I have had a rough 1st trimester compaired to my other pregnancy. I know it was 11 years ago but still. I had an u/s already (7 weeks) cause I was having problems with cramping and went to the ER. I was half expecting it to be a tubal pregnancy. It wasn't, the baby is there, heart beating and all!!! I was quite relieved, Drs say I am looking good but I just hate the waiting to hit your second trimester. I was found to have a bacterial infection, which was causing the cramping, been on antibiotics for 7 days and feel better...I haven't been dealing with too much morning sickness...and least the kind that really makes you blow chunks.Of course the exhaustion of pregnancy has hit hard. Having a little one around will be rough but the timing couldn't be more perfect. The baby will be born around when my daughter starts summer break, so I can be home with both of them. Nice bonding time. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that everything keeps on moving along....

Went to the Dr today. I have been having some major cramping and back pain. I was told all was good. Baby looked good, heartbeat 169bpm. He said my uterus is tipped and curved back and it is putting pressure on my back, should get better as I get farther along. The cramping might be from the scar tissue(from my previous c-section) pulling as my uterus grows or the cyst on my ovary...All in all they say everything is normal...which sounds good to me. Anything for a happy healthy babe...awe...

14 weeks and all is going good...been a little sore with pulling and stretching...but thats how it goes...Waiting to feel those first flutters.......Next obgyn appt is 12/05 hoping I will maybe get another ultra sound...we will see....

Had a Dr appt today..Kay had school off cause of a snow storm so I was excited to bring her with...she was disappointed cause she was ready to get in the snow..We heard the heartbeat again 161bpm..all looks good...
Dr says I am 15 weeks and everything is right where it should be...he showed me where my uterus is, a few inches below my belly button...its crazy...no movement yet...he told me that with my size I should be really showing in a month or so...I had blood drawn for the triple screen, it will be a week wait for the results..just trying not to worry...We are going in on the 21st for an ultrasound to just check out the baby and see if it will give up whether it is a girl or a boy...I feel like this pregnancy is really flying along, hopefully I continue to feel that way....

I found myself at the doctor again today. Over the weekend I was having really bad shooting,lasting pains in my groin, one night I couldn't even bend over and take my pants off...It slowly got better but as of today I was still uncomfortable...I don't work on Mondays so figured I would just stop in for a check. Baby's heart rate was 151bpm, it took the nurse a few attempts to find the heart beat-made me nervous. So doc says that I have another infection and that my uterus seems stuck-tough to move, so he thinks I have a lot of scar tissue that my uterus is ripping free from...Everything else looks good---I understand that I will just be in pain for however long it takes for the tissue to let go but I thought that there was something else contributing to the pain(infection)...Back on antibiotics and the doc persisted that I take a script for darvocet----man I could never get a doc to give me pain meds for anything but I get pregnant and a dr's are throwing them at me...ahhahahah...anyway he assures me not to worry and not to let the pain get to bad...again he thinks it will get worse before it gets better...but I am fine with the pain as long as everything else is good to go...hopefully I will make it to my next appt...12/20...

I finally got the call from the doctors office with the results of the triple screen. They are normal. I can't explain how relieved I am that the results are normal. I feel like I can really start to get into this pregnancy and get ready for the months to come. Now all I need is to feel the little gummy bear wiggle around...

I think its alive!!! Gummy bear has been swishing around in my belly today...It feels different than with my first pregnancy but I am pretty sure thats what it is!!!! I am so excited...

We went for our ultrasound and dr appt today...about 17 weeks

.I went in first and she was checking out the baby...it was so cool cause it was kicking and moving around...one of the kicks I saw on the ultrasound I totally felt!!! strong little bugger for only weighing 5oz....I was so exciting to spend so much time looking at all the parts of the baby...all arms legs hands and feet are there....Then she grabbed my daughter and DH from the waiting room...She gave them a brief of the baby, the baby was now sitting indian style and she couldn't really see the goods...but she had gotten a picture earlier that lead her to believe she saw a penis!!!! So not for sure but she said she thinks there might be something hanging there...I feel its a boy so this just confirms my feelings...but we go back in three weeks to check it out again...I can't wait, I am so happy they didn't know for sure so we get to see the little guy again so soon....Next appt is 1/4/08...Oh dr said all looks good baby is growing right on time and I and baby are exactly were we should be.Heartbeat I think they said was 152..he told me that I hadn't gained much weight- but that it wasn't a big deal cause all looked good...so I guess I can munch xmas cookies...

