Sunday, 27 July I have been induced with both my babies because of GD. I had GREAT deliveries with both. I elected for the epidural for both and had a relatively painfree delivery with #1 and totally pain free with #2. It's totally up to you but don't let people scare you about inductions - they can go great!!! If you have a choice on induction dates I suggest a date you like!!

Friday, 25 July i would suggest that you insist that she let you make it at least until your due date. then, request an ultrasound to check on the baby, and especially on the size, so that you know what you're in for if you decide to wait. my doctor waits ten days past the due date before inducing, provided everything's okay with the baby..... angel222 -
Friday, 25 July I would NOT get induced!! I did with my first baby and it SLOWED everything down....never got past 4-5 cm and after 34 hours of trying....I ended up with a C-section. Everyone is different....you do what is right for you! Good luck to you!!! I'm due in 12 days! :) dala -
Friday, 25 July i wouldnt get induced if i were you just because your not even pass your due date. I totally understand and would agree with having it done if you were over. Good luck, newmommyj -
Friday, 25 July i'm actually in week 40. im 1 day overdue. my dr wont think about inducing till week 41. i have an induction set for the 31st, and even then, he has been scheduling me with extra appts so he can do as many sweeps as possible before then cuz he doesnt like inductions. if you're body isnt ready and you get induced, theres a chance of a c section that way. id see if you're dr will wait till you hit 41 weeks. its pure misery these last few weeks, but its better than a csection. it seems like in the states, drs are more willing to induce before the due date. here in canada, its not very often that they wil, even for babys size. noodle -
Friday, 25 July I did it and loved it but I was almost a 4 when I went in-they just gave me a "whiff" of pitocin (you can read my birth story)...AND this was my 5th baby-I think that can make a difference...but I've talked to some women who have had good exp. I think my doc said it has a lot to do with how ripe your cervix is too. IT's a hard decision; I agree. dasha -
Thursday, 24 July hey there. asked my doctor about the very same thing today, because it really hurts and had me a mite concerned, but apparently its totally normal...its our cervixes spasming to be ready to dilate (which isn't happening for me at all, even tho i've been having those "cramps" for a week and a half), and can also be ligaments around our pubic area freaking out because they're being stretched to hell and back....NOT COOL! Thursday, 10 July I'm like you regarding the cramp issue. Mine come and go daily and have been that way since week 35. I think it is normal and could be BH contractions. Most say they're not supposed to hurt, but sometimes mine do. Drinking lots of water helps me with this. sassybuttaphly -

Sunday, 29 June I'm feeling the same way... anytime I think it's a BH it's just him pushing one me. I also have a feeling I'm going late :( Best of luck to you! Laura Ward -
