What a long weekend we had. Thursday was Wayne's first Christmas and was so much fun, he was a blast. He was so excited over the Thomas the train ride-on with track that his Grandma Tufts got him and all of the Christmas presents under the tree. He went to the train first which we had set up in our living room and did not know what to make of it, he was pointing and hollering. Then we brought him into the family room where the tree and gifts were, and again he was hollering and pointing to everything. After about two gifts he got the hang of it. Then by time his grandparents all came he was a pro at opening gifts. He got so many cool things. Then today was his first birthday :-) :-(. We celebrated today wthe my husbands parents, and yesterday with my parents, his godmother (my best friend) and my one brother leo and his wife and kids. Got to say yesterday ws a little better, he had his cousin Taryn who he played with all afternoon, and it was just a mellow and paeceful time. Today was a bit stressful and frustrating (we won't go into details).
I can not believe that my baby boy is already one year old, this year went by so fast. It is amazing how much he has devloped and grown, he has been walking since 9 1/2 months old and is getting a pretty good vocabulary now ( "bye, love you", "Ludwig", "bold boy", "up", "mommy", "daddy", "baba", "num nums). And waht a wonderful kid he is.
Still nursing him but planning to startt weaning gradually - gonna start with t he afternoon feeding. He eats alot too, and wants everything you have. Still does not sleep through the night though, mostly he gets up just once but sometimes twice and I have to nurse him back to sleep. He goes to bed around 7:30 - 8 and wakes up aroud 7:30 - 8.
I jus love and adore this child of mine so much.

Wayne is getting brave now, he'll just let go and walk on his own. It is so damn cute.

9-24-08
Wayne spent his first day away from mommy yesterday. He spent the day with his Aunt Joanne so mommy could sand the floors at the new house.

9-20-08
Wayne took his first 3 steps all by himself on Wednesday (9-17).
We finally closed on our first home Thursday and have begun our painting. Hopefully by next weekend we'll have the floors finished (sanded and finished) and we'll be ready to move in.

9-14-08
Wayne's first tooth finally popped through, he has been teething for about 3-4 months now.
Wayne say's mama clear as day, and has become quite attached to mommy wanting me always in his sight and to play with him, and he loves to exchange hugs and kisses.
He is really interested in other babies and kids, and likes to hug and kiss other babies, it is the funniest thing.
Wayne finally got a nickname, daddy actually came up with a while ago but it did not really click in until today, "bub rub" is the original and short version, "bub rub scratch" is the extended. These suit Wayne because when he sleeps he rubs mommy's arm and the bed, and he likes to scratch everything - we think he likes the different sounds it makes.

Wayne said his first word yesterday, "baby", and he's been repeating it all day.
He loves to walk pushing his walker and highchair. We take him outside and let him walk up the street with his walker, it is the cutest thing.
Ludwig plays with Wayne, he drops his toys for Wayne to get but when Wayne gets close Ludwig quickly picks it up and drops it again little distance away, Wayne gets mad sometimes but it is the funniest thing.

8-23-08
Wayne says "ma" now, yipeee. He also walks with his walker, it is so cute. Went to Friendly's today, Wayne had a french fry, some pickles cut up and some chicken.

8-18-08
Friday 8-15, Wayne went from the couch to the chair, a very short distance but the first actual step he took on his own. On Sunday he was able to walk pushing his walker pretty well. He pulls himself up to standing very well now and will stand and play for quite a while, it's funny because he is still so small it just doesn't look right.
Wayne waves bye bye, backwards, and he gives everyone kisses.
Wayne now goes to bed between 7:30 - 8:30 and wakes between 6:30 - 7:30, occasionally 8 a.m. He still wakes 2-3 times in the night to nurse, but he doesn't nurse long. Our sleeping arrangement is he sleeps with us but in his crib which is attached to our bed, it works pretty well, I have gotten a bit more sleep since we have started this arrangement, neither one of us fully wakes anymore. When he wakes up he immediately crawls over to me and snuggles, I love it.

8-12-08
Wayne pulls himself up on everything now, and he likes to climb on and over his doggy Ludwig. Today he pulled himself up on the highchair (in between, under the chair) and he started to walk pushing it, it was sooo funny. We got him one of those push toys and he, with our help, walks slowly behind it. His feet go a little weird yet, but he'll get the hang of it soon enough.
New food today, grapes, he loved them. I bit off the skin and gave him little chunks.

8-6-08
I am now introducing Wayne to formula, only when we are out and about or when I feel he did not nurse enough - his attention span is not very good, he don't set for very long.

7-25-08
Well Wayne has figured out how to put himself up to standing. It is unbelievable how he went from just being a baby to doing so much so quick. He also waves and kind of claps. And he is getting funnier and funnier every day. I just love him to death, I can't give him enough hugs and kisses. I absolutely love to cuddle with him, but I am afraid those days are coming to a close, he only likes to cuddle while nursing and when he is sleepy, he is always on the move now that he can crawl and climb.

7-20-08
Wayne's got it down now, he started crawling Friday and just this evening he held on to his bath tub and pulled himself up. It is so crazy how quickly he is growing and developing.

More news: Yesterday we bought our first house :-) We sign papers tomorrow and the closing date should be set for Sept 8th. We are so excited, and a little nervous.

