Aww...I feel your pain. Well, what I do is kneel in the tub instead of sitting, cuz that would just be way too painful for me. I just hop in and get on my knees, then sit back a little so there's no pressure on the hemmis. After about 15 minutes my legs and feet start to fall asleep, but that's nothing compared to the hemmi pain. And make sure you don't put anything else in the water, like bubble bath or scented salts...strictly epsom salt. It always works for me...sometimes it takes a day or two for the relief, but it does work. I'm sorry it's not working for you. How long are you soaking for and how much salt are you putting in? I actually used an entire pint in one sitz bath before (lol) and that worked wonders for me!

Thank you for your advice, re: induction. I will discuss this further with my OB. He is an excellent OB, but also a very, very busy one, so you may be right, that it is more for his convenience than anything else!

I'm delivering at Emory Eastside in Snellville...not in Atlanta, but it's certainly not far. Which hospital do you go to?

yeah, let me know if you come up with anything. It would be really helpful. I may give my hospital a call in a bit if i get the energy

Hi there! Hopefully you're little one won't be too far away for you...or me either lol! I don't my little fella coming too early but I sure don't want to go over due. It'd be nice if he came around 39 wks-so in a couple weeks would be great. But I guess he'll come whenever he decides he's ready to enter our world. Hope you're feeling well : )

Yes it hurt. I scampered up the table about 3 feet (I was running from him on my back, ha ha) and I shouted a curse word sort of involuntarily and I said 'well if that doesn't send me into labor nothing will.' Doc had a chuckling grin on his face and said that my cervix was not very friendly. I did not see the humor. I wish I would have said 'yea, well imy cervix thinks the same of my doctor!' Anyway, I started bleeding as soon as I sat up and my crotch and lower abdomen have been sore all day today and I feel exhausted. I feel a bit violated. After all, I am a grown woman and the last thing I need is someone touching me, neverless performing a procedure on me, without my concent! Needless to say next week the pants stay on during my appointment!! By the way, they denied stripping my membranes, but I have no doubt that is what they did. I felt like he was in there up to his elbow!

I'm from 12 weeks but on my 4th pregnancy. Did it hurt when the dr did your exam? If so they probably stripped them. Usually the exam in uncomfortable but not painful. But having your membranes stripped IS slightly painful. Hope this helps.
