I was married on August 4, 2007 and found out I was pregnant at the end of August after an amazing honeymoon. Although we were a bit shocked to be pregnant so quickly, we are so excited. In December we learned that we were having a baby girl and have decided to name her Brooke. I can't wait to see who she looks like, what her personality is like...and mostly, I can't wait to be her mom. We are working on her nursery, and preparing the house for our baby. Because she is the first grandchild on my side and the first girl on my husband's side...everyone is really excited for Brooke's arrival. Each set of grandparents has actually set up a nursery in their house...all for one special baby! The other wonderful part is that I have 5 friends and my sister-in-law that are pregnant and due between February and June. My sister-in-law is actually due 6 days after me. Two babies (one boy and one girl) to add to the family in one week!!! It really has been a wonderful adventure (and I am sure it will only get better)!

Brooke Marie was born on May 6th at 8:34pm. She weighed 7lbs 5oz and was 21 inches long. We are totally in love!!!

Thank you! I am still in a bit of shock that he is here already. He was supposed to still be waiting two more weeks. All well he is healthy and here and so much fun! I will post pics as soon as I can get a jpg image instead of bmp image. I dont know how to change it. Keep me posted on you and what is happening.

Thank you on the comment about our nursery. We really like it too. I think it turned out really cute! I hope you get good news of progress soon and/or go into labor. I know you must be getting uncomfy. I am sure the nausea is due to being so tight and compact in there. You just kinda run out of room. I got to where I had to eat small meals more often. It seemed ridiculous and so draining to eat that often, but it worked otheewise I was miserable. Yes, I did think my Dr. wanted me to deliver early due to my high bp. I was very concerned and it just didnt improve until he made me go and check in. Then all of a sudden it was back down to normal range. How strange huh? I am glad it went the way it went. It worked out for the best for both of us. I hope you get to meet your little girl soon. Keep me posted.

I hope you did talk to your Dr. I hope they were understanding and allowed you to leave earlier. I couldnt have stayed any longer. I was supposed to go back to work this coming Monday for five days, but well we have other plans now. I went on break and was to have three weeks off. Well my Dr. ordered me not to go back, which was good. I delievered on Tuesday, April 15 at 8:35 am via c-section. It was best for everyone. They couldnt get my blood pressure to quit rising even with meds, so he made me check into the hospital on Monday. I didnt know at point which direction we were going. My Dr. came by on his lunch hour to check on me. He gave me a choice since checking in my blood pressure had normalized. I elected to trying going natural through induction. Well it didnt quite go that way, but it was so worth trying and I dont regret it. I hope you have happy baby news soon!

OurBabyBean0508 - Thursday, 17 April
I've had the same thing for about 5 days now. Sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, cough, chest pain & congestion. Boo hiss. lol I don't think there's anything you can do to make it go away any faster since the majority of OTC cold meds are off limits to us. I've been drinking sleepytime tea (it has spearmint in it for your sore throat), trying to get as much sleep as possible and using a vicks inhaler for my stuffy nose. If you have a humidifier that may help with your chest congestion. Good luck doll, hope you shake it before bubs arrives!

Hey there. I hope you got your wish of more progress at your last check up. I havent made anymore progress as of yet though. I am on twice weekly checks now. Dr. is keeping a close eye on me due to high bp. So far it is affecting me, but not the baby. Dr. said this week one way or another. I am fully expecting him to do a c-section just to be on the safe side.
I updated my page too. I posted pics of our nursery. Enjoy.

I had to laugh. I'm due the 2nd, too, and I was just telling myself for the hundreth time today that I have no reason to be impatient when it's only the 10th of April!

