Above Alexandra and Daddy - Picture taken June 2008

Above My Neily!

My Background and History -

Hello - I am 25 years old and from the UK. I live with my fiancee of 9 years and little girl, Alexandra who is two.I got pregnant with at 22, and I had a coil fitted internally, so my pregnancy was a bit of a surprise. At about 5 weeks pregnant I was rushed to hospital having period like cramping pains, after an examination the doctor removed my coil which was slowly pushing its way out of my body, hence the pain. He told me to go home and rest, but he thought I would probably miscarry over the weekend.Well the weekend came and went and there was no sign of any blood or any pain, on the monday I returned to the hospital where I had blood tests and an ultrasound. The ultrasound did not pick up on anything so I was sent away and asked to return for another scan 2 weeks later. I returned for my scan and laid on the bed, the sonographer put the jelly stuff on my stomach and after a long 5 minutes she turned the screen on the monitor to me and Neil. There it was on the screen a tiny dot, but it was beating. The sonographer explained that the beating was the heartbeat. Our little baby was there and its heart was beating, against all odds it was fighting for life.

Fast forward 9 months ...

I started in slow labour on the wednesday, and had my daughter in the hospital on the Saturday. I was in established labour for 15 hours, and once I was fully dilated t took me 28 minutes to push her out. I had gas and air and pethidine for the pain. When I got to 8 cms dilated I asked for an epidural which was administered but did not have chance to take effect because I had her soon after. After 9 months and a very happy, healthy pregnancy I gave birth to Alexandra on my due date the 4th February 2006 at 7.28am. She weighed 7lbs and 14ozs, and was totally perfect.

I am now pregnant again with my second child, and thought It would be nice to post pictures on here and a diary of my pregnancy over the weeks, I also would like to meet other people who are pregnant or trying to concieve.Baby dust and happiness to you all. I hope that this message finds you healthy and happy - wherever you are in the world! We are emigrating to Australia this year aswel so Im not only busy being pregnant but Im busy selling all our stuff for the big move!

WE ARE HAVING A BABY GIRL

Hey it is exciting just waiting to meet our babies. I can't wait, but I feel like I will not have Aiden until close to his due date.
The houseguests did put a bid on a condo but it is very uncertain when they will actually move out. I hope it is sooner than later.
I went for a nice long walk today but still have not really felt like anything is going to happen soon. It looks like we are all trying to get labor started!
Take care hun
Renee

Hey I am doing well. I feel like the baby has dropped some now so I am hoping I will have him soon. We finally got the last piece of furniture for the nursery today so it is all set up and ready to go. I am also all packed for the hospital. The only thing left to take care of is hopefully get the people living with us out as soon as they can. How have you been feeling? I can't believe we are so close now.
Talk to ya soon
Renee

Hey sweetie,

I am wishing you good luck and that things will go smooth and speedy for you from now.

I am still searching for the "perfect hospital" the one that offers all the service I am looking for, as well as being near by. I will let you know when I have settled for something.

Yesterday, we finally received the test results for one of the genetic deseases that is tested among the european jewish community - TAY SACHS. Don't know if you heard of it. Anyways, our result is clear, thank G'D :) So, it seems that our little man is a happy healthy baby :) But, I'm still not 100% calm. Well, I suppose that won't happen until I hold him in my arms and see with my own eyes that all is fine. G'D willing, it will be.

Have a great weekend and take it easy.

Love and best wishes from Temi and baby xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I did some research and found two other hospitals, a little further away. They are letting you have your baby stay with you 24 hours. The question is, will I have the time (once it starts) to drive for about 45 to 60 mins to get to the hospital of my choice??? Am I taking a risk too high by doing so??? The option of staying there before it starts would probably turn out a little expensive. I would have to check things out. Also, I wouldn't really like to be for too long in the hospital, never mind if before or after birth.

You are very forunate to have the NHS in the UK who promotes bonding with your child :)

The other reason, I am nervous about is if baby stays in the nursery instead with me, who tells me that they don't accidently switch my little one with another baby. I have heard a lot of this kind of stories have happened within the last few years. Maybe, I am just a little paranoid. But, there is nothing I can do against what I feel..

Congrats to having arrived at week 37. Hoping and praying for you that all goes well. Wishing you a smooth and speedy birth and a happy little pink bundle :)

Much love Temi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey hun :)

Thx for sharing with me some of the details of the 3rd trimester:) I am really hoping that your wish will come true and you will hold little happy and healthy Izzi in your arms very soon :)

Yesterday, Arie and I went to see one of the hospitals, we have considered for childbirth. I really liked the midwife, who explained everything to us and showed us the premisses. The whole place looks very professional and warm - basically all a woman could want. However, there is a big minus there, too. It is my big wish, to have my baby with me in my room, 24 hours. I don't wish to be separated from my child. But, because of an incidence that happened in the north of Israel, a few years ago, they don't offer the option anymore, to have the baby after 10pm with you in your room. Apparently, there was this woman that had the baby with her for 24 hours. At night she was feeding her baby and fell asleep, with the baby on her breast. Because she was so overtired from birth, she tilted forewards and thus suffercated her own child :( I was really shocked when I heared this story and am now a little confused as for what to do. Maybe, the hospital policy is right and I just have to accept it. On the other hand, how can sleep without my baby next to me??? I really don't know what to do. The thing is that apparently none of the hospitals here are offering the option anymore, to keep the baby with you, 24 hours... How are you handling the whole thing? What are the policies in the UK?

Have a smashing day!!

Much love Temi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey there, we are doing well. We had a fetal echo done yesterday, just to see that the little heart of my baby boy is ok. The doc said that all is perfect, thank G'D!!! So, we have all of the 2nd trimester examinations behind us. I am so grateful that all looks so good!!! Also, my little bunny is getting more and more active now :) Seems like he hardly rests :) Are you still feeling your little girl reguarely moving or has the moving space just gotten too small? Maybe you can tell me a little about the good and the bad stuff that I am heading for :) I am soo curious what the next trimester will be like.

Stay well and all best wishes to you and your loved ones,

Temi & baby boy(!?) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