I am so excited, I feel so blessed to be able to be a mama to the best little girl and now a little guy....
Eli is looking good...he is about 10 oz, his heart rate was 152 bpm...He was quite active in the ultrasound today....My mother in law was there as was Kyle, everything is were it should be and coming along well..Next appt is 1/29...we won't see Eli again till 30 weeks when they do the 3d ultrasound!!!

So I am 20 weeks today!!!! Half way through...I can't believe how fast these last 20 weeks have gone by...I am still so comfortable in my clothes...Eli is an active baby, sometimes his kicks are so strong that Kyle can feel them if I tell him to but his hand on my tummy...We leave for the keys next week and I was hoping to have a little more of a belly to flaunt in my bathing suit..(less boobs of course) but I will take escaping the back pain for as long as I can....I have random food cravings...the last one was life cereal...I guess that one isn't to odd...and at least its healthy...I so can't wait to hold this little guy in my arms...we are getting really excited!!!

Went to the Dr again today....figured I might have another infection...and I do...ga!!! Dr says its normal....ba-antibiotics again....at least I got to hear the heartbeat again 155bpm...little bugger is about 12 oz says Doc..like a little can of coke in my belly kicking around...Eli is breech so his kicks are so low...Everything looks good so we will treat the infection and I am good to go till next time...bahaha...

I am now pretty much in maternity pants...I can still wear some of my t-shirts with a long tank top underneath them...I had a check up at the doc on 1/25. I have a bladder infection now..woohoo...I think this will be never ending...might as well get used to it...Eli's heart rate was 155bpm...he has been moving around like a mad man!!! He is still breech so my bladder is not to fond of him....he is already trouble....He will kick and move for Kyle when he touches my belly and we can now hear his heart beat on a stethscope(sp?)...Now on to working on the birth plan...

So I hadn't really felt Eli kicking for about 24 hours...there was marked decrease in fetal movement...I tried not to stress it...I had horrible serious period like cramps all day and my back was screaming...not a big deal..I took some tylenol and tried not to think about it...I figured if after I ate dinner and laid down and he still wasn't kicking around we would go down to labor and delivery to check things out...I kinda just figured he moved positions or something....So after laying down for about an hour and nothing we headed to the hospital...They found his heartbeat 155bpm...and tracked his movements...he was moving alright, I just couldn't feel him, I think he turned around or something.... All was good we headed home in such a better mood then traveling there...The nurses and my doc are so good to me...they make me not feel like the crazy lady...I just worry like any mom would...but that visit made my hubby and I sleep a lot better than wondering if all is okay...

Woo Hoo!!! 24 weeks...I had a doctor appt on 2/07/2008 all is going well...My uterus measured 24 weeks, I have gained 17 pounds, Eli's heart rate was 147bpm, my cervix is long and closed, dr mentioned "this baby isn't coming anytime soon" good...I still have crazy cramps and back ache but I guess its all normal....Work was really tough this week...I just get so much more tired than I used too...I think its the shift in my stance and the extra weight on my feet...Doctor says I should feel fetal movement everyday, if I don't to stop in to labor and delivery. I just can't wait to hold my little Elijah...mmmmm and smell him...

Went to the Dr appt today...Had blood drawn for the glucose test..mmmmm yummy....Dr said I am right on target with weight and baby growth. Eli's heart beat was 146 bpm, dr said he is probally about 2 1/2 pounds!!! We made our appointment for the 3d ultrasound on March 24th. I can't wait!!! My parents will be in town so it will make it extra special..

Eli has found my ribs....yeah....he woke me up last night sticking his toes into the ribs...well I see this as a positive sign that
A. He will not be breech forever cause he has been kicking all over the place...sometimes down real low and now real high
B. He is a happy fetus.

Went in to the Dr office today cause I was pretty sure I had another infection...wow what a surprise I do...They put me on the monitor to check for contractions...I could tell the last 24 hours or so he was breech but once they put the monitor on he was head down and kicking like crazy...I had to push this button everytime I felt movement...it was hard to keep up with him...it was like he knew he was on show....Everything looks good...next week is our 3d ultrasound...I am getting really excited for it...