pgtchr3077 - Monday, 7 April
Hey there. I understand about the timing and such on the new site. I had a bit of trouble at first too. Well I went to the Dr. on Friday. I am starting to efface(thin out) too. He didnt mention anthing about dilating though. We shall see what tomorrow brings. I go again tomorrow(Monday), can you believe that? My Dr. is seeing me twice weekly now. He said at the last visit it should be this week or next at the most. He said I wont make it to my due date of May 2. I know my mom is sure hoping I will though as they will be on a cruise next week. All well. I am thrilled that things are progressing. I am feeling pretty good still. I am having some swelling and my BP has been high. I have had a headache for the past 4 days or so. Dr was a bit concerned and told me to go home and rest and prop my feet up, drink more water. I did, My hubby made sure of that. We are so much closer to finishing the nursery. I will try to get pics done tomorrow after I am done in there. Oh, I was supposed to go back to work for five days, April 21-April 25, after our regular three week break, but Dr. said it is a no go. He wont allow me to at this point. I am getting oh so very anxious. Today was my baby shower. I had a ton of fun. The preachers wife is the one who threw it and she did an awesome job. There were so many people there it was unreal. It was church family, mine and hubbys family, and friends. Well over 40 people. We received a lot of nice stuff. I got some duplicates, but that is okay. Not a problem. They had a bank set up at the shower and started out little ones piggy bank. He really scraped up, there was over $62.00 in it. We are going to start his savings account. They also had church members donate any amount the felt comfy with and they put small amounts in diapers. All the diapers were put in a gift bag. Her hubby wrote a poem to go with it and presented it to us. There was $175.00 in that one bag. How cool is that? It was a very cute idea. We made out like bandits at the shower. This little guy will not want for anything. Everyone was so very generous. We are so very blessed. I can only think of very few things we did not receive, and that wont be a big deal.
Yep, the internal exam was not comfy in the least, but it was good to get an ultrasound and get to peek at him again. He is about 6lbs 4 oz. I am so excited to be making progress. I hope to hear more news tomorrow. I hear you on the sleep not happening area. I am averaging 3-4 hours at most in my bed, the I have to get up and move. I usually end up in the recliner and may get a few more hours, but not usually. Keep me posted.

Yep, my leave replacement has been with me since last Thursday, so just about a week. I think he will be okay, but so far he has had it very easy. I asked for him to present a lesson before I leave and he will be doing so on Tuesday of next week. I am sure he will be fine. I gave him plenty of warning and let him take my TE and books home to get it all ready. I think he is a bit nervous. I cant believe you are working till April 30 if you are due May 2. I am due the same day and I am only scheduled to work till April 25. We shall see. I feel so very huge and I think he has dropped already. I hope to find out more tomorrow at my next appointment. I get what you said entirely. I have enjoyed being pregnant, but am getting a bit impatient to have my body back and get it into some semblance of shape again. Well keep in touch. I gotta go prop my feet they are swelling and so are my hands.

It is good that you realized that you were doing too much. I so far am hainging in there, still working/teaching. They did however already put the man who will be taking over for me in my classroom observing. He is a Kindergarden Assistant and has an Engineering degree. I am not completely satisfied with this choice, but I dont seem to have a choice myself. I feel as if they are trying to find a way to put him in the system as a teacher for next year under a waiver or some such. He also has bus duty every day in the morning and afternoon after school, so my entire class will be dismissed early at 2:40. I think that is a total waste of instruction time. I addressed these issues with my boss and he refuses to listen. I feel like what I say doesnt matter and no one cares. Sorry just had to vent. I am due to leave April 25, if I make it that far. I feel like this little guy is so very low arleady and is making me very uncomfortable. I have two more regular work weeks left and then we get out for Spring Break March 31-April 20. So I will only be back at work for five days maybe after break. I just keep telling myself I can make it. Each day is getting harder. Other than being exhausted nonstop, I am doing well. I am back to being able to sleep better for a while now. I just have uncomfy feeling low in my belly. At times I almost feel as if I cant walk. I am swelling some too by the time I get home I have no ankles. I will see what my Dr. says on Friday, March 21. I am sure he wont be too happy. Oh, and forget the just barely starting to pooch. I am definitely sticking out there. I feel huge. It was like I hit week 28 and here it all came. I cant believe it is week 33 already. We are still busy in our little guys room and daddy is busy painting. I am starting to feel it wont be ready, but he wont be in his room immediately anyway. He will be in a basinette in our room for a while. Oh, I got a great surprise yesterday at work. My coworkers planned a baby shower just for me and had it yesterday afternoon after early dismissal. It was very nice. I was surprised for sure, I knew they were planning something, but didnt know when. This little one will definitely not go naked. Well I best quit rambling, get this off to you and get off this thing. I have to get stuff done this weekend as ususal. I hope you are well. Keep in touch.

