“There is no way to be a perfect mother, and a million ways to be a good one” - Jill Churchill

I am 40 and pregnant for the third time. I have had two previous miscarriages, so I am hoping and praying that the third time will be a charm! I work as a nanny, and can't wait to have my own child! I would love to hear from anyone, especially those who are going to be older Moms. Congratulations to all of you!

Hi there. They make special paint with no harmful fumes specially made for preggy ladies. So you can use it anytime in pregnancy. Also, you may want to consider doing it sooner as once you get larger, you may not want to do much - especially with that added baby weight and backpain. We did ours early, and I painted murals about two months ago - I figured I wouldn't feel like being on my feet later in the pregnancy. Good luck! ~Tania =) xoxo

sorry its been so long in me writing you back, i have been so lazy and not uploaded my ultrasound picture that shows its definitely a girl. i will explain though, with a boy it looks like a turtle is sitting between the babies legs, with a girl it looks like three lines. If you put your pinky fingers side by side, and cut them in half, thats what it looks like. Sometimes it may look like they could be the little boys' parts (if you arent familiar with what boy parts on the ultrasound look like)......but once you see boy parts, its no mistaking! if you see a line at all, that usually means a girl. Boy parts dont really have lines, just a turtle shell with a little turtle head sticking out! hope this helps, and sorry for the delay. i will post my pic as soon as i can. thanks! amber :)

Thanks for the congrats. Work went better today, not as much backache. I moved around more today which seemed to help. I know what you mean about worry about this one too after a miscarriage. I was so worried at first that I had a hard time being excited about being pregnant. I was scared so for long. Now I'm feeling my lil fella move more and more and I'm just so excited.

Aww sorry to make u cry but yes they def. Will never be lost from us, just gone for awhile, sometimes it hurts me when people say im expecting my 2nd or your gona be a mommy of 2, things like that because to me he was and still is my 2nd baby and this is now my 3rd! Same with you im sure?, but I know its hard for people to understand it still bothers me sometimes though, my hubby really makes an attempt when someone asks him something to point out the fact that no this is our third but sometimes people don't know what to say or I feel maybe they think we are fishing for pitty but its certainly not like that, I duno for some reasons its been harder these past few weeks, everything makes me think about him..I know it will never go away but I sure hope it gets easier to remember him with a smile instead of a tear..well anyway you have a great weekend too

Congrats to you too. We are going to find out on Thursday. I got outvoted. My other 2 kids and hubby voted that they wanted to know and I was the odd man out. I didn't find out with the other two. I am glad this time and excited, I am having problems finding gender neutral stuff. I found out I was pregnant 2 days after my 40th birthday. Wow what a gift! I keep thinking that I would want another after this one, so this one doesn't feel like an only child, so I am glad you mentioned your mom and her last one at 45, but I don't know if the doctor would let me have 4 c-sections. Stuff to think about.

I'm walking and I find I get short of breath and need to sit down and have a rest.

I don't mind answering questions at all. I had spotting at 16 weeks and went to the ER, the ultrasound showed fetal demise at 12 weeks. They sent me home to wait it out but I finally had a D&C several days later.
I would imagine that it isn't any easier to lose a baby at 5 or 7 weeks than it is at 12 or 16. Either way it's still a loss

youngmamiof3 - Saturday, 21 June
Yea im going to talk to him next week at my apoitment..and CONGRATS!! To you, im so sorry to hear about your losses, I had such a hard time dealing with one I couldn't imagine going through that more then once although I expect that since I've had one, im going to eventually end up with another so I know from now on everytime I get pregnant is going to be a big worry fest :[ but thank god we made it this far and now feeling them kick everyday gives so much reasurance :]...anyway thanks about the name, I thought of kyla too its real cute but I knew someone named that that I wasn't very fond of so everytime I hear it I think of her :| but its still a cute name, she just ruined it for me lol ..well anyway I wish u all the best and I know for me anyway in a way losing my baby made me more able to live life without always worry about what is gona happen because I know when my time comes there's a very special little boy waiting for me on the other side