7-15-08
We had Wayne's pictures done yesterday, they came out so cute - so cute that they are going to use some for display.
New developments: Wayne can now somewhat crawl, he gets around slowly and unsteadily, but he is getting the hang of it - he gets on his hands and knees and then sticks his but way up in the air and pushes off with his feet. Wayne also mastered getting himself to a sitting position , he puts himself somewhat on his side and pushes himself up.

7-2-08
Wayne had his 6 month physical today - and shots :-(. The doc said he is doing awesome. He is 18lbs 2oz and 27in. He said Ba Ba for the first time at the doc's, it was so cute. Doc say's that he is extremely advanced for his age, she said that he is doing what most 9 month olds do.
New things Wayne can do: he gets on his knees and rocks back and forth, he rolls all over the place, and he does the military crawl.

6-23-08
Wayne has figured out how to walk in his merry go round. He cruises around it pretty good, it's so funny.

6-20-08
Wayne has now mastered rolling over, back to tummy and tummy to back. He can also walk in his Bright Starts tropical Fun Around Play Station.

6-15-08
Wayne rolled all the way over for the first time today.

He has also become fascinated with the T.V. remote.

What Wayne can do now: he can sit by himself, he can grasp objects, throw them around, shake em and put them in his mouth, he can hold his bottle and his cups, he can roll from side to side, he can stand, he loves to jump, he gives kisses, tries to talk and pronounces Da Da, he tries to mimic you when you blow rasberries, stick your tongue out and other things, he smiles constantly and laughs often - he is very ticklish. He has also mastered making diaper changing time very difficult, he twists and turns.

Wayne has developed his own little personality now. He is mostly very happy, but does have a bad temper. He likes to be with both his mommy and daddy, but only wants mommy when he is tired or sick. He enjoys seeing other people but for only a short time. He seems to really like Grandma Tufts and Joanne ( the secretary at his daddy's work). When being held by daddy he will reach for mommy or vica versa. Wayne is very interested in his surroundings, he likes to watch everyone and everything and wants to touch and taste everything.

His favorite toys are his exersaucer and his jumparoo, and musical toys. He also really like his teething rings and his cloth book. He enjoys it when he is read to, he likes to feel the books and flip the pages. We will be getting him a new toy this week, it is a play station with an attached seat that allows baby to walk around the play table.

He enjoys T.V. and books. He watches Sesame street and It's a Big World.

Wayne is a very good eater, he has milk every 3-4 hours, cereal and fruit in the a.m. and p.m., veggies for dinner, and cereal again in the evening - and recently we have started to introduce meats with his veggies, so far he has had chicken & apples and pineapple glazed ham. He likes water and prune juice, and loves popcicles and ice cream (he only gets a little).

My favorite thing that Wayne does is he pulls my face into his and gives me kisses. One of my favorite things about him is that he is such a cuddle bug.

Wayne is now 5 months old and is18lbs 6oz, clothed.

Wayne had his 4 month physical yesterday, he is now 17lbs 1oz and 25in. I cannot believe how much he has developed already, he laughs out loud, puts everything he can grab into his mouth, rolls from side to side, eats jar food, talks all the time and much more - he is his own little person now.

We had our son baptized today. The ceremony was very nice.

My baby had his 3 month physical today, he is now 15lbs 10oz and 24in.

3-12-08
Wayne held onto and put into his mouth a toy for the first time 2 days ago, it was so exciting. I cannot believe how much he is doing already, he sits supported, has great control of his head and movements, he smiles constantly, and he talks so much. Also, he is doing great with cereal, he prefers the oatmeal, it must taste better. Wayne is also starting to sleep through the night, he slept 8 hrs 2 times this week.

2-28-08
Wayne had his 2nd month physical today, he is doing awesome, he is now 13lbs 10oz & 23.5 inches. I guess breast is best. His weight is in the 92nd percentile and his height is in the 75th. He had to get 3 shots today, my poor baby. The doc couldn't get over how alert and active he was and how well he holds himself. My husband and I decided that we will be starting him on cereal, once a day for now, he eats so much and he shows interest in food that we are eating.

My son had his one month physical today, he is 11lbs 3oz& 22 1/2 in, doc said he is growing very well, he is in the 75th - 80th percentile.

My birth story...

My baby boy, Wayne III, was born 1:04 a.m. Saturday 12-29-07. He was 8 lbs 13.4 oz and 20 inches long. He is gorgeous! I was at the hospital for 6:30 Friday a.m (8 days past my due date)., my water was broken at 8 a.m. and I was given pitocin. Contractions started coming on strong and frequent around 10 a.m.. I tried to do it without the epidural but decided to get it at 3p.m. -the contractions were too much, they were not even 2 min's apart. The epidural worked good for the better half until about 10 p.m., I started to feel pain in my back and the doc gave me a little more but I did not take the full dose because they said I may not be able to push. Well, I began pushing at 11 p.m. and felt everything, they had shut the epi off. I pushed for 2 hrs and 4 min's and had to have an episiotomy cuz he wasn't fitting. The doc who delivered my baby said that it was a good thing I got induced cuz if I did not baby would have been over 9 lbs and would not have come out that way. I am so glad this is all over and I have my sweet baby to hold - he is so precious. Also, my husband is was absolutely wonderful throughout the labor and delivery, he didn't miss a beat and he is already a wonderful father. I am so blessed to have this great family.
