my husband and i got married in June '07. we knew we wanted kids and wanted to started pretty quickly, considering we want 6 kids total, so we decided to leave it up to the Lord. so we weren't trying to conceive, but we also weren't trying to not conceive. then at the end of feburary, when i was supposed to have my AF(which run about 48 days apart), it didn't come..the pregnancy test said negative, but still no AF. i took another HPT the other day and saw the tinniest bit of line, but i'm still not sure if that counts..

March 20, 2008 - AF is officially 3 weeks late, so i'll take another HPT within the next few days. no health insurance, so i'm at the mercy of the HPT's....hopefully one will be more gracious soon...

March 23, 2008 - BFN but AF is 3 week, 4 days late...this is so annoying...the state needs to hurry up and send us the insurance info..ugh, i hate dr's, that's why i was planning on getting a midwife..man..this sucks =(

March 24, 2008 - Well since there is no AF and the BFN yesterday, my husband and i decided that we would wait till the next time AF should come (April 15th) to see if i just skipped, and if i'm late on that period and we still haven't gotten a BFP, then we'll figure out a way to pay for blood test, or hopefully have figured out a way to have insurance by then. I know a lot of dr's want to wait on the blood test till you've missed your period twice, so might as well wait. In the mean time, I'm still gonna take my prenatals and watch my blood sugar real careful (i'm hyopglycemic and if I let it drop by not eating often, it can harm the baby), just incase I am pregnant, better to be safe than sorry, right? Anywho, maybe if I'm not, we'll get it this time, and by the 15th I will be ;-) the tryins fun anyways, haha..

March 25, 2008 - Well we got the midwife referral we have been waiting for, thank goodness, and she has a website, which was very helpful. I feel so much more at ease. I mean look at all the stuff she does: pre-pregnancy consultations; pregnancy confirmation; prenatal care; labor and delivery at your home or The Birthing Inn (Tacoma’s only freestanding birth center); breastfeeding support; and a full 6 weeks of postpartum care. So instead of having to go to the dr's if I'm late again, I can go to her, which is great news considering I'm scared out of my mind of dr's. I guess i didn't realize that midwives took care of all the same stuff as dr's. ohh i'm excited. We contacted her through her website and explained our situation, so now we're just waiting for a response =)

April 3, 2008 - Still no AF, 5 weeks late today. Still no BFP, although I'm not testing near as often cuz I just figure the hpts hate me..lol. We found affordable insurance and are going to apply for it when we get our next pay check and then set up an appointment with the midwife. I still feel like I'm pregnant, I had to get a bigger bra and looser pants yet I've only gain like 2 pounds over the last few weeks..anyways, I could go into the symptom list but that would take too long..so anyways, the long and the short of it is that I'm still pretty sure I'm pregnant..but we'll know for sure soon anyways and I'm not worrying as much about it, just living..it'll come in His timing so there's no reason to worry..

April 5, 2008 - Well, AF came about 3 hours after my post on the 3rd...5 weeks late, unbelievable...i feel a tad bit foolish, to say the least...

April 10, 2008 - So I'm definitely frustrated..i had a 3 day AF, that's it, 3 days! my AF are typically 6-7 days..what the crap? i try to just keep reasoning with myself, saying that my body is just being weird and i just had a short cycle, but we BD 2 days before AF came and i can't get the questions out of my head about what if that was implant bleeding or something weird like that..ugh, i'm just frustrated...and my temp still hasn't gone back down to what it normally is either..this is just dumb. i just want to have a family, is that too much to ask for?

May 15, 2008 - (Here's the update) Well, I decided last month that I needed to just calm down about all the baby stuff, cuz I know it'll come when it's the right time, not to mention, getting all stressed out about it will make it less likely to happen anyways. So my hubby and I are doing great, we just moved into a 2 bedroom apartment on the 27th and got a good reliable family car last month..not because we thought we were pregnant, just so that we are prepared for whenever it does happen, plus the car and apartment are nicer than the ones we had before and it's such a blessing to have nice things.
My hubby just celebrated his one year at his job, which is so awesome (he has 80 hours of vacation now, what a concept!!) and we are almost done with the first year of our internship. We've decided to continue on and do the second year, which will start in September, we get the summer off =)
We're still hoping to start our family soon, but we're not trying extra often or worrying ourselves about it, we're just enjoying being married..we celebrate our first year of marriage on June 1st!!!!

