be having a baby already in my life but I can definately say that its not a regret. I just always figured it would be a couple more years down the road before I got pregnant and became a mommy. My boyfriend Billy and I haven't been together for very long, just a little over 9 months. I however know that he is the one for me, he is the perfect boyfriend, so sweet and caring and I know he will be a great dad and I can't wait to start our family! We both threw caution to the wind and here we are 7 months later and were expecting a baby! We can't be happier:D
Week 6: Well I just found out that i'm pregnant! I took 2 home pregnancy tests, one test one day when I got off of work, which came back positive instantly! The other test I took the next morning when I knew my urine would be really concentrated and of course that test came back positive as well! The funny thing is my boyfriend is the one that asked me if I got my "monthly friend" in which case I told him no, so he was the one that wanted me to go get the home pregnancy tests. He was very excited when he found out, that both the tests came back positive. The next day just to be safe we went to planned parenthood to find out for sure if I was actually pregnant and I was. We estimated that I was about 6 weeks along! After we were completely sure that we were having a baby we told our parents:D They were happy and shocked....
Week 8: We met with a doctor, who my friend recommended because she said he was an exceptional doctor and that he really listened met all of her needs as a doctor and took good care of her son. We met with this doctor and decided that we also liked him and that we wanted him as our doctor through out the whole pregnancy, delivery, and also being the primary doctor for all 3 of us. He started me on prenatal vitamins right away, and sceduled me for my next appointment at 10 weeks. Everything seemed to be going good, the prentatal pills made me sick once and a while which was kind of expected. Other then that I was peeing alot and sleeping alot. Thank god Billy was there to take care of me!
Week 10: I have been pretty nauseus unless I eat so I have been piging out. We went to see the doctor for the first "official" visit which meant that I had to be inspected from head to toe! Not fun! The best part of the appointment was that we got to hear the heartbeat which was totally amazing, its so indiscribable and incredible. I was crying and laughing at the same time because it was so overwhelming and so REAL for the first time! It was the best, I could have listened to that little heartbeat all day long! The beats per minute he extimated to be around 164.
Week 13: Our first ultrasound!! This ultrasound was to tell how big the baby was and to see if the due dates that we had come up with was pretty close to what the baby measured. The original due date was June 28th but the doctor moved it to June 22. This was the best thing to look at, I kept laughing everytime baby would kick or move and let me tell ya baby was very very active, bouncing around, flipping around, and kicking quite a bit! The sonogram technician said baby wieghted approximatley 2 ounces and the heartbeat was 167bpm. We walked out of the ultrasound with big hopes and 11 sonogam pictures to look at. It was an awesome day!
Week 16: I love to eat pickles, potato chips, and cookies with milk, nummy! I can definately tell a difference in how sleepy I once was and how energetic I am now. Big difference! Well I went to the doctor and found out I have a bladder infection that will not go away so for the remainder of my pregnancy doc wants me to take an antibiotic. He said that I have a lazy kidney and it doesn't send signals saying that I have one. No burning or backace, nothing! Bummer just another pill I have to choke down now!
Week 18: I swear I have had heartburn ALL day...YUCK! I have been having alot of belly pain, hopefully from a growing uterus and nothing else. So far I have to say the 2nd trimester is exceptionally well! I'm not so dang tired, I actually have some energy!
Week: 20 Went to the Dr. appointment today and everything seemed fine. We listenend to the heartbeat which was about 150 beats per minute. Good news, good news....we got to schedule our ultrasound to try and see what the gender of our little one is! I can't wait!
Week 21Valentines Day<3 : Valentines Day and we went to get our second ultrasound! I had to work the night shift and our appointment was at 0800a.m. so hopefully the lil turkey will be in the right spot or do alot of movin around. We had an intern start out and get all the measurements that were needed and she just couldn't find the right postion to see the geneder. Baby was about 13 oz. and very active. Baby didn't really want to cooperate so the technician had me lay on my right side to see if that would help. Well needless to say it helped and here we are with a little boy growing inside of me!!! Yey i'm excited, we both wanted a boy!
Week 22: Billy and I were getting a little frisky and doing our thing so we decided we'd try a new position which didn't work all that well in the end because I started to bleed, and boy was I freaking out, and shaking....whoa! I immediately called my doctor and got an 'on call' nurse who told me I should come in to get checked out to make sure that everything ok. She told me to check in at the Emergency Room desk and they would send me to Labor and Delivery, which they did. They did an ultrasound once again to make sure that placenta wasn't detatching. The doctor came in an examined me and he said that I had a scratch on my cervix which was causing the bleeding:(. Then he proceeded to tell us that we had to be on a sex probation for 4-6 weeks to make sure it was healing!! AHH!
Week 24: We went to our Dr. for our routine check-up and thank god he said that we could abolish the sex probation period and have our fun again! Needless to say we never made it the full 2 weeks which could have been bad for the baby but luckily it wasn't! My back has been hurting me SUPER BAD i can barely sleep sometimes:( Dr. said to up my dose of my antibiotic because I probably had a bladder infection again! Otherwise the little guy is very active and always movin about especially at night.