Had my appointment for another U/S and possible 3d scan on Monday the 24th. My mom was in town so she came along...Good news...Eli has flipped...he is now head down which is super excellent...Dr seems to think he should stay that way...During the whole scan he kept his hands in his face so no 3d scan...but he was very willing to show off the goods...we have some nice 3d pictures of his sack and penis...stinker...I am not too bummed...I will see his face soon enough..Dr puts his weight at 3 pounds which is normal for 30 weeks, everything else looks good..They even found some tuffs of hair on his head...crazy...Hopefully he has Kyle's hair...Thats about it...I will go back in two weeks for another check...now time will keep creeping along..oh and of course...a belly shot

32 Weeks!!! I haven't gotten past this point, Kay was born at 31 1/2 weeks..I am excited to see how big the belly really can get...so far I am really comfortable and feeling good...tired, I nap when ever I can but I have been trying to stay active, bike riding, walking, swimming and yoga...I believe the activity and the fact that I can get amazing sleep have helped me feel so great...oh and of course the Chiropractor has relieved all my back discomforts (last pregnancy I would cry at night cause my lower back hurt so damn bad)....I think Eli had hiccups the other morning...it was the weirds sensation...he is getting cramped in there....sometimes he freaks me out when he suddenly moves and kicks his leg out...strong little bugger...His room is coming along...I am hoping to have the crib put together monday...We are all so eager to meet him...but we still have a lot of waiting and work to do till that day comes...We started Bradley classes last week and I love them...I am so wishing for a natural uncomplicated labor and delivery...

At my DR appt on Tuesday I was measuring 34 weeks!!! It made me feel alittle better cause I get sick of everyone telling me how small I am...I guess people always picture preggo woman huge and nasty...I get tired of telling people that I have a long toros and the baby is just fine...So to find out that my uterus is bigger than expected to be put some of the crazy thoughts to ease....I can tell he has gotten quite cramped in there...no more swift kicks...he does more stretching and shifting...His heart rate was 155 I have gained 30 pounds!!! I must add that I don't feel like a fat uncomfortable blob like I did with Kay. I think my body has gained what it needs to gain the right way...I walk and swim and I know just being a hairstylist is exercise....plus we have the -longest- flight of stairs to the color room at work I climb those many times a day....All in all I feel good and am for the most part loving my belly...My daughter commented yesterday on how she wishes he was here already so she could see him and touch his little feet...awe...nobody could wish that more than me...I will be very ready to have my body back...but he needs to cook just a little longer...

34 weeks....all is good, going to the Dr every week from here on out. Very much looking forward to getting Eli out into the world...

Had my weekly Dr appt today. Group B test came out positive, kinda sucks..but I guess all I will have to endure will be some antibiotics during labor. He checked me and I am 50% effaced and said he could get a finger tip in my cervix but it is still closed...(its so weird to talk about my cervix like it is a car in the shop) Eli has dropped and has his little (or big) head right up against my cervix, right where it needs to be to finally get him out of my belly. Having some bloody show after my appt today..freaked me out cause I am still grasping the fact that there will be a new little person in our lives...its all too crazy!! So I ran out and picked up some things I still really needed before he makes his grand entrance. I am real crampy today and am happy that it was slow at work, now I am home in my pj pants and plan not to do much but hang out with the daughter and hubby....and of course I am not making dinner...

Had my last ultrasound of this pregnancy of course he wasn't gonna show off his face. Still had his hands in the way...stinker...we got an idea of his approx weight- 6 pounds 8 oz...right on target for 37 weeks. The tech hands us yet another picture of his penis and scrotum.(I have so many of this its starting to get scary) Other than that everything is moving along...just waiting for something to start happening...I am tired and can't wait to hold this little guy and actually see his face....

At our 39 week dr appt today it was confirmed that I lost my mucous plug (on Saturday) and was dilating. I have been cramping all morning and had thought that I might be leaking fluid...An unexpected ultrasound later where he actually let us see his face!!!! (both of us almost started crying...he was so damn cute) Fluid levels are good and I was hooked up to the monitor, I am having some decent contractions but they aren't regular...gah....
So now we wait...got some of the last of the baby stuff we needed (thanks to my parental units...awe) I am hoping to go into labor and have this little man a little early....