Girl, I am ok I guess. Anxious!! I had an appointment today...all is well! Baby's heart was beating very strongly and now it's only 27 days til I find out the sex!!! I can't wait to find out if you're preggo!!

I just read all your posts. i am seriously on my edge of my seat thinking is she pregnant or isn't she....how exciting and stressful at the same time. The pregnancy test I took was digital and typed out pregnant. They cost most, but I would look into that. It was so fast!! Plust I think I was only a few days pregnant. Just and idea. Please keep me posted.

I had a very faint line on the first HPT I took and that was not certain enough for me- so I went and got one of the digital read-out tests that uses the words 'pregnant' or 'not pregnant' on a digital screen. Also, local health departments and pregnancy support places do pregnancy tests for free and most cities have one if not both. But I hope that the conception is a success and you have a wonderful pregnancy and happy family!

I was not even 8 weeks along! But I did the same thing you are doing...asking everyone if a faint line means anything. And everyone told me that it doesn't matter if the line is faint...if it is there, it counts!! (Even the instructions that come with the tests tell you that!) It is more likely to get a false negative than a false positive anyway. Quit stressing!! You are probably pregnant!! Just give your body some time to build up a higher level of hsg so it will show up on the test better next time.

My positive line on my test was really really faint, but it was there...I saw the plus sign! But I doubted it too...! I tried to conceive for over 3 years so I didn't believe it. I took another test - a better one - and the lines came up within like 2 seconds! I know it's like totally heart stopping and scary and exciting and frustrating...but hang in there! When you know for sure, it's the best feeling in the freaking world!! Best of luck to you and your man!!!

If you see anything in the positive box, then you ahve a positive result. My best friend took a test and had the faint line in the positive box and both of us were looking and said 'naaaa, that doesn't mean anything' but come to actually read the instructions, it does mean something. Your Preggo is what it mean! I would actually buy a test not from a dollar store. That might be the problem. Good luck with everything. I hope you are preggo! Baby dust!

Faint lines do count ! As long as u see a line in the result window, then ur pregnant. The reason y it's faint could be due to the fact that yr HCG hormone isn't high yet coz that's what the tests measure to determine if ur pregnant or not. Try another test(First Response or Clear Blue) after a couple of days...and if the line gets darker...hallelujah ! All the best !

My cycles are also 48-52 days and I was at 6 weeks when I tested positive...I took a few with the faint line and then finally gave in and bought one of the digital clear blue ones which was very cool because there was no guessing...its really really really hard to be patient, believe me, I know but just hang in there and when that positive result comes your life will change forever :)

I was 6 weeks pregnant when I tested positive. btw...I took 3 pregnancy tests the day I found out, just to be sure...and all 3 of mine had the faintest line, you could barely see it at all. My sister's was the same way when she got pregnant.

that little bit of color where the positive should be counts! i took about 5 tests and the 1st 3 had so little color where the positive should be that i was squinting and holding it to the light. sure enough the last 2 were clear as day. what happened was i didnt have enough hcg to make it darker until about a week later. let me know the verdict lol

Hey why don't you go and get one of those pregnant or not pregnant clear blue and easy tests...the ones that actually say the words...that way you don't have to guess whether or not there is a line. If they show up negative, then I would go have a blood test done.

in reference to your last comment....a few friends of mine also got hpts from the dollar store and they did work the best plus they are only a dollar. My friend took an ept test and it was neg. 2 hours later took a dollar store test and it was postive. Needless to say nine months later...baby was here. Good luck!

I took hpt 3 days early and it was a faint line. I found the fastest accuracy test was one that I bought from dollar tree, it worked faster than the expensive name brand ones. Best of Luck to you.