Thank you for your advice!

I understand the busy part. I cant believe you coach and teach. I am barely managing to teach, much less do much else. You are so brave to be doing so much. I knwo it must have done exactly that for you though, made the pregnancy go faster. I so aplogize. I get you and another lady on here confused, but I am not sure how. She is having twins and has been off work from teaching for months now. She is about to go crazy. Lucky you to have so much done already. We are still in the process. We are using a dresser we already have. I am hoping to convince my hubby to sand it down and stain itso it will be nicer. The crib was given to us and so was most everything. We have been so very blessed. I want a glider rocker, but can and will make do if we dont get one. We have used our room for company and storage, so I am still finding new places for things, but it is coming along slowly. We are going to put our little one in the pack and play bassinet in our room for a while and then graduate to the crib in his room. Your pic looks great. Enjoy. I am not brave enough to take one yet. I look funny. I still have a slight waist and I am pooching on either side(upper and lower). I just dont feel comfy taking that one. Maybe before it is all over it will even out a bit and I can do it. I have loved being pregnant as well, especially seeing as how I had almost given up hope all together. I am feeling pretty good, but so very tired. I dont sleep well and that makes work very difficult to manage. I am starting to get uncomfy and I certainly cant bend over to pick up something I dropped. I am so clumsy too. All well. Only at most 10 or so more weeks. I can hardly wait. Please stay in touch.

Congratulations! your nursery looks great!

I'm a high school teacher too... and, soon to be, first time mom... I'm only 15 weeks pregnant and am not showing at all... when did you start showing?

CarrieE - Saturday, 23 Feb
Yes...'Olivia' from Babies R Us is definitely the one we've been looking at! Yours looks so great so I'm pretty sure that what we'll end up with too! Our little princess' name will be Emma Grace. Can't wait to finally meet her!!

CarrieE - Saturday, 23 Feb
Love your bedding!!! Is that from Babies R Us? If so, I think that's the same one my husband and I are thinking of for our little Emma Grace. It's so cute and girly!!! Love it!!

amerie2304 - Saturday, 23 Feb
Hey there, do you have vacation time you can use? That's what I'm doing opposed to having to cut into my maternity leave. My job offers 3 month maternity leave and I have 4 weeks vacation for the year so I'm going to take two weeks of vacation before my due date and then start my maternity leave. So I'll actually be out for 3 1/2 months. I feel your pain though. I wish I could take a month off before my due date but I'll just have to settle for two weeks.

ourlovetoken - Saturday, 23 Feb
FirstTimeMom...I am having the same issue as you and I am only on week 25!!!
So far my plan is to not leave until the day of or a week early but with each coming week it seems to be getting harder and harder not to wanna be at home and be able to just rest.
Same as you I wanna be able to get paid for my full maternity leave and if I leave before the 'scheduled date' I might either get fired or not get paid at all...What's a girl to do....
Anyways, congrats on your little one and happy friday! :)

pgtchr3077 - Sunday, 17 Feb
Hey there. I havent heard from you in a while. I hope all is okay. Nice belly pic by the way. I am just barely starting to pooch finally. I know that comes from being big to begin with. At least I am starting to look pregnant instead of just big. I have only gained 6 lbs this far. I was initially concerned, but my Dr. reassured me it was fine. In my book I have only gained 2lbs due to the fact I lost 10 to begin with and am just now two over that. I love the name you picked out for your little one.

boogiebaby - Saturday, 2 Feb
Yeah I went to the doctor Thursday and she told me more than likely I'd have to do the IV meds too...sux cuz I really hate the way those things look, scares the crap outta me... but maybe I'll be in too much pain to notice lol

boogiebaby - Thursday, 31 Jan
Hi I was reading your post and I also have scoliosis and my back is always killing me and sometimes my chest too...I try to do the normal stretchs but they really don't seem to help either but I don't know if its an option for you but I do a few stretches in the shower hehe even though I'm always in there for so long it really eases my pain I guess the water pressure and the stretching & I also carry a pillow around and try to sit up str8; Yeah it sux to have it but I gotta deal with it I guess, my only concern is when it comes time for an epidural if needed will I be able to get one w/o comp.
