Hello and Congratulations to all Mummy's to be,

I am 13 weeks and 6 days pregnant today with my first bubba. My husband and I married in July and were expecting by September, we were very lucky to fall so quickly. So far the pregnancy has been a bit of a struggle as I have beenvery anaemic which makes me feel weak and tired constantly. I worried how this was affecting the baby but when we had our 12 week scan the little show off was doing head stands....glad someone has the energy!!

It will be nice to chat to other first time Mum's around the same due date and perhaps some more experienced Mummy's to reassure me that all is fine and I am suppossed to cry all the time....even though I'm not even sure why (blasted hormones!!)

Good Luck to you all, I hope you all have healthy, happy pregnancies, births and babies! x

12 Week Scan Pic - Next Scan Feb 5th!!

hey girl - thanks for replying to my post about those sharp pains. I'm glad others are experiencing them too and they are normal!! My doctor told me today that they are double staffing the L&D at the hospital tomorrow night due to the full moon. I usually don't believe in myths like this, but she assures me more women go into labor then... i'm excited to see what happens, hope labor goes well for you, keep me posted!!

Hey, I haven't been told about a 36 week scan, when was your last midwives appointment? I had the doctor at 31 weeks and now I don't have the midwife until 35... (should have been 34 but i couldn't do the ONE day they are in my surgery!) I have heard that they are starting to introduce more scans... I want one of them! It can only be a good thing to check how she/he is doing sizewise and just imagine what they will be able to see now in comparison to our 20 week ones! I'm going to ask about one of them, hope all goes well!!

I'm currently 32 weeks + 3 days and I have had scans done every 1 to 2 weeks throughout my pregnancy for various reasons. When I was 18 weeks the scan showed that baby was measuring a bit small and the docs are considering a form of dwarfism. However, I also have anemia and I do know that will cause the baby to be a little small, but not too much. My uterus is measuring right on target, but I know that my baby only weighs just over 2 pounds right now, which is due to the dwarfism. In your situation, I wouldn't worry too much as I mentioned, iron deficiency will cause the baby to be a little small. Good luck, hope all works out for you!!

here they see you at around 18 weeks to confirm pregnancy and due sate, then at about 28 weeks for "growth" but we all know it's to determine gender lol, but then they have you go to a 36 week one to check size and things like that. it's very common were i live. they want to check size to get an idea of how big he/she will be at birth. sometimes around here that 36 week ultrasound determines if the baby will be too big to deliver vaginally, it's like some already said, just be excited you'll get to see your little one again before you get to hold him/her. congrats and good luck!
