Above Alexandra and Daddy - Picture taken June 2008

Above My Neily!

My Background and History -

Hello - I am 25 years old and from the UK. I live with my fiancee of 9 years and little girl, Alexandra who is two.I got pregnant with at 22, and I had a coil fitted internally, so my pregnancy was a bit of a surprise. At about 5 weeks pregnant I was rushed to hospital having period like cramping pains, after an examination the doctor removed my coil which was slowly pushing its way out of my body, hence the pain. He told me to go home and rest, but he thought I would probably miscarry over the weekend.Well the weekend came and went and there was no sign of any blood or any pain, on the monday I returned to the hospital where I had blood tests and an ultrasound. The ultrasound did not pick up on anything so I was sent away and asked to return for another scan 2 weeks later. I returned for my scan and laid on the bed, the sonographer put the jelly stuff on my stomach and after a long 5 minutes she turned the screen on the monitor to me and Neil. There it was on the screen a tiny dot, but it was beating. The sonographer explained that the beating was the heartbeat. Our little baby was there and its heart was beating, against all odds it was fighting for life.

Fast forward 9 months ...

I started in slow labour on the wednesday, and had my daughter in the hospital on the Saturday. I was in established labour for 15 hours, and once I was fully dilated t took me 28 minutes to push her out. I had gas and air and pethidine for the pain. When I got to 8 cms dilated I asked for an epidural which was administered but did not have chance to take effect because I had her soon after. After 9 months and a very happy, healthy pregnancy I gave birth to Alexandra on my due date the 4th February 2006 at 7.28am. She weighed 7lbs and 14ozs, and was totally perfect.

I am now pregnant again with my second child, and thought It would be nice to post pictures on here and a diary of my pregnancy over the weeks, I also would like to meet other people who are pregnant or trying to concieve.Baby dust and happiness to you all. I hope that this message finds you healthy and happy - wherever you are in the world! We are emigrating to Australia this year aswel so Im not only busy being pregnant but Im busy selling all our stuff for the big move!

Gina x

WE ARE HAVING A BABY GIRL

Went for our 20 week scan today, and sonographer said he thought I was carrying a baby girl. Neil and I are over the moon... smiling from ear to ear. So pleased our little one is growing well, and a little sister for Alexandra. Wonderful day, wonderful news xxxx

Well, thats sounds exciting to think you could have Izzy by the weekend :] I must jinx the weather yesterday as today is overcast and crappy looking and I think it's going to rain.
My friend's baby was born early because she is incapable of carrying a baby full term. I cant remember exactly what the problem is but it gets worse with each pregnancy. She had bleeding in the begining and spotted throughout the pregnancy then went into labour at 29 weeks which they managed to stop but only for a few hours. Kara then had to be delivered by emergency c-section. Her son was born 7 weeks early with simular complications. They told her that her chances of carrying any more children to a viable age would be very very slim. She's just stoked to have a boy and a girl.

Hello my lovely. How are you today?? In Oz the sun is out and everything looks clean after the bit of rain we had last night. I'm catching up with a friend today who's baby was born 11 weeks early. She's 2 months old and so tiny. She's about 2.5kg. Angie's dolls are bigger than she is.
Your nearing the end of your incubation period now and I cant wait to see photos of little Izzy. I found this short poem for you and thought it was nice;

We celebrate the coming birth,
Of an angel come to Earth,
Resembling now a basketball,
But soon our love, our life, our all.

Kind of says it all in 4 sweet lines Hope your feeling a bit more energetic today and that this message finds you smiling!!

I am scheduled for a c/s this Wednesday at 7:30 am! YUK! I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am which I am not looking forward to since I am not a morning person at all. I am scared of the c/s and not looking forward to it, but hopefully all will go really well and be over quick. It is kind of strange to have the baby's birthday planned, I almost feel like I am kicking him out on my schedule not his!
Hopefully he's ok with that and won't require therapy in life!!

I just can't believe how quick this went, even though at times it did drag, and now I am going to start a new chapter with a new little person! It is very strange this time; the second time was easier and just a small transition, this time seems to be a huge deal!

Good luck with your delivery if I don't talk to you before your new one arrives!! Otherwise I guess we will meet on the other side of this adventure!!

Hi, yeh. She went in friday morning, isabella didnt arrive untill early hrs of sunday. Lindseys cervix wasnt thinning or dilating quick enough so she had to have c sect. Isabella weighed 8lb 13oz. Both of them are fine x

Hey girl! I am just checking in on you. I am sure you are so ready for Izzie to come out. It isn't easy when all of your friends are going into labor. That would just piss me off.
I hope you are doing well and enjoying these last few days.
Sending you labor dust!!
Suz

Helloooo....I live on the East Coast of New South Wales (Sydney). Best place to live in the whole of Oz. Very expensive place to live but the income supports the life style here so it kind of all works out in the end :]
Dont feel bad about leaving Alex with other people so you can sleep or rest or get stuff done beause when Izzy is born your going to need to take all the help you can get otherwise your going to be sooo exhausted!! I was feeling really good after Jayden was born and had heaps of energy. In the first month I didn't even feel like I'd had a baby then at about the 6 week mark the exhaustion hit and I was so sleep deprived that I slept at any chance I got and would be asleep by 9pm every night. It's easy to forget how tiring babies can be!! This time round you'll have a baby and a toddler and it's very different in the sense that you really need a routine to make sure both girls are getting what they need.
I live by a routine with my kids because if I'm busy and all of a sudden Jayden cries all I do its look at the clock and know exactly what he needs. He's such a happy little boy.
