Congratulations!!!

linnzi - Wednesday, 23 July
i took both tests on a wed and had the results monday. - so about 3 days. i'll cross my fingers for you!

linnzi - Monday, 21 July
did i see that u had a 3 hour scheduled? i hope it turns out well for u. try not to worry too much - i had 2 3 hour tests and passed bothy. they are not too bad - just annoying. Plus my dr told me it was very common for women to fail the 1 hour, but most do really well on the 3 hour.

I just found out that I have Gestational Diabetes and my reading for the one hour test was only 131! When I took the 3 hour test they said 2 of my numbers were elevated so, they are saying I have Gestational Diabetes. I was so upset I cried! I never expected that! But, the nurse said not to get upset it is very controllable & I'm getting better with it (just miss the sweets - it was all I was craving!). I test my blood 4 times a day & will see a nutritionist on Monday & take a Diabetes class on Tuesday. They actually want you to eat carbs (complex) - rice, pasta, whole wheat bread...Hope you pass your 3 hour but, if you don't it really isn't the end of the world - you'll just have to watch your diet for 8 weeks - at least it's not forever!

after i failed my 3 hour test i had to meet with a dietician to learn what kinds of things i could and should eat from that point on. and what sort of exercise i should be doing. so, they put me on a diet - super easy to follow - and i had to prick my finger 4x per day. after each meal i take a 10 minute walk if possible. after two weeks my numbers looked so great they said i only have to prick my finger 2x per day and check in with them only if i see a change in my numbers (the further into pregnancy you get the harder it can be to manage for some). besides my cravings for fruit and juice it has really been pretty easy for me to manage. i know there are some that have more difficulties though. feel free to ask me more questions if you fail your 3-hour...i'll keep my fingers crossed that you pass though!

My sugar level for the 1 hour test was 168. I was in total shock. This meant I had to complete the 3 hour test. For two days prior to my 3 hour test, I took a tablespoon of Organic Apple Cider Vingar (Braggs) in a half cup of water. My test results came back fine. Do you research online and see how taking Apple Cider everyday can help your overall health.

she told me i had early stage gestational hypertension. I guess the only treatment is bed rest - but of course now my blood pressure is totally perfect. So i guess its just wait and see. But I am sooooo bored! are you on bedrest?

Yeah I have never had throwing up at the end with any of my other pregnancies.... I have been having some trouble with pre-term labor, and am on medicine... I threw up four times yesterday morning. I looked up online and there is a thing called pre labor vomiting... I thought I was leaking fluids last night so made a trip to L&D. I am dialated to 1, which is not a big deal! But not to be gross but the fluid I was leaking was actually from me loosing my mucus plug. They say you leak more mucus because it is trying to fill that back in... Weird I know but it was scary none the less... So they scheduled me for an ultra sound for today just to check my fluid and everything looked great.... I feel great today and am getting ready to clean and do laundry... I have not had any contractions today, which is wondeful because I have been having tons of them.... How are things going for you? Hope everything is going good!

Hi, I have been having the same issue with the braxton hicks and I guess that the second pregnancies that they can be more uncomfortable. Obviously not what I wanted to hear........you either Im sure.

I am interested. What do you want for them? I don't heat the bottles and used them with my other two and they had no colic so plan on using them again. The ones that you are talking about that look almost exactly alike, but are BPA free are WAY too expensive.

kzbaby - Friday, 27 June
It was actually a CPC (choroid plexus cyst). Apparently they are extremely common and >90% of the time they resolve themselves. But, yes, I was so difficult and scary dealing with the uncertainty

Hey just a follow up on the breast pump... you said to go with the manual Avent. Which bottles will you be using now? Which nipples are you going with too? I'm completely clueless at all this!

3rdtymeround - Monday, 23 June
Don't toss the AVENT if they are new I would love to take them. I was told they are fine and plan on using them with this one. I used them with my other two children in the last 5 yrs and they had no problems. Before you just throw out new bottles send them my way :-)
